i'm quite shocked to see such low ratings for this product. i received this in a sample tube of 30ml in a beauty subscription here in singapore. i actually really love this product. it's moisturising yet not greasy at all. it makes my hand feel really smooth after. i reckon this product won't moisturise much for a country with cold winters but for humid singapore, this item's perfect. my other favourite is l'occitane shea butter hand cream but this is slowly replacing it simply because it's not greasy at all! i really enjoy this product.. the smell's not the nicest of all hand creams out there but it works well for my hands and now i'm looking to purchase the full size!
I'm surprised this product has such low ratings! I'm actually quite happy with this product, i've been suffering with cuts, broken skin and rashes on my hands just recently (more than usual) so I've been putting on lots of different creams to try to soothe them but nothing felt comfortable until I tried this! The skin on my hands felt instantly softened and relaxed, like they had been given a spa break. The irritation of the rash had ceased too. So for me, this worked! I haven't noticed any unpleasant smell either. Elizabeth Arden's eight hour creams are a great winter SOS for me.
My husband gets angry when I use this because of the smell, he thinks it is just awful. I would use it anyway if it was a great hand cream but it just isn't.
I prefer Clarins by far.
This is an average hand cream. It feels nice when applied, but I feel like it doesn't last too long in terms of hand comfort and moisturizing. The scent is a bit strong and overwhelming. There are better hand creams out there for less money.
Pros:
Does an EXCELLENT job at moisturising my hands - I have contact dermatitis so I need a heavy duty hand cream.
Cons:
Smell is distracting and too strong. I guess it's kind of nice, but I would much prefer it didn't have a scent.
Expensive.
Overall, I really did like it as it was so effective, however my HG Kiehls does a great job as well but does not have a distracting scent.
got this as a gift, but it is horrible.
Mine smells like oregano, like, as if you rubbed it in your hands. yuck!
it's hella expensive too. it moisturises ok, i just can't stand the smell. maybe mine has that strange smell but i wouldn't buy it .
This is one of the worst handcreams I ever tried. At first, right after applying, it feels moisturizing, but after using it for some weeks now, my hands feel and look as if they have never seen any moisturizer - parched and dry. No comparison at all to the original 8hour treatment, which actually works little wonders for dry skin. Prefer most other handcreams to this, itīs really been a disappointment.
I got a small size of this in a package with the other 8 hour cream stuff. I like the other products (lip treatment and the regular cream), but not this one. I used up the whole tube and frankly, it just doesn't moisturize well enough for me. When I apply this my hands feel nice for only a short amount of time and afterwards they actually feel drier than before. I have to keep applying this a lot more often than other handcreams. I don't mind the smell or anything, it just doesn't work. The cream itself sinks in fast and that's nice. But it's very expensive & it doesn't work so I would not recommend or buy again. My Nivea or Dove handcreams work a million times better than this. continued >>

This hand cream is my HG. It moisturises without feeling sticky or greasy, its smells quite nice (although admittedly the scent is quite medicinal) and I can really see it repairing and helping my hands during our cold winter.
My SO has very very dry hands as he works on a building site, they are quite often chapped, broken, rough and sore. He won't use any other hand cream and regularly shells out the Ģ25 for this one. If he applies it once per day there is a vast improvement in the appearance and feel of his hands.
My only gripe is how expensive it is, and for this reason I do not use it all year round. I use it from October until January, and then subsitute it with Soap and Glory's Hand Food for the rest of the year!
EA are great at giving out samples, it is how I discovered it :)
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream/Lip balm is my HG for lip for the longest time I can remember. I thought I will also like the Hand treatment after hearing some good reviews on a magazine.
Unfortunately I do not like it at all. It gives too much "slip" after application. It makes me feel that my skin is not absorbing moisture at all. My hands immediately feel dry after one wash (without soap, just plain tap water). I need to use it more often than other hand creams.
I can't wait to finish the tube so that I can find better hand cream out there.
