I received this as a gift because I never used to use product when straightening my hair (oops) and it would go frizzy and the straightness wouldn't last. This makes a huge difference, although applying the product is usually worrying given that it is a bit sticky and looks greasy when applied. These worries dissipate, however, upon straightening, because my hair comes out looking glossy. So long as you don't use too much, the product works well and will last for ages.

I have fine, wavy, damage prone hair. I used to use this straightening gel for blow drying my hair, before straightening it.

I stuck with it for a while. It was trial and error with the amount of product to use. It seemed like every time I used it I was putting way too much in my hair. Even a pea sized amount was almost too much and at the same time not enough to cover from ends to roots. My hair would get clumpy, slightly sticky and the finnished result was very flat... NOT GOOD.

The reason it was dong this is because it's silicon based, so anyone with fine hair, this stuff is not for you!

However, I can't bring myself to give it only 1 star because it does work. My hair was straight enough after blow drying that I barely had to use a flat iron at all. If you have thick coarse hair this is a product you should try.

Gave my hair a very greasy, clumped together feeling, no matter how little or how much I applied. Leaves the hair feeling so clumped up and greasy and just nasty. I definately do not recommend getting this anywhere near the roots of your hair. It made my hair so difficult to brush through after I used it, and made it look realy oily.

I love this stuff, When I went to use it for the first time I was kind of scared, It looked like it was gonna make my hair super greasy, and gross, but it did really help when I did straighten my hair, and left it really soft.

Love, love, love this product! One time, I couldn't find it and I was freaking out, I thought it was discontinued!
This product has a pleasant smell (even though it may be too overpowering for some, I personally like it) and really makes your hair shiny! I love it. The only thing that I don't really like is that when I flat iron my hair, it creates some steam (which is normal) and it makes me freak out sometimes ahaha. But other than that, it's a great inexpensive product that I'll keep on buying!

I absolutely LOVE this product! It's partner; the TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray is so amazing too. The gel is unbelieveable! It smooths down flyaways and frizz and makes your hair so soft. I will definitely be purchasing this again.

I LOVE this product. My hair feels so soft and smooth every time I use it. I had been purchasing it at Target, but wasn't able to find it any place else. So the last time I bought it, I bought 2 tubes. Now I can't find it anywhere, and I'm almost completely out. Does anyone know if this product has been discontinued? I have tried other products, but haven't found any I like as well. I like how this isn't too heavy and doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy. Please help!

OMG I absolutely don't know how I've lived all my life without this!! For the record, I have thick curly damaged/colored/highlighted hair and I pretty much always straighten it. I was a fan of the spray by TRESemme (thermal creations) because I liked how it protected my hair. Because I'm a fanatic about getting it straight and keeping it that way for the longest possible time, I was reluctant about trying a "Gel". BUT WOW!!! This makes my hair sooo silky smooth and sooo straight!! It makes it nice and flat and again, SMOOTH!! Such an essential when straightening/styling hair

I love this product! I was a little scared when I first used it because I squeezed it onto my hand, and it looked like it would make my hair REALLY greasy, but it didn't! In fact, it was way easier to straighten my hair + it made my hair smooth and shiny! Better than the heat tamer spray IMO

I love this product. I really notice a difference between applying this in my hair versus when I don't put anything in my hair beforehand. Makes straitening my hair (in my case, with a blowdryer and brush) much, much easier and gives me better results!

I absolutely LOVE this stuff! I have really thick, tendril curly hair, and this stuff keeps it straight throughout the day, only a slight curve the the ends after like 6-8 hours, but it looks natural and pretty. I must say it does make your hair feel somewhat greasy, but that is also due to the silicone ingredient. If you have thick hair you should use more, but thinner or less textured hair use a lot less so your hair doesn't become slimy. I straighten my hair the night before so sleeping on it after straightening tends to relieve the grease feeling. Really get your ends, better them being a bit more coated than your scalp, as many oils reside in your skin I'll never purchase a chi product, good job TRESemme!

Love, love, love this product! I read about it on this site and gave it a try. For some weird reason I have wavy hair underneath fairly straight top layers. This gel makes straightening the under layers much easier. It's light, but gets the job done, and smells really good. It also does a good job of protecting hair from heat damage. I would recommend this for anyone with slightly to moderately wavy hair.

my hair is usually frizzy and wavy when I dont straight iron it but when i used the straightening gel it helped somewhat. i could easily manage it and it sped up the time it took to straighten my hair + it protected my hair from the heat.

I like this! I got a sampler, would never even dream of trying this product if it wasn't for that sampler (the packaging is soo dull), but I am so glad I did!
It smells fruity and it's a light clear gel. My hair looked so glossy and shiny after styling, so I will be buying a full-sized tube!

I straighten my hair a lot, and I was once looking for a new heat protecting straightening gel/cream. Before that I was using Vo5s. It was definately better, and leaves my hair really nice and smooth. Since I bought my new straightening iron, I got a lot less frizz than I used to have to try and flatten out.

I love this stuff!!! It contains silicone and that helps with the glossy smoothness a lot!! I use this with the heat tamer spray. After I use my flat iron, I am left with soft silky strands.

A little bit is all you need to make your hair straight to perfection with a glossy shine! Before I straighten my hair, I spray the heat tamer spray and rub some straightening gel onto hair. After seeing the "smoke" effect, the hair comes out sleek, smooth, straight, and shiny. Hope they never d/c this item because it works like wonder.

Hey i love this stuff AAAA-mazing but when i went back to the stores they didnt have it at all ive been checking soo many times and nothing so i dont know if its discontinued ( i dont think so since the thermal creations is still around) or if everyones buying it up or they dont give it to the stores anymore but im sad

I am in love with this product!! I naturally love most TreSemme products, but this one is essential for my hair routine (or at least my straightening hair routine). I have naturally wavy hair, and what I do is after I shower I put in leave-in conditioner. Then i use about a nickel size amount of the gel on each side of my head and run through my hair, focusing on the ends. When using this gel, the time it takes to straighten my hair is cut in half. Plus my hair is really soft. I don't always blow dry my hair, but if I do then my hair will be almost fully straight after, compared to without using the straightening gel, my hair would be no where near straight. So, I would definitely recommend. =]

Doesn't do much for my hair. It sort of gives my hair a greasy feeling.
