I have relaxed hair and am growing out the relaxed part (= nappy roots!).
This dryer did not work for me at all. The attachment is very cumbersome and does not allow for precise drying and straightening at the root. There is about 1 inch of the hair that just couldn't get dried and straightened properly. I then got my friend to do it for me, thinking I might not have been using the right technique or angle. Not more success. Gave it a few more tries, then took it right back for a refund. I'll stick to my Vidal sasson 15$ drier. It's got 3 attachments and does a much better job than this crap.

I like this blowdryer--it has special attachment that help facilitate a nice, even, straightened blow out. It takes only a little getting used to, to figure out which "tension" setting to use (1 through 4) and to use it to dry your hair in sections. It's actually easier to use this dryer alone than to use a dryer and hold a brush simultaneously. My hair dries faster with this dryer, it is soft, feels healthy, and is straighter than when I use a different kind of dryer. That said, this does not give me the same effect as if I went to a salon and had my hair blown out. But I dont know if anything I use at home myself will do that. And it wont replace a straightening iron, either. Overall, a good purchase and good price ($59 on drugstore.com)
