This review is for Aveda Petal Essence Single Eye Colour in 942 Illumination
I bought this eyeshadow as a highlighter to use on the brow bone and inside corners. I am very pale and this is a nice option for a warm toned highlighter that isn't super white. It's talc and paraben free which is great, and the packaging is just the small plastic that Aveda uses which I also like. My only complaint, that I've heard from others as well, is that the product doesn't transfer from palette to brush easily. I have some other Aveda shadows and they are the same way (the require a little work and after a while could prematurely destroy a brush). Also, the colour selection for this line sucks.

The best bronze eye shadow I have come across. really blows NARS out of the water, which is my favorite brand. This looks really amazing paired with NARS Corfu which is taupe, shimmery cream shadow. Desert bronze really is great for that summer glow look.

I wet a small eyeliner brush and apply this shadow as a natural-looking eyeliner. It's the best brown eyeliner I've found! I've had the eyeshadow I bought for three years and I use it almost every day, so it's worth the price for something so long-lasting! I highly recommend Aveda eyeshadows in general for a natural look and ingredients that are non-irritating and good for your skin. Be warned: you need to buy a separate magnetic compact to hold and protect it.

Love this eyeshadow! My eyes are blue/grey and this color really brings out the blue, which I am definitely all for. I use this in the crease with Illumination on the rest of my lids and the combination provides the perfect contrast. The shimmery deep bronze color also makes it great for doing a different twist on a smoky eye. And I am in love with being able to put this into my overall Aveda compact with my powder foundation and blush - everything I need right in one sleek little place.

Great colour. I wear this with Aveda's eyeliner in Agate and shadow in Illumination and it makes my blue eyes pop. Desert Bronze it a highly pigmented deep shimmery gold-brown that's too dark to really be considered a "bronze." When I wear this I find I get a lot of compliments on the colour of my eyes, not my eye shadow, which is really nice.
