I only used this conditioner (along with DevaCurl Low Poo) a handful of times but I couldn't continue. I have red dyed hair over natural blonde, oily roots and dry ends (mid back length). I found it did naught to condition my hair after the Low Poo dried my hair out. It made combing my hair a nightmare.
As with Low Poo, I strongly dislike the smell, it reminds me of bathroom/toilet cleaner.
I had it shipped to AUS from the US so I really wanted it to be my HG conditioner (and shampoo). I will keep searching.
I have very thick, dry, frizzy, wavy hair. While the No-Poo and One Condition seemed to give my waves more definition, it also left them extremely sticky and coated feeling. Blow drying my hair straight was an absolute nightmare with this product due to the stickiness. Also, it takes a lot product to shampoo or condition. Though I did find that the conditioner spreads better if your hair is soaking wet when you apply it.
I looove this. Never going back to pantene!!
I have long Botticelli type curly hair, and this conditioner leaves my curls soft and hydrated. I used to wash my hair every other day using other conditioners, not because it was really dirty but because my hair would just be so tangled and frizzy by then...but now my curls stay defined and they look sooo much better! I wash my hair less often now, which I really like because it is SUCH a pain to brush out and go through the routine...that also means I use less product!
I put on quite a bit (my hair is really long), leave it in for a minute or two, and then brush out gently, not rinsing. Once out of the shower I use DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel.
Yeah its pricey, but totally worth it. I've had no negative side effects from it, I read one review where the user broke out on her scalp, that did not happen to me, and I have dry acne-prone skin.

It smells like papaya and papaya seeds! haha I like this conditioner, but i feel like the pricing it WAAAAY too high! doesn't devachan know that CG's use & need craploads of conditioner, so why are we paying nearly $50 for conditioner!?? (hmm... marketing trick perhaps?) I don't really like the consistency of the product cause i feel like its too light, however, despite that sentiment it does a really good job at defining my curls! I use this on special days only cause i know if i were to use it at everywash I'd break my bank having to go back for more (use tresemme naturals on a regular day) this stuff is really hydrating, i use it with the devacurl b'leavin conditioner (AWWWEEESOMEEE) and a little of the devacurl volumizing foam mousse (better than the gel in my opinion cause it leaves your hair really soft and defined). The only reason i wouldn't repurch is because of the price, i feel as if i can get similar results with shea moisture or kinky curly.
I cannot express how much I love this. For me, it truly is a multi-tasker. I think I can finally declare it as one of my HG products because I've now gone through 3 of the 32 oz bottles.
The reason I call this a multi-tasker is because I use it for cowashing, conditioning, and as a leave in. I usually don't have luck using the same conditioner for multiple purposes but this one works perfectly for my fine, dense, dry waves. It's so nice to be able to just buy one product for all three of those.
This conditioner smells so good. To me, it's kind of lemon-limey with a touch of herbally-ness. It's really fresh smelling. It's sort of a medium thin consistency but very moisturizing and it has excellent slip for detangling. It does not build up at all on my hair.
Worked fine the first time. Made my hair soft and clean. It took 3 days for the first zit to appear on my hairline. By day 5 my whole forehead looked like a teenager with severe acne. I've never had such an awful spotty reaction to anything. I used this I n conjunction with the same brands Low Poo shampoo that goes with it. Washed my hair and I could even feel zits on my scalp. Ew. I don't know whether it was the smapoo or conditioner that did this but I did feel as if the shampoo just didn't fell as if it would wash out of my hair properly and I stayed in the shower for an hour waiting for it to feel clean.
I am reluctant to admit that this is now my go to Conditioner in my shower. It moisturizes very well, and works well as a leave in as well. No buildup, and consistently works in hard water too. I have tried this next to the Tresemme natural that is supposedly just like it and this is just better for my hair much more moisture.
Formerly my HG conditioners were tigi moisture maniac and oatmeal and honey, Both of which were discontinued. I think I have found a replacement!
This is the best daily conditioner I've found yet. It works well on my curly hair (my hair varies from spirals to waves). I use the color safe variety (lighter label), and really love it. And, I can actually comb (I have the Ouidad double tooth comb) my hair after using this (wet, of course)!!!!
I wish it were cheaper, because I think that $20 (USD) is excessive for a conditioner that lasts about one month. The bottle is large, but you need a lot of product, so it doesn't last that long. Overall, I will continue to purchase.
I tried this conditioner, and overall thought it was pretty good. You just have to leave it in a while, then it does its job. I didn't care much for the smell, but I can deal with it. I thought after bl0ow drying my hair, that the result was lovely. I put some curls in my hair, and they held well. A lot of conditioners I have trouble with, because it makes my hair too soft, and my hair won't hold curls. I liked it, I am just not wild about the smell.
Everyone always talks about One Condition like there's only one version. And it's no wonder.. why Deva named 2 conditioners from 2 separate lines the same thing, I don't understand. But there is a DevaCurl and a DevaCare version. I am going to compare them in both review spots in case anyone is comparing the two.
DevaCURL One Condition (white colored) did not feel quite moisturizing enough, imo, but in all honesty was okay. Gave some shine and didn't weigh down my hair, but had a floral-scented-glue smell. I probably wouldn't repurchase but may if my hair didn't need a lot of moisture at the time (I'll update if I do). I got through an entire bottle of this, so that says it's pretty okay, even if I didn't love it. I am not the type to use up a remotely bad product. As you can tell I am on the fence with this one.
DevaCARE One Condition (orangey colored) was okay as far as moisturizing, felt a little thicker/creamier than its sister product... but has the funkiest smell I cannot live with. Out of the bottle I thought it was an improvement over the weird glue-like smell of Devacurl: it seemed to smell like an orange creamsicle. But on my hair/skin it just goes wrong.. I would have to say it smells like orange cream + BO flavored raw meat, if such a thing existed. No other conditioners have this effect lol, just this one. And it is bad enough I feel gross after using it, and therefore, won't.
