I've had this for awhile now and it's still working great. I've been using this to highlight lately because of its softness (and my sensitive dry skin). The bristles on mine are all even unlike some who reviewed it. Mine looks like a flat top brush, but a lot slimmer. I've used it for highlight, blush and contouring. Picks up powder nicely depending on how much you swipe/pressure you put into it.

Found this a while back on the clearance shelf @ CVS - well because I like 'clearance'. Low and behold it's become my most used brush in my arsenal. The shape of this brush is unique, very soft and picks up just the right amount of bronzer, Mineralized blush and MUFE HD powder. I plan on picking up another one or two!

OMG! I got this for a dollar at CVS (It was on sale!). I love this brush. I use it to highlight my cheeks and get rid of fall-out eyeshadow. It's super soft...doesn't shed when I wash it and it's a great price! I definitely recommend this brush!

First off, I got this brush for really cheap. it was 75% off at my cvs, which was the only reason I picked it up. I honestly would not have bought it for any other reason than the fact that it was dirt cheap.
This was my first Essence of Beauty brush so I didn't know what to expect. I have heard alot of good things about them so I was enthusiastic about getting them.
My first reaction when opening it was that it was extremely soft. They don't look soft, but they are sooo soft I can't even describe. I have to say that they are much softer than my mac brushes.
When washing this brush, I noticed that these do shed. They also shed a bit when using it. However, it's not soo bad that your face is covered with hair.
It gives a very sheer finish, which is good for finishing powder. I also like the fact that it's flat topped, because you can press the powder on instead of sweeping them across your face.
I gave this brush a 4, because I am a harsh grader [lol] and the fact that they do shed.
They also smell a bit when you first get it, you'll have to wash it a bit to get rid of the smell.
I'm thoroughly pleased with Essence of Beauty and will be purchasing more in the future.

this is my favorite brush. i was previously using a stiff, tapered foundation brush to apply powder foundation and as a result, it always looked thick and cakey.

this finishing brush is so soft and it deposits the perfect amount of product and blends it into the skin seamlessly, eliminating the need for buffing and making makeup application so quick and easy.

it probably isnt the best for heavy coverage because it seems to leave a very light finish, but i find that it covers everything i need it to, without looking heavy or fake. a great brush and at a GREAT price!

I use this for highlighting and it works really well becayse the brush is so insanely soft that it really just deposits the pigments lightly and evenly without fall out or me having to really rub hard onmy face...I just glide it undermy cheekbones, over my brows then dot it on my forehead and chin. Simple, easy, perfect...my favorite brush for highlighting. I sometimes use it for blush and contouring too.

I really wish I had found this brush before now. I had been kind of scared of using blush, especially mineral, before I found this. I have very fair skin and normal blush brushes applied too heavily, no matter what I tried. This brush is amazing...it applies very lightly and just gives me a natural bit of color(now I don't have to get rid of my lovely Nars Orgasm). It also feels amazing on my skin. For the price it's awesome, and I like the re-useable pouch that comes with it so it won't get smooshed in my bag. Also see my review on the Kabuki brush.

I love this brush! It's so soft and "buttery" like another reviewer said. I use it for my mineral foundation and it gives me a flawless finish! So far though, I've lost about 5 hairs (and that was on the first day) but since then, no more hairs have been lost. It's reasonably priced ($7.99 @ CVS) and a good alternative to other high priced brushes out there. Definitely recommend this brush.

This is truly an awesome brush. To be honest, when I first bought it, I wasn't exactly sure how to use it, so I tried it for contouring... That didn't really work out too well. Used it for setting powder. That worked okay, but I personally prefer a fluffier, bigger brush.
Now I use it for the application of bronzer and shimmer products, and it applies the perfect amount of product. I love it for this purpose, and always use it. For those that have any trouble with shimmer products because you find they go on too strongly, perhaps check out this brush. You can buy it at your local CVS for about $7. The quality, from what I've found, rivals that of high-end, expensive brushes. Natural wooden handle, silky-soft natural brush hairs...

I can't rave enough about this brush. Picks up just enough MSF powder and makes my skin look FLAWLESS! It's like my skin but so much better. Aside from having an even skintone, I can't tell that I'm wearing makeup; I seriously can't feel it when I use this brush. I thought the EoB kabuki was a winner at first, but I found that it picked up too much product for my taste. The bristles are like butter---so amazingly soft, and the brush hasn't shed a single hair on me unlike the kabuki which is still shedding after 2 months. I can't believe it's only $7.99+tax because it performs just as well as my MAC 187.

This is awesome brush to use to highlight the eyebone area with bronzer! Or to do the bronzer "W" because of its flat head! Love, Love this brush! It's shape makes it a must have for contouring and creating effects!

I bought this brush to apply my Bare Escentuals foundation. I got sick of using the BE face brush and having it shed all over. The Essence of Beauty Finishing Brush is soft and picks up just enough mineral foundation for a smooth application. The brush shape also lets me apply my make up in tighter spots, e.g. under eye, around the nose, than the BE brush. I plan to buy more of these brushes when they go on sale. Between these and Sonia Kashuk brushes, I see no need to spend a bundle on brushes. They work great.

Once again, EoB struck gold and I bought this on a whim! I am definitely adding it to the rest of my EoB brush collection! I am loving this brush! The hairs are soft. The application is wonderful! Definite repurchase!

I took a chance on this brush and it was a waste. This is a thin, paddle-like brush with a flat edge. It is touted as being "Great for Minerals", but I can't imagine how it would be, since it lacks the fullness necessary for buffing.

Although it has a flat edge, this is misleading. Not all of the hairs are the same length. So, only the longest hairs make up that flat edge. Instead of a smooth collection of hairs for a smooth application, this brush has a ragtag edge and leaves an uneven, rough finish.

EOB brushes are hit or miss, and this is a miss. Go for the foundation brush instead- it's nice for powder too. continued >>
