This is my second favorite La Mer product. My favorite, of course, being La Mer's Lip balm. The Body Creme is the best moisturizing cream I have tried.
The scent is something that you would expect from La Mer. I do not find it overpowering though. Some lotions/creams I only use before bed because I don't want to smell like them throughout the day; I don't have that problem with La Mer. The moisturizing benefits of this product are unparalleled. It leaves my skin hydrated but does not make my skin feel greasy like other creams would.
I have tried to find an alternative to this since I find it to be insanely priced, but I can't. I find most other luxury skin care lines make laughable body products. I've ventured into other brands outside of the department store, but nothing compares.
La Mer's The Body Creme is simply the best!

Just received my online from Saks. I had to have LaMer body creme since I love Creme de la mer for my face. It was very thick(nowhere near as thick as the face creme, this spreads easily) and did not leave me greasy however as I look at the skin on my feet 30 minutes later, they do not look moisurized. The worst part is I had to return this and the hand creme because of the smell. It is not that the smell is too strong but as soon as I applied it I got an instant headache. I am one of those people that is very sensitive to smells and will get a headache from them very easily.

I've tried many other body creams but this one is at the top of the list by far! The silkiness and smell are fabulous! Plus, the significant other always notices when I wear it and comments on how soft my skin is and how wonderful I smell! If it's noticed by the male counterpart - it's worth the extra cash to me!

I like this. I bought the tube (not the jar) when it first came out a couple years ago. And then when I stopped by La Mer in the mall, I was lucky to get a few samples of it too. It moisturizes well. It feels great, smells great. its a little greasy at the start but soaks in quickly. but I get better results for my dry winter skin with aveeno lotion, which is literally 20x cheaper. so it is a waste of money. They dont even put any of their "miracle broth" in it, which they should. Hey, if it worked better than aveeno, I'd be willing to buy it again. If I had money to burn, yeah I'd probably buy it again, but not now.

The Creme de la Mer The Body Creme is a good body moisturizer. I apply following a bath or shower when my skin has been lightly toweled off but is still slightly damp. I notice that my skin is very soft and supple following application. I do not mind the jar packaging.
My only complaint with CDLM The Body Creme is the scent. It is a clean almost medicinal scent, but it does not smell similar to any of the other CDLM products I have used. The scent has a note to it that I do not care for, but I can not put my finger on it as to what it smells like. Without this odd scent, I would give this product a "4" for overall rating.
I will not be re-purchasing this product due to it's scent and cost.

I've been trying a sample of this on my lower legs and Olay's Age Transition Body Serum on my thighs and I think the Olay skin is softer and more hydrated. The La Mer skin feels dry and flaky. Now I do like and have been using for a while La Mer's cleansing foam, hand creme and lip balm. I recently bought the moisture gel and like it so far. But I don't think the body creme is worth $195 when Olay does a better job moisturizing and hydrating for about $15. Otherwise, I would have forked over the money. In fact, I think La Prairie's cellular body moisturizer does a better job if you are going to spend a lot of money on a body moisturizer.

Let me get down to business and tell you that.... I'm in LOVE with this stuff!!! This is the best moisturizer ever! Although it's very pricey it works like a charm. I'm in the healthcare field therefore I am constantly washing my hands. Which causes my hands to become cracked in between my fingers and dry all over. I always have a bottle of hand lotion/cream in my locker to use but, everything I've tried never ever came close to Le Mer! After two days of using it my hands are softer then my 2 year olds bottom! My huuby even noticed the dramatic difference in the texture and how soft my hands become. I used Le Mer ony legs last night (I have dry skin on my legs and suffer from scaley apperance no matter how much body lotion I put on in the morning the ugly scales appear by the afternoon) now it's the evening and they're soft with NO SCALES.. YAHOO!!!! This stuff works miracles!!! I only wonder if it will help the KP that I have on the back of my upper arms and the top of my thighs?? But, I'll post an update if I can see a difference and how long it took. I gave this product 4 lippies due to the fact that it is so expensive. But, I'm now an addict of this line and I'd like to try all the products that would apply to my needs.

Pros:
- Rich and really moisturizing, yet not sticky.
Cons:
- Very expensive
- Bulky jar
- Too strongly fragranced
Overall: Excellent product at a very steep price point. Jar could be more compact with less room in between the double walls. Those thick walls make it bulkier and harder to handle than necessary. I would definitely much prefer this body cream with less heavy fragrance or, even better, in a fragrance-free version. Nevertheless, will buy again, especially for dry winter skin.

Creme de La Mer's Body Cream is the most effective body skincare product I have ever tried. Although its initial appearance looks like it would be too thick/rich, it's actually very silky going on. The company's claims that it has a sustained moisturizing effect and thus, you don't have to use everyday has been true in my experience. Don't need to use a lot of the product to cover your entire body so the large tub lasts quite awhile and, along with the great benefits, justifies the $195 price tag. After finishing the first jar, I researched online product info and reviews and tried many different skincare lines from drugstore to other well known dept store and dermatoligist-recommended brands in an attempt to find a comparable but less expensive choice, but no other body creme has surpassed this one.

