This provides quite excellent protection. I wore it all week in Hawaii. I was outdoors all day every day swimming, hiking, boating, etc. and didn't get even a little bit of color. I did wear a hat and reapply when I got wet, of course. Sadly I can't give it a 5 because it had such a greasy texture and ended up clogging my pores. Having melasma, I found it worth it to not end up with splotches but I'll stick with the BIO Lait for daily wear.

I love this stuff! I've definitely found my hg sunscreen. I believe it's the newest version (purchased end of May from Tubotica). It leaves no white cast on me whatsoever. Sinks right in. I use a dusting of NYC translucent loose powder over it and it stays mostly matte all day. Sometimes I may have to blot my forehead once. It doesn't feel greasy or sticky. I'm so pleased that this worked out for me because I had tried a couple of euro sunscreens and had nothing but stickiness and shine! I'm trying the lait next, as I understand it's the same as the fluide but you get twice as much in a tube. Hopefully, it will be the same.

Apparently this is the second version. I got mine in Jan. 2006, but by April they had reformulated again.
This review is for the "New Light Texture" reformulated version for mixed or oily skin. MAX Fluid is liquidy, light, non-greasy, and non-sticky. I measure a full 1/4 tsp for my face and it sinks right in, leaving my face matte/slightly dewy. I have experienced no breakouts.

However, it leaves a horrible grey/lavendar cast and a slick slimy finish to the touch. You can add a drop of MAX Creme Tinted spf50+ if that looks natural on you. It still looks fake on me; it's like wearing a tinted moisturizer with the wrong tint. I also tried mixing with LRP XL Tinted Cream spf50+; the result was the same. This also stings my eyes sometimes, and my eyes are not sensitive.
