This product is another disappointing British import. In essence, it does nothing great. It applies evenly and, like any moisturizer, acts as a sealant, if it does nothing else.
The theme in British beauty products tends to be British cache, high price, and low performance. The funny thing is most of my friends in England use American or French facial lines. They only buy candles, soaps, and bath gels from the likes of Molton Brown (Floris is also great for their line of scents - great soaps). If you are looking for something that smells great, I guess Molton Brown products are fine. Personally, I prefer efficacy. If I want great smell, I would light a candle or where perfume (which is why I may also be unappreciative of beauty product reviews that rave about scent. The science may be lost on me, but what is the scent supposed to do for my skin? I am not seeking aromatherapy. See Skinceuticals CE Ferulic for a great product that smells bad)

Molton Brown's skincare line contains a lot of silicones which accounts for the nice consistency of their products. They all have very good "slip" and leave a comfortable non-sticky finish. This is their only skincare moisturizer that offers sun protection, but I don't believe it's adequate to block all UV rays(the only active ingredient is Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate). It's in the middle of winter now so it's "working" pretty well. I wouldn't know how it would hold up in summer heat/sun. I like how this product layers really well under makeup without making my foundation or cream blush fade or streak. I like the absence of any funky sunscreen fragrance. My skin is combination -- it's mainly dry on the cheeks and can get oily in the t-zone, but this lotion balances everything out. That's what impresses me the most. The skin on my face is uniform to the touch. No spot feels too dewy nor taut and dry. [[The silicones in this do slightly irritate my skin...(ARGH!)...at the end of the day I experience a slight itchy tingle in spots (no breakouts appear though...just itchiness).]] I gave this two weeks and although I like the product feel & finish, I'm going back to my other day moisturizer (Oil of Olay Complete) which has better spf ingredients. continued >>
