Love this product, I'm just dissapointed that it's currently not available in Canada. Good thing I only need a small amount each day. I'm in my 40s and find that with my tinted moisturizer I'm fine for the day, as far as my requirements for moisture. Combined with the Outer Peace Cleanser and a Clinique toner I'm thrilled with how this is helping my skin. I'm typically sensitive to salycic acid, but I've never had a reaction to this product. I do find that I need a richer moisturizer at night, so I will sometimes combine this with Clinique Superr Defense for oily skin. Keeping the Aveda product on my t-zone.
My daughter uses the Clinique Treatment Moisturizer for acne. I find this product a bit too drying for my 40 + years skin. So would recommend this product for mature acne prone skin. Not sure how this would work on teenage acne.

I love this lotion. I have suffered from mild acne for years and I have combination skin. I think this lotion moisturizes just enough without causing my skin to become more oily and without causing acne. I would not recommend this lotion for people with normal or dry skin. This is for people who have combination skin or oily skin. I think the Aveda Botanical Kinetics hydrating lotion is a better choice for individuals with acneic skin but who have dry or normal skin. I like that this has the %0.5 salicylic acid in it to control breakouts and has anti irritants like tamanu and boswellia to control redness. Would definitely repurchase despite the high price point. I love Aveda!!!

I recently started using this with the Outer Peace foaming cleanser and I can actually say it is helping. My face is clearer and I have a lot less pimples developing. It works.

I love this moisturizer! It actually feels like my skin is being moisturized without causing more breakouts unlike clinique acne moisturizer. I have really oily skin and this did't add to the oilyness at all! Kind of smells like sawdust which is kind of weird, but not bothersome. I only use a tiny bit twice a day, so even though its a small bottle it will last at least 4 months. Love the outerpeace line!

I've been using this lotion for 5 days now, and so far I love it. I had a facial at an Aveda spa and was told that it would help my skin and it has. I've been using the lotion in the day and the outer peace pads at night with a moisturizer so that I don't dry out my skin and my face started to clear up instantly. This lotion feels very comfortable on my skin, it doesn't dry it out like other acne lotions that I've tried.It doesn't smell great (I think most Aveda stuff does) but the smell goes away pretty quickly and to be honest, if it's working i really don't care what it smells like. :)
I just wish it was cheaper. :(

I always end up going back to this moisturizer as I love the smell and texture. It seems to help keep my skin less oily throughout the day too. Combined with a good cleanser and toner my skin is pretty spot free.
I would recommend all the outer peace range it really helped clear my skin up when I had a bad break out.

This is a good moisturizer but it is not effective in treating cystic acne but I wasn't expecting that it would. It does help purge all those "seed" like acne I get around my forehead. I am so on the fence on repurchasing this because it is pretty pricey and I don't believe Aveda puts their products on sale.

i am used to using peter thomas roth. i used to break out all the time on my cheecks.but once i tried this line i fell in love with it. the thing about aveda products is that you have to use them together. i use the foaming cleanser(outer peace) the toner, the exfoliator(only at night) and the moisturizer. this is perfect for me i love it. once i finished my first set i figuered id try something else bad mistake. i broke out really bad. so i switched over and ill keep using it until they discontinue it because thats what they always do they always discontinue everything that works for me.

I was really unhappy with this product. I have mild acne and this lotion didn't help it at all. I liked the smell and that was about it. Its pretty expensive for such a small container.

I've been using this only at night for the last couple of weeks and it really helps to keep small blemishes away. The smell is a little funny but it sinks in fast and it dosen't try out my sensitive skin.

I've found that the more chemicals there are in something, my skin sure reacts to it. So I've started to try the Aveda line for my face. I like this lightweight lotion, it smells kind of weird- herby- but it sinks in really fast and I don't have any reactions to it at all. it doesn't make me greasy which is a plus. I think that its been helping keep breakouts at bay from external pollutants and so far after 3 months this lotion has me hooked. I'm already on my second tube. I think the packaging is kind of cheap- but the way its designed gravity gets the rest of the product out, which is good. I use it twice a day, morning and before bed- when I get up my skin looks pretty nice for once! Hopefully my skin will not get used to this and lose the effectiveness but until then, I'll stay happy with this product.

