Although I love this color, and it's super blendable & true to color, it just doesn't look good on me. I really wish it did, because I love it ): I wouldn't recommend it for blue or grey eyes. Washes your eyes out in my opinion. continued >>

I’ve had steamy for probably a good 2 years and I still can’t find a solid way to use it. The color is beautiful, and I don’t know if it’s my eye color that steers me away or what. Even when I do wear this, I feel like I only use a light wash and it ends up getting blended into one of the blues I use more often. Pretty color, but probably not for me.

I love steamy on top of a dark base like fluidline in blacktrack. The colour is beautiful and really brings out my eyes. I like to wear this on the lid with Jealousy awakes on the outer v and swimming in the crease. Vanilla to highlight.

The MAC website describes this as "Bluish-green w/gold pearl (Frost)" and that is right on. It is one of those aqua/teal shades but definitely leans more toward the green side. The swatch on their website is also pretty accurate. It's definitely a warmer rather than cooler shade.
Because it's a frost, it doesn't show up nearly as dark on your eyelid as it appears in the pan. This may be a pro or con for you depending on what you're looking for.
It's a nice shade, but I rarely use it. I would not repurchase it because I probably won't finish it, and because I don't think it's too unique. You can find something the same (or close enough at least) easily in another brand.

I borrowed this from my best friend. Her good friend recently let her borrow about 15 MAC shadows, and I'm on a mission to try them all and review them one by one. This is only the third one I've used, and it is divine. The coloring is beautiful, and very pigmented. Would definitely purchase this.

MAC Steamy always reminds me of Grey's Anatomy, Patrick Dempsey (LOL). But that is only just the name. The color is on the other hand is VERY similar to UD's Shatter, but a tad more muted. Very interesting color, but for me not an everyday color. A bit difficult to work on my very yellow undertone skin+dark brown eyes.

I love the name of this eyeshadow, but the colour doesn't quite excite me so much. Its the first MAC frost that I have bought and I think I prefer the more block colour pigmented e/s finishes. I prefer Urban Decay's 'Shattered' to this one because it is slightly more icey blue-which suits my blue eyes better. This is one of those MAC shades that I could quite easily live without.

Love, love, love this colour eye shadow. I was looking for something that would be close to the bright turquoise-y green "exclusive" shadow in Too Faced's Enchanted Glamourland. Steamy looked like a near perfect dupe in the pan. When I swatch them side by side, though, Steamy has even more of a teal/bright blue undertone that is simply gorgeous on my brown eyes. I like it even more than the Too Faced shadow I was trying to dupe. I think this shadow would be a knock-out on anyone with green or hazel eyes, and possibly blue eyes. The texture is fantastic and it applies and blends like a dream. Plays very nicely with other colours too - darker greens in the crease or neutral shades like UD Naked or TF Teddy Bear and looks amazing with violet/purple shades and darker browns. It's a colour I never would have seen myself wearing 10 years ago but, oh my, how I love this shadow.

This is such a beautiful blue-teal with a gold sheen. However, after being unable to make this work on my NC25 skin, I gave it to my NW20 friend as it looked lovely on her. Wish I could have made it work, it just seems to clash with my yellow tones. I still gave it a 4 and recommend it to cooler skin tones. I might try Shimmermoss which is a warmer teal color.

Steamy is a super, super, super pigmented green/blue/aqua, with lovely gold shimmer. Such a pretty color. I love to line my lower lash line with a wet brush with this, to make my eyes pop out. I don't have another color like this so am very glad I purchased it.

I love this color! It's a lovely blue green color and is very pigmented. It goes on silky, It doesn't take as much product as other shadows of the same consistency. Overall a great shadow!

Lovely shimmery light green with serious teal/blue undertones. Not a true green by any means, more of an aqua green with quite a bit of sparkle. I don't find it too wearable for every day looks (of course that depends on personal preference), but I like it in the inner corner finishing a dark blue or green smoky eye, or just on the lower lashline for some colorful definition. Probably wouldn't repurchase because I use it so seldom I could easily live without it. But nice color overall, rich pigmentation as well. Recommeded for bright/bling lovers.

Steamy is gorgeous in the pan, a shimmery green-blue. It looks very pretty, but I'm always disappointed by the staying power, even compared to other MAC e/s, and even though I always use a primer. There is a very similar shade in the NARS Persepolis duo, which I absolutely adore and actually lasts all day for me.

A very pretty eyeshadow. Nicely pigmented and blendable. Expensive, but a good product.

I love this color. It is very pigmented, beautiful when paired with pinks and grey.I wouldnt buy it if it was simply blue, but it has green inside and this made me to buy,it is soo beautiful, shows up really nice on hazel eyes.I would buy again once I ran out,but it is not everyday color,so hopefully will last me for very long time.:)))

The more I play with this color the more I am enjoying it. I have paired it with bronzes, purples, gold, lime tones, and black. I like that it seems to have a different effect with each combination. I am confused how some found this shade to be lacking in pigment?? Mine is very smooth and pigmented. It is a bit high on the shimmer side (FROST) but is NOT over the top shimmer. I like the gold tone it has when blended. It is true to how it apears in the pan when used on it's own. Here is another I will not think twice about shelling out another $14.50 for.
