After 15 years with Clarins' sensitive line I'm ready to move on.
And it's to Creme Splendide Genereuse. I've tried numerous moisturizers, most purportedly designed for "sensitive skin" but AG's has impressed me with its scent, texture and its simply lovely results on my skin. My face feels smoother, softer; the skin's plump, moist and not tight at all. The Creme sinks in right away and just leaves clear, beautiful skin. Totally unlike my experiences with other brands, including AG's Creme Splendide and night cream. The regular formula was ok but nothing too spectacular. The night cream, however, did not work for me and I woke up with dry, flaky skin in the 2 weeks I tried it. It's now my first month on the Genereuse and while I started out with the AG counter's "generous" (pardon the pun) samples, I had to go out and buy the full sized product! Unfortunately, this is sooo expensive! Fortunately, they're having a pre-Christmas bundle here and I got the full sized toner free with it! The Genereuse rounds up my AG obsession quite nicely. The brand's fragrances are my life's staples, why not the skin care as well?

It is a nice cream: it smells heavenly, has a great texture, evens out skintone, works beautifully under makeup and does not cause breakout. My skin looks so clear and even since I started using this cream (a.m.). However, I find it not that moisturizing. My skin looks good but feels a bit tight and I need a super rich night cream to keep my skin moisturized. I can clearly see that people with dry skin may find it not moisturizing enough. Maybe because it's the mineral oil (2nd ingredient), which my skin does not like that much, or my skin is just too dry (I have dry/very dry skin). However, I give 4 lippies because my complexion looks nice with this cream. If you have normal to dry skin and are looking for a rich cream which is not greasy, you might like it. ***Update 29 Sep*** I initially gave 4 lippies but now I have some problems with this cream. It is just *NOT* moisturizing enough for my dehydrated skin. My skin dried out gradually with this cream (tight, flakey) and looked tired. This cream reminds me a bit of sisley confort extreme day cream or EL verite cream: all have great texture/ are not greasy but not that moisturizing (all mineral oil based). For this price I am quite disappointed. If you have dry skin, please try a sample before purchasing.

Purchased the ENTIRE Annick Goutal skincare line for my birthday in October, but unfortunately other than the cleanser, the other items were a miss for me and actually left me a bit on the dry side. Very expensive for standard products. I will repurchase the cleanser again, which I use daily and for me this is the only hit from the skincare line.

I absolutely LOVE this moisturizer. I use Retin-A, so most lotions/creams leave my face dry and flaky, but this one sinks right in and leaves my skin hydrated and fresh-looking all day long. LOVE it. The only downside is the price. But as far as I'm concerned, it works, so I will repurchase.
