I got this from the Murad salon in NYC. The technician (professional) did a test on my skin and recommended this eye cream (along with a bunch of other Murad products that did not deliver as promise).
My main concern- I have dark eye circles. I think people are split between 2 reasons for dark eye circles, hereditary and environmental. I think I am hereditary. So when the technician tested me and told me this will work, I bought it and religiously used this for 3 months. Nothing happened. In fact, it made my skin really dry and now, not only do I have dark eye circles, I also have fine lines that can be seen when I apply concealer. It really was a great waste of money.
Honestly, I'm not upset that this failed, but I'm upset cause the Murad "skin professional" recommended this after testing my skin... claiming that it would work for my skin type/problem.

To be honest i think this actually made my dark circles worse :(. The very first day i sampled it, i only used it on one eye so i could see a difference and yes after the first day i saw a huge improvement. my dark circle on that eye was very lightened but after continuous use they have been looking worse. But i did notice that if you use a lot at once it seems to fade them quicker but then after more continues use they seemed worse again. So this dose not work for me. So glad i tried a sample before busting out 70 bucks for this "miracle worker" :P

I have hereditary dark circles and since many other reviewers on here said it worked for them and their hereditary circles, I decided to give it a try. It's been about two weeks now and all I have to show for $67 and 2 weeks of consistent use are tiny red bumps on my under eyes. Grossly disappointed. I really thought this was going to be it, but I was wrong. I saw little to no results. Still on the look out for the something that will at least show some kind of result..

I have hereditary panda eyes, and this is the first product that I have found that actually works for me.
At first, I used this every night. Then when I noticed (very quickly) that my dark circles have faded significantly, I eased up and only used it once to twice a week.
I do however agree that this stuff has a low shelf life. I contacted Murad about this, and they tell me that it's normal. Once oxygen enters the product, it will slowly change color. To prevent this, close the cap TIGHT after you use it. Do not buy it from 2nd retailers like Sephora, Ulta, BBW and most importantly, NOT Ebay. buy it directly from Murad store or via online. When you purchase it from a 2nd retailer, you really don't know how long it has been sitting there, in storage, or in a warehouse. ((My grip to Murad would be, if you know this is a problem, why don't you create a container that will keep oxygen OUT as much as possible??)
BUT, This stuff is really a dream for under eye dark circles.
To make this work for you, read instructions below:
THIS IS A NIGHT REGIMEN!
Put this on after you have washed your face and your eye area have dried. If it's still wet, take a towel and DAB the remaining moisture off. Don't WIPE, your eyes tissues are really delicate! Take your index finger, and squeeze a small amount onto it. Then make several dots of the cream under your eyes and on the inner part of your eye socket closes to your nose. Then, INSTEAD of using your finger to spread the product, use your index finger and make small rolling motions from left to right. Do this all around the area's that you have applied the treatment. Now go to sleep!
Hint: In any night treatment, there is no use putting in on if you remain active. For it to work, you MUST go to bed under NORMAL sleeping hours. Even though YOU might have late sleeping habits, your body doesn't. Night products works best when we are asleep and around the 3-5 am hours. This concept is similar to colds or flu that have cough. Many people wonder why they are more severe at night than day. This is because your body has been working around the clock and it needs rest, time to shut down your active body functions and focus on repairing and generating new cells. If you are up, you are not letting your body do that job.

This stuff is pretty good. I have tried every eye cream under the sun to help lighten the darkness under my eye. This is the first product I've used that has done what it promises and fast. I've only been using it for a week every night and at first I thought I was imagining it. But I realized it has helped with the darkness about 50% already and I'm excited to see how much more it will help after I continue using it.
The thing is I think this eyecream would only help people with dark circles that affect only the upper layers of the skin, meaning any discoloration under the eye caused from sun, rubbing of the eye, etc. I'm not sure how much it would help with the deep bluish cast left by blood vessels showing through thin skin. I think it would help lighten the look of bluish dark circles because it would lighten the undereye but if the bluish dark circles are your main problem, this product is probably not worth it.
An important factor when using this product, since it contains hydroquinone, is you have to use spf. I use this great eye cream with spf in the morning by Shiseido. I put it on under my eye and wait 5 minutes for it to sink in while doing my other makeup and then put a light concealer over it. It actually helps the concealer stick very nicely. I've been using spf under my eyes for a while, it's very important in keeping the dark circles at bay.
This product is very expensive, $75 but I got mine off ebay for about $32. If I had to pay full price, I would probably hesitate a little but I would still repurchase.

This stuff makes a HUGE difference on my dark circles. I've been using it for about 2 or 3 weeks & I can tell a major difference. What I've noticed, though, is that you have to really be careful to only apply it under your eye where the circles are b/c putting it anywhere else near the eye area will dry your skin like nobody's business. But, the product doesn't claim to be a moisturizer, I guess. Anyway, it does what it says it does & I will continue to use it. I def. recommend if dark undereye circles are an issue. continued >>

overnight result! I put some on one night, woke up next morning and it was gone by 50 percent! I love it. Must use it with SPF if use during day time though because of the hydroquonone.

I tried the eye cream on one eye and a Arden's eyecream on the other for three months. No visible difference was observed. I do not see my dark eye circles become lighter.
I was disappointed, so I stopped using it for two weeks. Then I found the eye cream turned into nasty grey color. It goes bad faster than average eye creams.

