I was trying to save money so I bought this online for about $12. I used it for a few weeks and was really disappointed by the results: my undereye circles seemed darker, the area under my eyes sunken and the little wrinkles deeper. I was so troubled by my appearance that I asked my mom if she had any other eye cream. She had a decent sized sample of Lancome's High Resolution Eye Refill-3X that I used over the next month or so, and the change was dramatic: the area under my eyes filled out and the wrinkles were less noticeable. When I ran out, I decided not to buy it because it's pretty expensive, so I did some research on MUA and found that Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado is highly rated. It's $27 for 0.5 oz, which is the lowest priced eye cream at Nordstrom (according to a salesperson) and a little over twice the price of Booth's. The Kiehl's stuff works! Check out the reviews for that product.
I really can't recommend the Booth's eye cream to anyone, even younger people with perfect skin. I've been using department store eye cream for years and to go to this stuff was very disappointing. The way I see it, rather than spend thousands of dollars on plastic surgery later in life, spend a little extra money now and get yourself some good eye cream because when people see your face, the first thing that they look at are your eyes, and if you have wrinkles there, you will look older.

c. Booth Black Licorice Eye Cream contains .5 fl oz (15 ml), I bought it for about USD$13 in Ulta, it is always out of stock online, so when I saw this available in Miami, I HAD to grab it.
Honestly, this is my 2nd eye cream I have ever tried. The first one I ever owned was Body Shop’s Vitamin C Eye Reviver which didn’t do much for me.
I like that the c. Booth one was affordable, but honestly, it didn’t do much for me, I wanted something that will take away my dark eye circles, I don’t see an improvement after using it for 4 months. I naturally don’t have eye bags, so I can’t say much about it.
I will however, say that this product helped in hydrating the skin around my eye (diminishes the wrinkles), which is the only reason why I would continue using it. I will not be repurchasing this (will keep on trying other eye creams till I find my holy grail one!)
Take note, don’t put it under your concealer as it will slide the make up off!
Pros: moisturizes under eyes, no unpleasant/strong scent, affordable
Cons: mineral oil(some people have a problem with it), does not help dark eye circles.
Overall, 4/10 stars.

Let's just say I was excited to try this as I have been using some great natural brand eye creams for affordable prices these days that work better than my he ones ever did. I love this line but when I found out this eye cream has mineral oil in it the love ended for me lol. It's a cheap filler and for me the kiss of death that casues clogged proes and breakouts. So huge pass on my end and sticking with my beloved HG Avalon Organics Vit C Revitalizing Eye Cream.

"This non-greasy eye cream fights back with natural avocado, wheat germ oils and most importantly black licorice root. Signs of aging are visibly diminished, and the suppleness of younger, healthier-looking skin is instantly restored."
Yum...this product really DOES smell like black licorice! (which may or may not be a good thing, depending on personal preference...I personally give the scent thumbs up!) C. Booth's Black Licorice Eye Cream comes in a tiny 0.5 Fl Oz/15 mL tub. The product is a white, slightly thick, hydrating cream. I am an eye cream novice, as this is only the 3rd or 4th eye cream I have given a go. Of the few I've tried, this one takes the cake. I consider it my HG and my search for a satisfying eye cream has been put on hiatus. Am I convinced better is out there? Yes. That is why I haven't given this product the full 5 lippies. Nonetheless, this $12 product by C.Booth has satisfied my dry eyes and leaves me a happy camper.
PROS-
~ Very hydrating: My eyes were very dry from harsh cleaners (I have oily skin, and wash it often and with drying gel, salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide cleansers) and this helps restore the moisture, even in the dry winter months.
~ Lasts a long time: I've had my wee little tub for a good few months and use it at least once a day, maybe twice. Still have a decent amount left.
~ Only need a little bit: I feel like I use less of this cream as I have with others in the past.
~ Easier to get all of the cream out because it is packaged in a tub and not a tube.
CONS-
~The tub wasn't full when I opened it: I swear this first tub was only half full when I first got it, and the second one I have waiting to be used is only 75% full.
~ If exposed to air for too long the cream's consistency seems to thicken and get a bit sticky, but that can be easily avoided by replacing the cap tightly after each use :)
~ I've had a few zits pop up near my eyelids, making this a possible pore-clogger. I cannot I am 100% certain of this, though, but most likely it is the culprit.
Overall, I really like this eye cream. I only need an eye cream for hydration, and this one provides long lasting hydration. I don't even NEED to use this eye cream twice a day because it hydrates so well, but I prefer to. I'm 21 years old and luckily don't have puffy eyes or dark circles, at least a noticeable extent. Also don't have any crow's feet or wrinkles because I'm pretty young, so I cannot say this eye cream is truly anti-aging or not. If you need an eye cream for dry eyes, I do recommend this one!

Love the smell and packaging. Although I haven't seen any improvement on my dark semi-circles (colorwise) this cream is really moisturizing and the best part it doesn't make my eyes sting (like all about eyes did!) just that makes it my HG eye cream. I've been using it for 2 months day and night and still have more than half left. I will buy this again and again.