Great product!! Probably not strong enough to actually clear acne, but will calm skin and reduce redness. Has a great scent and is not oily. Only downside is its very pricey!

I really like this product. So far I've been using for about 3-4 months. I started with this in the A.M., the Outer Peace Pads in the P.M. and the Masque occassionally. I was still using my proactiv cleanser for the beginning. Additionally, I would use the spot treatment when needed.
When I started this line, I truly was suffering from bad breakouts. I have had acne for most of my life and usually the only way I can slow them down is by taking birth control. I don't want to do that though (personal reasons). So I've used Proactiv - Skin peels, I get read and react very badly at the beginning. I did microdermabrasion treatments, I've used dermatologist prescribed products and nothing. I've tried Philosophy and many other brands and still ..no major improvement.
I finally gave in and tried this line..I am so happy I did. The moisturizer soothes and helps prevent pimples during the day. At night the pads (which are stronger) help heal and clear up skin. The masque adds a kick start and soothes my skin especially if I have any breakouts. The spot treatment helps speed up the healing of larger breakouts.
Proactiv's cleanser always made my skin feel irritated and I didn't feel that it was removing my makeup well. I finally started using the Outer Peace Cleanser this week. So far so good!
The lotion is fabulous and it has really kept my skin moisturized and helped me achieve clear skin. I am happy.
I feel that all the products for the outer peace line are pricey but well worth it. The one moisturizer bottle lasted me close to 4 months.

This product made my skin more oily than it already is so i am just gunna use the last bottle i have and thn use cinique!

I had my first aveda facial the other day and the therapist recommened this for my skin. I am 31 with oily skin that breaks out around that time of the month. I don't have chronic acne anymore but the skin is still prone to the regular spot for half the month. This is a light herbal smelling moisturiser which leaves a lovely matte finish - not ultra matte but not oily. Very pricey (can't imagine any spotty teenagers being able to afford this line in all honesty) but I am happy with it so far.

I really wanted to love this product, as I love Aveda generally, but this really didn't work for me.
I have chronic acne, which i've had for years. I tried this out on the only area of my skin which has no blemishes and it seemed fine, so i tried it all over. After a week of using I got a breakout on the only area of my skin where i didn't have spots, which was followed by a general worsening of everywhere else on my face. The product itself felt fine on my face, not too thick (I only used a small amount though) and it absorbed easily, but it made me acne worse which defeats the object of the product.

I had been eying this in my salon for several months, but my skin is so temperamental with *any* moisturizers that I avoided trying this. Historically, even many of the lightest-weight moisturizers clog my pores and really give me congested-feeling skin. My esthetician gave me a sample to try and I purchased the full size after using this for a week. I like it. First. there's no SPF, which is one culprit of my clogged pores. Second, it's definitely oil-free and lightweight. These traits combined help this to work for me. I can't use it on my forehead, but it works well on my cheeks, jaw line, and chin where I tend to get dry patches. I have true combination skin, and this seems to add the moisture I need without congestion. The added benefit of acne relief definitely helps when I get a few blemishes.

Again, very oily skin and I love this moisturizer, wasn't gonna buy it because it said it was an acne relief, but I use it as a moisturizer and it works great, never oily buildup after moisturizing. I don't and have rarely used moisturizers because immediately it will make my face too oily, not with this one!

This has been the only lotion that has really controlled oil for me (and I've tried so so much). It smells nice and lasts forever! You only need a little bit to cover the whole face.
Use this line (the Aveda Outer Peace line). My face has never looked so amazing. It has worked wonders on my skin!

I like using this lightweight, lightly scented lotion. I swear it has helped my blemishes heal faster, fade faster (I have VERY fair skin, so those red marks stand out!), AND the texture of my skin has significantly improved. I do use the entire line, though, but I think this is what really helps with the above items!
