I should say I was a very devoted fan of Aveda before trying out the tourmaline range.
This is the worst moisturizer I ever tried. It never soaks into the skin, leaving an oily residue sitting on top. However, I got tiny particles of cream 'peeling' off my face or sitting on top. This looks nasty, I should point out. Paradoxically, the oil sitting on top doesn't moisturize but makes all the dry patches look more vivid.
I found it almost impossible to put any make up over this. No cream based foundation or mineral concealer would cover the dryness and 'peeling' parts.
Overall the whole Tourmaline range has been a huge disappointment.

it's one of the very very few moisturisers with an spf in it I can bear to have on my face. It actually feels pleasant to put on rather than something I have to grit my teeth through.
and I love the way it smells.
no moisturiser is going to reverse sings of aging. That's what peels are for :p
but a good one, along with a serum, helps keep my skin healthy and protects it from London pollution and filth. You should see what comes off my skin after taking the tube twice a day.
And I really like this one.

It's a good product but way too expensive. I don't like the packaging; it makes it hard not to waste the product because it's hard to get the lotion that's sitting at the bottom when you're almost out of the product and the pump is no longer able to dispense the lotion. I like the texture, it's light, ideal for summertime. I like that it contains spf but I wish the number was a little higher than 15. There is a bit of a scent which doesn't bother me.

I'm beginning my 4th bottle of this product. It's expensive $40.00 USD but it works well on my skin especially under makeup. I'm not exclusive to Aveda's slincare line, but besides their Inner Light TM. this is one of my favorite!

Did they change the price on this product or did I get lucky at the Aveda Institute? I only paid 15.00 USD and I am VERY happy with this :) It's a great moisturizer for oily skin, especially in NOLA humidity. One thing i love about it is that the SPF doesn't seem to sit on my face like some bizarre film; almost every other SPF moisturizer i've tried leaves a scrim on my face (i'm looking at YOU, Philosophy!). I intend on trying the serum next, but honestly - I don't think i would pay 38.00 USD for this moisturizer. 15.00 was totally acceptable though. I'm really liking it for the summer!

This is a great light weight daytime moisturizer. It is oil free, but just be warned since it contains tourmaline, it is going to be a exfoliant and may still cause oily skin to stay oily. It is best used with the entire line.

I like the smell of this product, but it just doesn't do anything well for my skin. In the summer, it makes me break out. Now that the weather is changing, I have flakes all over my cheeks. I also agree with another reviewer that the speck of dried product everyday is really annoying after spending $40 - it probably wastes 10% of the bottle when all is said and done. Would not buy again, I'm only continuing to use it now because I hate to throw away $40.

I was desperate for an under-foundation SPF lotion. The Aveda website carries reviews, but they only publish the 5-start reviews so it looks like everyone loves the product. How stupid am I? Anyway, I purchased it e-shopping and now I'm sending it back. Outrageously expensive at $40. Can you say breakout? I think if you have young, sturdy skin, you'll do okay with this. The consistency is nice enough but it doesn't work for me.

"Found in nature" does not necessarily mean healthy or safe!
Used happily all summer. Then when cold weather made my skin more sensetive, this product began to sting when I applied. Painfully. I switched to another product for winter, and have found this again now that weather is warmer and skin is less high-maintenance -- have been using for about a week with no interesting results.
Not a fan of how a speck of product dries in the dispenser after every use -- I just imagine all those specs of wasted product adding up to at least a few dollars of this expensive bottle.
This product is pretty thin, so a tiny bit covers full face. I'll prob use up full bottle, but won't re-purchase.

I've used Aveda products for a few years, but this lotion just didn't hydrate my skin enough, so I went back to the more hydrating tourmaline creme which works better for my skin. This would probably be a great very light lotion for someone younger w/o dry skin.

I really didn't like this. I tried it a few times, and each time my skin reacted badly. First of all, it tends to 'sit' on the skin. Yet, after using it a few days, my skin was so dehydrated that it started to flake. I don't know whether it wasn't hydrating properly or whether I was having a mild allergic reaction, but either way this was not for me.

This is a light oil-free lotion with a SPF 15 built in. It absorbs quickly and doesn't leave some of the weird greasiness that I get from other oil-free lotions. (Greasy oil-free lotions seems like an oxymoron, but it's a problem I always run into!) Anyways, what I like about this oil-free lotion is that it's not necessarily a formula for teenagers; it's formulated for adult oily skin. It would be suitable for anybody but the most sensitive skin types. Also, the $38.00 USD is quite reasonable, in my opinion, for the amount and the quality of this product.

I've just bought this for the third time. I find that daytime moisturizer makes all the difference with how my mineral powder foundation looks throughout the day. This one is nice and light. It soaks right into my skin and my skin stays matte. It smells nice too. It's $38.50 for 2.5 oz, not bad.