I am not liking this eye cream after two weeks. I have fine lines and dark undereye circles and this eye cream didn't seem to be doing anything for me. It's not moisturizing enough to use before putting on my undereye concealer. Luckily I only paid $12 for this otherwise I would be upset.

Nice under makeup. I rub this under my eyes and a bit onto the top of my cheeks which does a good job of softening laugh lines. No eye irritation and doesn't seem to make my makeup run, but I mostly attribute that to the powder in the Bobbi Brown concealer.
A bit tough getting it out of the container with fingernails of any length.

This cream is reasonably priced at ~12 and it's worth the purchase. I'm in school and on nights where I'm up late, I slather this under my eyes and actually wake up looking rested! This is a big deal to me because I'm in a med program that has exams every other week. It's helped lightened my dark under eye circles (I'm no longer self conscious about them) and soften some lines I was getting around my eyes. It's non greasy, absorbs well and I have no trouble applying eye makeup over it. It comes in a small cute screw top bottle and the black licorice smell is quite yummy. Another amazing bonus: it made my lashes longer! (I've tried DHC eyelash tonic before, which did nothing, but this made such a difference in my lashes). LOVE THIS EYE CREAM.

I LOVE this product! I bought this product purely on a whim because I was looking for an eye cream that was cruelty free. I usually end up disappointed with cruelty free beauty products (save for the select few I loyally purchase every time), but this is a dream product! It does exactly what it says. It goes on smooth and soothes my under eyes. NOTHING is going to completely get rid of your dark circles and wrinkles (in fact, most professionals will tell you that nothing can really correct that problem), but I find that this product is excellent at what it does. The scent is very faint and fades in a few minutes. I am in love with this product and the other Booth products I've tried. I highly recommend this!

I agree with most reviewers who are a little bit more "mature" in age...this product moisturizes well enough, however I have used this for about 4 months and have not seen a hint of a difference in my under eye area. Plus, I hate the smell of black licorice, so this was not very pleasant for me to use, but I dealt with it! The only plus I've seen is that I didn't seem to go through the "dry under eye" transition period in the fall, however I am also using a product by Garnier that was highly recommended on MUA for moisturizing, and it is a whole lot cheaper! I say if you are looking for it to do what it says on the box, please don't waste your money!! (I gave it 2 lippies just for moisturizing properties - nothing more.)

This is just a basic eye moisturiser. It is however very moisturising but if you like your eye creams to do a bit more than that, this wont cut it. Good for very dry eyes. If you want to use this under make up, you may have to wait a fair bit longer than other creams to absorb.

Update July 2009: While it does nothing for lines/puffiness...it does not irritate and it does brighten the area.

This product may be fine for those in their twenties, but if you are 40+, don't even bother. As others have mentioned, the jar is cute, the fragrance is pleasant enough, and the price is right. It does have moisturizing properties and it doesn't leave your skin greasy, but it just won't suffice for those of us that are really beginning to see the effects of time. Did not notice any improvement in dark circles or fine lines.

I bought this after reading the reviews here. I found it a Rite Aid for $12.99 (the last one on the shelf!). First I must say I like it very much because it is cruelty free which is my #1 criteria for any product.
It comes in a cute little jar that closes easily. (I hate those little jars that take 3 tries to get the threads on the cap lined up so it closes correctly...)
Anyway, the cream itself I find to be very moisturizing. I like the consistency and it melts into my skin nicely. There is a very slight licorice smell initially, but it fades quickly. I haven't found that it does anything amazing (anyone know of any magic wands in a jar? :-) but it does what it is supposed to do - it moisturizes the eye area nicely. The dark areas around my eyes are the same and the fine lines are the same. I will be starting Avon's eye contouring system, so I'll review that after I've used it a while.
Overall, I say give Booth's Licorice Eye Cream a try. It does exactly what it says it does!

UPDATE (5/3/08): Bonus EYELASH booster! No joke. I noticed my lower eyelashes got thicker, so I thought I'd experiment and started applying it onto my upper lashes as well. I have minimal eyelash fall-out now, and both upper and lower lashes are thicker and longer. I seriously couldn't believe it, but I haven't been using anything else on my lashes other than MAC Plushlash mascara. I've been using Plushlash since before I got this eyecream and didn't notice this change until after...so I'm crediting the cream. Try it and see if it works for you!
1) Purchase again?: Yes! ($12.99 at Rite-Aid or drugstore.com)
2) Other eye creams tried: Clinique all about eyes, Kiehl's eye alert
3) Experience: LOVE. I'm 22 & my main concern is hydration & wrinkle prevention, & this cream definitely delivers. The smell is nice (not chemical at all), & not too strong. The texture is creamy but it melts into your skin & you don't have to wait a long time to apply makeup. I've been using it for 2 wks & my under-eye skin is noticeably more supple.
4) Tips: I don't see any major de-puffing, but it's only been 2 weeks. I'm also a busy college student who hardly gets more than 4-5 hrs of sleep a night (& doesn't drink enough water), so I doubt ANY eye cream would help with my self-induced eye-bags anyway :/
5) HG status? YES! my HG budget eye cream :)
6) Ingredients: it was listed below, but just for kicks I'll list again.
Water (Aqua), Isopropyl Palmitate, Stearic Acid, Dimethicone, CyclopentaSiloxane, Sorbitol, Mineral Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Lecithin, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract (Licorice), Chamomilla Recutita Extract (Matricaria), Salvia Officinalis Leaf Extract (Sage), Hedera Helix Extract (Ivy), Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract (Rosemary), Echinacea Angustifolia Leaf Extract, Betula Alba Bark Extract, Triticum Vulgare Germ Oil (Wheat), Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado), Glycerin, Sodium PCA, Urea, Trehalose, Polyquaternium 51, Sodium Hyaluronate, Propylene Glycol, Lanolin, Perfume, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Tetrasodium EDTA, BHT, Acrylates/Acrylamide Copolymer, Polysorbate 85, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, 2 Bromo 2 Nitropropane 1, 3 Diol continued >>

