My former favorite was the discontinued Adidas Cotton Tech.
This is my new favorite!
A clear solid, has no fragrance whatsoever and survives 45+ minutes of intense cardio! Stings a little bit, but only after shaving. Doesn't leave any marks on clothing which is a huge plus! Goes on smooth!
Wish Trader Joe's made this in fragrances but it's also perfect on its own!
Cap closes tightly. I have no complaints. :)
Wow, a lot of polarity on this product, seems like people either love or hate it. I will try to add some perspective. I really, really like this product a lot and use it in summer and winter. I've tried other natural brands (Tom's included) that haven't worked as well for me. Some things to consider:
--What are your expectations? If you're someone who wants the perfumey smell and totally dry underarms, this is not for you. I believe it's healthy to let my pores breathe a bit. This mitigates, but does not totally eliminate sweat. I am a lot drier with it, but if I work out I will sweat. Also, while I don't have noticeable BO when I wear it, if i stick my face in my underarm and smell, yes, it will smell like...an armpit! Lol.
--How much do you sweat? I do not sweat heavily, but this may not be enough for someone who does.
--How are you using it? This can vary the performance of the product a lot for me. The most effective way I've used this is after a shower on dry underarms, then let it absorb for 5 or 10 minutes before getting dressed. If I use it mid-day or before I go out somewhere it doesn't absorb and makes me feel sticky.
In summary, not a good product in my opinion for those who sweat heavily or for those who are used to the results of aluminum-containing scented brands. Also to be noted, I haven't had any negative reactions or rashes with it, but that skin under there is sensitive so be sure to keep your receipt in case you have any problems with it, and maybe do a test patch first. Hopefully this was helpful. :)

I'm still on the hunt for a good natural deodorant. Unfortunately, this wasn't it. I liked that it doesn't smell as strong as most commercial deodorants, but it didn't do much to prevent sweat. It helped blocked odor for a little while, but it wears off fast. I'll just have to keep hunting....
I have been using natural deodorants for about two years, and this one has worked best for me. At the end of the day, there is absolutely NO odor, which is something I didn't even accomplish when I used regular antiperspirants. I probably sweat about the same amount using this deodorant as I would with a regular antiperspirant. Looking at other reviews, it seems that you either love it or hate it. It's reasonably priced so I say it's worth a try for someone who is on the fence.

I really wanted to love this. I have it for sensitive skin, and while it does seem to soothe the irritation of shaving, I can't say without lying that it protects against odor. It just didn't hold up, not even on short walks to the drugstore or bus stop. Shame.
Wow, I am really surprised by the low rating for Trader Joe's Deodorant. I've had such a good experience with it. I've tried several unscented deodorants without aluminum, and none of them actually protect against odor... except Trader Joe's! I am a sweaty gal, and I was really impressed that, at the end of the day, there was no (or very little, depending on activity) odor. Maybe it's the cotton fibers, but I've also noticed less wetness as well (although I wasn't expecting that, seeing as how it is not an anti-perspirant). So glad I found this!

A response to Thumbelina1's review: Dear if you are not going through menopause, then everything you have said is true. For everyone else, this is really not adequate in our society, where everyone expects us to smell flowery. Have you had any hot flashes?
I suspected not yet. Just trying to give my most honest opinion about these products, and believe me, I am very environmentally aware and active. This sucker just does not fit the bill.
This is really not the most effective product out there. I can smell that I "smell" more when using this product. I bathe every day, so it is not an issue. No one has commented (thank goodness), but I can tell the difference. For those of you ladies who are very active, and/or may not shower daily, this is honestly not what I would consider the best option. I do not think that I will be re purchasing this product.
(Somehow, I think that we must do a tradeoff in some cases when it come to effective products, sadly!) Just my opinion.
I will continue using it up for Winter months, but I am afraid that I will need something a little heavier in summer months. (This is based of course on United States standards of hygiene. I would not think twice about using it all the time if I lived in Europe.)
I loved the idea of a deoderant with no aluminum but In the this didn't work for me. After the day was done I feel like I was actually more damp than if i hadn't put anything on :c
I'll stick with the body shop's natural deodorant.
i'm guessing it's a matter of body chemistry if this works for you or not.. for me it WORKED! and i walk everywhere and tend to sweat a bit. i have been looking for an all natural non-pore clogging deodorant because i developed cysts (benign) in my underarm area after using the nasties with aluminum and it's just not worth the risk with chemical laden deodorants: not having that surgery again, thank-you!
this actually kept me dry too. i was really surprised. it seems it either works great or not at all depending on your body chemistry, but all in all the $3 is totally worth the risk because when it works it totally works.