This product simply does work for diminishing dark circles. Within a few days of using it, I noticed a significant decrease in my under-eye circles and within a week had managed to wean off my trusty concealer with Haloxyl.
Unfortunately, I discovered a previously unknown sensitivity to Hydroquinone. I broke out in scaly red patches under my eyes after about 2 weeks of use. I had to seriously consider the pros and cons before deciding very reluctantly to stop using the product.

I usually love murad's products, but this is one of the few that I don't like at all. It did nothing for my eyes, except irritate them. I've gotten use to eye products that don't do what they promise, but at 75.00? That just made it so much worse.

I've been using this eye cream for about a month, and noticed a major difference. I have olive skin, and since I was little have always had dark circles under my eyes and the skin above was always darker then the rest of my face.
This eye cream has lighten the skin on my upper eyelid and also reduced the dark circles. Now, it did not make my dark circles disappear, but it reduced them significantly, and its only been a month.
A lot of people said this irritated their skin and made the dark circles worse. Hydroquinone can be an irritant for many people, so before using, i would make sure you are not allergic or sensitive to hydroquinone, and also do not mix this eye cream with any other creams that have hydroxy in it.
I have very sensitive skin, but have used products with hydroquinone, and never had a problem.
I most definitely recommend this to anyone who does not have an allergy to hydroquinone. Also give it time, and you will see the results.

I'm nearing the end of my first tube and my eyes are significantly improved. My dark circles are lightened and the skin is less crinkly. The lid cracked however and not long after the product turned a brownish color. A Murad Rep at ULTA told me that's okay - and a result of air getting in the tube. It still works and I will repurchase but it's not the first time I've had problems with the packaging on Murad products.

This treatment is definitely giving me results, although not as quickly as I have hoped- but this is all based on what I have read in Beauty Magazines, which have really hyped this product to an extreme. I think that my expectations are actually too high. I've been using it for about 2 months and I have definitely achieved considerable lightening of my dark circles, and my undereye area is less sallow. I don't look so tired and sunken in the morning. I definitely will continue using this, as it is the ONLY thing that has worked for me in the eye area so far!!! Cons- it has kind of a funny smell and makes my eyes a bit watery. Also, I'm not so sure it is really nourishing for my eye area, as I am 38- so I wait for it to fully absorb and then about 5-6 minutes later I apply my eye creme, which right now is Prevage. I am happy with the value of this product, it definitely is working and it only takes a very small amount to treat my eyes each night. The results have been worth it. Would recommend!

you know what, I like this eye treatment! I hate greasy eye creams so this being light is nice and refreshing. I also have noticed a difference in my dark circles and puffiness, they aren't gone but definetly a lot better, maybe they will get even better in time. I think this is even helping with the little fine lines I have. Although nothing beats my HG eye cream (Elysee- The gift wrinkle control eye cream, its light, it depuffs, it smooths, it's great you have to try it!), I use this underneath it for more help with dark circles. I'll keep you updated though.

This product got so much hype but it's outrageously overpriced and I never noticed a bit of difference.

I used this product for almost a month (packaging says 6 wks) but saw no results with lightening. It is very drying as well and will accentuate any lines/wrinkes.

I guess I'm one of the few who actually saw good results from this. This product intended to lighten hyperpigmentation around the eye area using vitamin c and hydroquinone - which is exactly what I had from sun exposure. I don't/didn't have dark circles or puffiness under my eyes - just "age spots" and a lot of freckles that I didn't use to have.
Any time you use a skin lightener/bleacher, it's critical that you use sunscreen to prevent darkening from ocurring - it does state this pretty explicitly on the packaging, instructions, and the back of the tube. I've been using this for about 4 months and it has COMPLETELY eliminated all of the hyperpigmentation spots I had under and around my eyes. The skin under my eyes is definitely firmer, lighter, more even-toned. At 33, my eyes look younger than they did in my 20s! Make sure to use sunscreen - I'll always do this from now on to prevent the age spots for ocurring again.
One other thing - this tube lasts forever! Yes, it's pricey, but I've had the tube for 4 months and I still have enough to last me another month. You only need a tiny amount on each eye.

Ladies let me tell you..I got this and it's the most expensive mistake I've made!! I got this around december of 2006 and I noticed that it was starting to make my dark circle much darker..so I stopped using it after a few weeks. Then I started college this yr studying Paramedical skin care & in cosmetic chemistry we went over hydroquinone (this is the only active ingredient in this eye cream in 0.5% concentration) it is actually a bleaching agent..but how it works is by supressing our natural melonocytes (melanin..this is responsible for our pigment and protection from UV damage) so it slows the production of these cells causing us to be totally at the sun's UV mercy..hence why the dark circles were getting darker!! The cream was depleting my melanocytes and leaving my skin less responsive to protecting from UV rays. You never want to do this...this is going to cause hyperpigmentation!!
Also, many dermatologists along with the FDA are reviewing whether or not to EVEN ALLOW hydroquinone to remain on the consumer market for it's safety..they want a Dermatologist to have to prescribe all strengths (right now we can get up to 2% w/o Rx)
keep well away from this product!! Not good for your skin and if your not religious about daily high SPF then forget about it..it will only make your dark circles worst)

This product sucked. I got more comments about how horrible my eyes looked in the four weeks I tried this than I ever have in my life. And the price. Ouch!!!! I'm back to good old Clinique All About Eyes. At least that is moisturizing.