ETA: Well, I began using this stuff again by itself after a long hiatus of using some other stuff (just because). I have to rave about this now and update my old review. This is still not as moisturizing as I'd like it to be, but it does a FANTASTIC job of lightening up the skin around my eyes. Mind you, I don't have super-dark circles, but enough to be noticeable when I don't get enough sleep. On those mornings, I have to really layer on the concealer, which I dislike doing since it tends to look dry and cakey since the skin around my eyes is always so dehydrated.
Anyway, I've been using Booth's Black Licorice Eye Cream every night and morning for the past three weeks and hardly have to use concealer anymore. I used to have to put my foundation (tinted moisturizer) around my eyes first, then put on a concealer (Make Up For Ever Lift) and then put on an illuminator (YSL Touche Eclat or Dior Skinflash) and then dust everything with Laura Mercier's Secret Brightening Powder to set it and make it look more natural. But now I usually do the TM around my eyes and a little bit of Touche Eclat or Skinflash and I'm done. I haven't been using any other products around my eyes on a regular basis (just oils and waxy balms for moisture) so the improvement has to be due to Booth's.
The ingredients list is amazing for such an inexpensive item too and the packaging is so cute in an old-fashioned apothecary kind of way. For around 12 USD, this is the bargain of the century. I am sold forever and ever.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Overall, I like this eye cream. It smells yummy, faintly like sweet licorice, but the fragrance isn't too strong, doesn't linger or irritate my eyes. The texture is great--really thick and luxurious, but it absorbs pretty well after a minute or so. Skin feels soft and smooth afterwards and makeup goes on top without much of a problem.
I should add that I layer two other eye creams on top (100% Pure's Pure Caffeine Bean Eye Cream to tighten the skin and Avene's Soothing Eye Cream for moisture). I like the cute little pot--looks a bit apothecary, but is plastic rather than heavy glass. I can't comment much on the purported lightening aspects of the cream. I use Avene's Ystheal + Cream at night around my eyes and the retinaldehyde in that product has done wonders to lighten up my (not-so-dark) shadows. This item might help since it has licorice extract in it. Overall, it's a nice little product and I would probably repurchase unless something else catches my eye. continued >>

I recently finished my first container of Booths black licorice eye cream. I found it on drugstore.com after searching high and low for a well liked eye cream. I am in my mid twenties and wrinkle prevention is my main concern, although with my fine thin skin I am starting to see the first signs of aging.
Anyways...back to the product, I didn't notice anything exteme like complete disappearance of the faintest sign of a wrinkle, but this eye cream is a wonder as a moisturizer. It sinks in quickly, yet the skin around my eyes feels so moisturized and plumped up after I use it. After running out I was using my clinique all about eyes and it couldn't compete with the moisturizing qualities of my Booths. I finally caved and ordered some more and at 12.99 it's a great deal for such a high quality product. I recommend this to all of my girlfriends although the inconvenience of it not being available at the local mall or drugstore does seem to deter them!!!!

I like this very much and would buy it again, but don't use it everyday. I started out using it daily, but after a month or so I hadn't noticed any real improvement to my dark circles and only minor improvement in puffiness so I went back to my HG eye products (avene, osea & cellbone depuff & vit c serum) and get such great results from them I won't switch. What I now use this for and it works great, is an eye mask. When I'm doing my weekly facial or peels and want a barrier cream around my eyes, or if they're unusually parched, I reach for this. Pat on a glob and leave it for a few hours and it totally rehydrates my eye area, plumps fine lines and keeps the harsh facials away from my eyes. The ingredients are great, but my eyes just like my other products on a regular basis.

After reading the reviews, I thought that I found "the" eyecream. Sadly, I didn't. I have to say that it is very moisturizing, which is good, I really like that a lot but, it didn't help my dark circles or any puffiness that I had. I still use this because I don't want to waste it and I don't have a lot of money to throw around, but I still am waking up with puffy eyes. I wake up like I have been crying the night before, and it usually lasts all day long. So I don't give this product but 3 lippies, because I do like the moisturizing feeling it gives, but other than that, its not a very good product.
