I only got the Vidal Sassoon Slim Ceramic Straightener from Target awhile back for under $30, and it was well worth the money I spent. Lately I have been having an obsession with straight bangs, and this the the tool to get it done. I get get it bone straight or with a bit of lift and curl. This straightener also has rubber on it to help hold it while straightening, but what I love most are the rubber that are parallel to the ceramic plates. If you place your hair on it as you straighten, the rubber pulls your hair ever so lightly to prevent that flat curl look that some straighteners give you. It has a smooth glide for it's price and leaves my hair looking super shiny. However, I did need some practice to get used to it and not so fun with long hair. Highly recommended for the hair goddess on a budget.

This costs $40 (the most expensive flat iron at Target) and works like a $5 one. Yes, it's 100% solid and does not pull the hair, BUT this flat iron does NOT heat up enough to straighten my hair. I use a Conair professional straightener before this and it works so well, but I wanted something better. I was relunctant to pay $100+ for a really good one. When I saw this at Target, I thought this would be a good knock-out for these highend flat irons: CHI, HAI, T3, and Sedu flat iron. BIG mistake. It claims that it has 25 heat settings, but the spinning wheel is too small, it's more like 3 different settings. I put it to the highest heat level, and it still wasn't hot enough to straighten my hair. My hair is not wavy or anything, but I want it to be straw-like straight when I get out of bed. Anyways, this thing is going back to the store! I wouldn't pay more than 2 bucks for this. I hope this will help someone who's deciding to buy this.
