Love this lip scrub by Sarah Happ. I use it on my lips for about a minute morning and night. My lips feel so soft after I use it because it scrubs off all the dead skin. It smells amazing, and the product itself tastes delicious. However, since the ingredients to the product are listed on the side of the packaging, I felt like I can make the exact thing at home. I do love this, but it was a bit pricey. If you're on a budget, I'd recommend for you to look up the ingredients and make this scrub yourself at home. I just bought it because I was too lazy to make the concoction, and all the ingredients put together costed about the same amount as The Lip Scrub (however, you get way more). The jar does last a long time, though. And a bit of residue from the scrub is left on your lips after you wash it off, making it feel soft and moisturized. I would recommend this product if you're not on a budget. If you're not, you can simply make this at home.

I am going to disagree with the rest of MUA here and give this product a GOOD rating DESPITE its seemingly high price.
Yes, I recognize that it is super easy to make your own similar lip scrub using sugar, vaseline, honey, and olive oil for less than a tenth of the price.
Yes, this scrub seems super overpriced for the materials used to make it.
Yes, the celebrity marketing scheme is totally obnoxious.
Here's why I would repurchase without hesitation if I ever run out of this pot:
FIRST, I've made my own scrub but I could NEVER get the texture of my own product to be as pleasant as Sara Happ's. My DIY scrub was always too greasy, too clumpy, and too messy. I had to wash it off with water every time I used it, which was extremely inconvenient when I'm rushing out the door in the morning, and I would inevitably wash off some of my foundation/other make up if I already had it on. sara happ's has a GREAT texture that I can really tissue off or lick off.
If you have chronically dry, flakey lips like I do, obviously follow up with a lip balm after using. My favorite is Lypsyl.
SECOND, my DIY scrub starts to smell funky after a few weeks. sara happ's smells and tastes great over the months--no doubt to due to their manufactured fragrance/preservative. As someone who hasn't bought into the blind fearmongering over parabens and ingredients like petrolatum, this doesn't bother me and I love that it keeps.
THIRD, if you compare sara happ's portions to other similar lip scrubs on the market, this is actually great value for the money. Other lip scrubs are the same cost for much less product. Ex philosophy, bite, etc. I know lush has a lip scrub as well that costs less, but its texture is far inferior and much more messy than this one. Plus I've always hated the cloying smell of the Lush store--just walking into one makes me feel like I'm about to break out into hives.
Bottom line: it works as advertised--gets rid of flakes and preps lips for lipstick application, smells great and lasts a long time. It's good value for money, and is superior in both quality and value to other lip scrubs on the market.
Would repurchase.

If youve noticed, all of thr bad reviews are about THE PRICE not the actual quality of theproduct which is gosh darn amazing..Guys, hear me out on this...I have the absolute WORST lips ever created and I've tried every lip scrub known to man. Lush, fresh, fabulips, red salvation, etc etc..you name it. THIS IS THE BEST LIP SCRUB IN THE ENTIRE WORLD...it's worth the price cause it's 300 times better than fresh's terrible 20 dollar lip polish. For the first time I actually have a lip scrub that's abrasive enough to exfoliate my terrible lips, moisturize like a boss so they're soft AND tastes great and lasts long! Don't Buy ANYTHING else. You won't find anything better than this. Apply, scrub fast but gently, wipe away with a tissue. It's that simple. I can now have a boyfriend who won't leave Me for my chapped lips! I STRONGLY suggest using this with the lip slip but my eos works wonders with it too! If you're not getting the right results YOU AREN'T DOING IT RIGHT!!! Man, it does an amazingggg job for my lips, if only it was 12 dollars cheaper, and there wasn't petrolatum, I would buy HUNDREDS of these. Now I really wonder "how I lived without it"

The second ingredient in th Lip Scrub by Sara Happ is Petroleum - you can google about petroleum and health risks associated with it - I bought this product and am throwing it away immediately!:

A great alternative with much better ingredients (although still a pricy product for what it is!) is Clovertree Lip Scrub - I have the Sugared Vanilla and it is delish!!

I would never buy this again. It is just a simple sugar lip scrub anyone can make in their kitchen or buy any lip scrubs it works exactly the same. Sara Happ hasn't impressed me with any of her products. At least this works though unlike the lip slip, which is just vaseline. This smells good but c'mon it's not worth 24$ at all. I wasted my money man.

I read how Sara Happ wasn't satisfied with the washcloth method or a baby toothbrush so she wanted to create a scrub tobdo the job. I read Gwyneth Paltrow named it as a product she loves. It must be amazing... No, it's not. The nessary ingredients are available anywhere, you could make 100+ batches for the price of 1 1 oz jar. The packaging isn't special in any way, it's just a cheap plastic jar. I can now say I tried it and I can now make my own a 100 times over at her prices.

Definitely NOT worth the price. Got caught in the madness and ordered expecting it to be a life saver for my chapped lips. Could probably make this at home on my own it just seems like a brown sugar mixture. It is cute though and it does exfoliate, but it hasn't significantly changed the state of my lips.