I bought this product after using the body lotion a few times. I had an "interesting" use for it...several nights a week, I applied it on my extremely dry feet and put on cotton socks. In the morning, my feet would feel very smooth and hydrated! Will certainly purchase again!
My ratings sometimes tend to be low on good products if I think they are expensive...and this one is certainly expensive, but it is worth it.

This is my first La Mer product and I'm totally in love with it. The best body cream ever. If you're looking for the best body cream and don't mind spending a crazy lot of money for it, this product is the one.

I was so hesitant to buy this because of the price, but my eczema has gotten so bad for whatever reason I cannot figure out. I mean, large red patches on my arm, stomach, bra line, everywhere. It basically burns. When I walked by the counter at nordstrom the SA had me convinced it would heal my eczema, she said they use it on burn victims. So I caved and as soon as I got home I put it on where it was the itchiest. Within 10 minutes of putting it on, I feel so relaxed and soothed. I didn't have that perpetual itchiness that aggravates me endlessly. It is only the first application but I have high hopes for this wonder. Will keep updating as I continue to use it.
Update (8-6-09): Okay, it's not even a full week after I started using this cream that the eczema on my arms has nearly completely vanished. I've also been using my prescription creams and hydrocortizone to help me not to itch, but I'd like to believe this cream did a lot to help heal my skin. My skin is a lot more moisturized and hydrated and everytime after I apply it, I feel so relaxed and calm. I know I'm gonna need to buy more because I love that I don't feel itchy anymore.

As a dry skin sufferer and in my on going search for the best body cream, i have tried almost every single product out there, some are good, some are bad and some are really good. Some i buy again, some i don't even finish.
La Mer is my ultimate HG high end body cream(My HG low end is Creme De Corps by Kiehl's,AMAZING).I buy the 300mL size which is more economical and find that with daily use, lasts me almost a month.
Scent:Lemony to my nose, and bit musky, like Creme De La Mer but a little bit more earthy.
Texture:Creamy, thick, but easy to use and spread on the skin, absorbs after a while, and feels slightly greasy for a minute or two, love that.
Effectiveness:Well, this is a serious bad a** cream. It moisturizes, nourishes, firms, regenerates and gives skin a glow that is unbelievable.
If you have the driest of dry skin,a good scrub along with this little gem is the best cure.
Perfection in a jar!
I don't have the box to list the ingredients, but as soon as i re purchase i will list them down. It's full of vitamins, algae and plant extracts, omega 3 and 6,shea butter and hyaluronic acid.
Soon to come.
EDIT:Ingredients as promised, sorry for the delay, the cream was bought today, 9/13/2011.

La Mer is a fantastic brand...I don't think I've ever heard of someone regretting a La Mer purchase. I first tried the lip balm and fell in love with it, and thus decided to do a little more investing and try out their lotion. I don't think I'll ever go back to my drugstore lotions again...this product is well worth the price, and makes my skin feel like butter. Plus, it leaves my skin feeling smooth for so much longer than other products.

I love this body cream. I was actually buying the lip balm (my HG lipbalm!) when the SA gave me a few samples of this. I tried a little on my arm in the store and instantly loved it! I then got home and after a shower put the rest of the cream on and it was pure luxury. I went back the next day and got the full size tub (and its a pretty big size tub!) of this cream but stupidly without asking the price first. I mean, i knew it would be pricey as its la mer but i wasnt expecting £160! (Selfridges london) I told myself it was just a nice treat for now and again but now im totally in love. I have tried SO many creams before from drugstore brands which left my skin stinging to chanel's new line of body cream that was a nightmare to blend into my skin and rub in and was so sticky! This is ''perfect''. Rubs in and absorbs very quickly, i have terribly dry skin and this is rich enough with NO greasy feeling at all, has a light pleasant smell and best thing is i only use a small amount and i dont need to even use it everyday its just wonderful :)

I have used both the body lotion and cream and without a doubt prefer the cream. It's moisturizing without being greasy and absorbs quickly. Love that it comes in a tube or jar too. Overall $200 is more than I want to spend on body lotion or cream so I'm not going to repurchase.

This is the best creme I have used and I have tried them all. This is the only one that actually does what it claims, I don't have to use a ton, don't have to use every day, and it gets rid of the winter dry patches and red irritation on my legs that nothing else touches. Plus it leaves my skin silky smooth all day. Other products make my skin smooth but within a few hours I need to reapply - not with this. It soaks in well so no greasy feeling. Expensive, yes, but worth it especially with I consider the money I have spent on less expensive creams that just haven't worked.