I can't recall another beauty product that swept the celebrity scene like this one. Tons of editorial coverage, too. Turns out, it is totally cute, very fragrant, and completely superfluous. It's essentially oil added to brown sugar so it can exfoliate and moisturize at the same time, though this simple package becomes much more appealing with the infusion of the vanilla scent. So it's a $25 lesson for me, and I have my weak resistance to chic packaging to blame. For those who are wiser, there isn't anything you can achieve with this that a gentle application of your regular scrub (plus lip balm) can't. Should you decide to get this, do use it often and keep an eye on the expiration date, which comes up a lot sooner than you realize. Actually, the smell turns foul as a reminder. I think there is a 3-jar gift set available at one point. Now I'm curious who'd use up that much of this. A little goes a long way, and mine expired before I hit pan, so to speak.

Wow. Fabulously overpriced. I sampled this and yes, it is effective. However, a spot of olive oil mixed with sugar is just as effective. Plus, the Sara Happ scrubs use petroleum...yuck! For $25 I would expect a higher quality oil than that.
Save your money and head for the kitchen instead. It will take you less than 5 minutes to whip up a batch of the very same thing with ingredients you already own!

<3 this stuff! I use it at night before I go to sleep. I don't recommend taking it off with tissue as the directions suggest; I use a warm washcloth to remove the scrub from my lips. After, I slather on NIVEA lip treatment and in the morning my lips are like a model's! It is pretty expensive...but luckily for me I got it as a gift! But, I would most likely buy it for myself because I just love it so much! continued >>

Why on earth do I do it? Waste money on stupid vanity products. Wiping a rough cloth, old toothbrush, or make a paste with brown sugar, would all have the same effect - unless you have money to burn, don't bother. I have vanilla bean flavour. Will last a long time, in fact it will probably go off before it ends. Fool and her money...easily parted! ingredients: petrolatum (not a spelling mistake), sucrose, vanilla planifolia extract, brown sugar, propylparaben

Great product. May seem like a waste of time, but it isn't! I scrub three times a day, I know it's too much but it feels so damn good. My lips actually looks better in four days, smoother, more colorful and sometimes fuller(they aren't fuller, just looks more plump)! This little darling will last you a long time, you get 30 g, and remember that the lips area is very small.
UPDATE: I've had this product for a year know and I'm only 1/7 through. So I guess this product should last you about 7 years?
I don't use it three times a day anymore, but I still like it. I also lowered the rating since it's not a necessity, just fun.

Love the smell. Love the taste.
Read the reviews below - I won't give further details on cons. You have to dig it out, the brown sugar gets under your nails. It doesn't smooth on.
I do love the taste tho.

I received this as a gift. Its lovely as a way to spoil yourself. For me it left a waxy film around my mouth even though I applied it to my lips only. Some product does get on your mouth area. Once the waxy film was over my mouth it scared me. I'm prone to breakouts around my chin/mouth area. Its a pain but I find I have to used cleanser after using this around my mouth just to wash the film away. Its a drag and time consuming. A toothbrush or mixing up your own concoction of brownsugar in a base would serve just as well. I wouldn't buy this again but for now I'll enjoy the great taste/scent.

I absolutely LOVE the lip scrub in brown sugar! It not only works WONDERS, but it smells great. I have only tried it in this one flavor, but I plan to try every kind. I highly recommend applying The Lip Slip, also by Sara Happ, after using the lip scrub.

I hate myself for buying this ! I paid GBP 24,- for a pot of sticky grease with sugar in it, which doesn't do anything for me : after few weeks of regular use my lips are exactly the same dry as before. The only positive thing I can say about this product that its smell is pleasant (I have it in Bitter Almond). The pot is huge for this very product, since you can use only a tiny bit of it. It would take years to use it up, but this is a product, which you scoop with your fingers and I don't like to keep those for too long.
The only thing saving this product to get the zero rating from me is the scent.

I have this in Cinnamon Sugar- it IS expensive for a lip product but it does work. It smells and tastes devine. The jar is small but you only need such a small amount that it will last ages- i have had mine for over 9 months now and i have used 1/4 of the jar. As much as i love it, i probably wouldn't buy it again as there are cheaper versions out there.

All I have to say is Aquaphor and brown sugar...you will save yourself the $24. I mix the two spending only a few bucks. Maybe I'll use the difference to buy a mocha latte :)

This is the cutest product. Bought it on ebay after reading that it was a cult favorite among celebs, I was not disappointed. It basically is glorified vaseline with sugar, however, it smells and tastes great and really makes lips feel smooth. It does get a little clumpy so I use a tiny tiny bit. The jar looks small but you use such a small amount that this lasts and lasts. I've had mine for well over a year, maybe longer because I can't really remember. I have it in peppermint and am looking to try others. This is MUCH better than the Mary Kay lip scrub I had tried before. And how cute is the brown box?! Def try this!!
