This is just ok. It dosen't rinse very well due to the oil content so if your not careful to rinse thoroughly it can leave a residue on skin.I wouldn't buy this again, it's far too expensive for basically what's just an average cleanser. You need to use quite a lot to feel like your skin's clean. Coluld do a lot better at the drug store.

I had high hopes for this cleanser. I have sensitive skin that reacts to a lot of cleansers. I was assuming this one would be gentle, but it dried out my skin just like lots of other cleansers do. It did not feel "extra mild" by any stretch of the imagination. If you have sensitive skin and are looking for an appropriate cleanser, don't waste your time with this one.

I find the extra-mild cleanser just right for my skin, which is getting drier as I get older, but has never been particularly sensitive. I use it with the dramatically different moisturizing lotion, though I give the Clinique toner a miss after I had a reaction to it (it was the No 1 toner; perhaps the extra-mild would be okay). I use it with Thayers Rose Petal Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel instead.
The cleanser feels soothing on my face, and makes it look clean, relaxed and slightly glowing. I also love the bottle and the pump. Easy to use and it stays neat and clean. Also looks good on the counter-top. continued >>

I bought this because i heard it was the best cleanser from Clinique.
I like that it has a pump and you can lock after, so if you travel with it the cleanser will not open.
After i use this my skin gets really soft and it kinda give a glow to my skin. Even though i have comb. skin i don't feel oily or dry.
I've been using this for two weeks and it hasn't brooke me out yet.
I will continue using this.

this is a little too weak for my skin. I have extremely dry and flaky skin and this cleanser and the matching toner def helped with that, but did nothing for the acne i sometimes get. I will follow a fellow reviewers advice and mix a little tea tree oil when using to help with breakouts. if no luck i plan on trying the next step up clinique liquid soap mild

I don't like the liquid facial soap. It leaves my face feels greasy. I feel like it doesn't rinse off entirely. The clinique bar soap is much better.

I have extremely dry and sensitive skin (Type 1). I thought I would try this out because all of the drugstore cleansers seem to be too harsh for my skin. This was perfect, very smooth and non-drying, felt pretty good on my skin actually. For the most part it doesn't have a really strong fragrance which I love.
I would say after using this my skin looked better then it has in years. It made my skin feel moisturized and look more even. If you have mild sensitive skin to extremely sensitive skin like mine, this cleanser would be okay to use.
I use it with the cleansing lotion toner and the dramatically different moisturizing lotion. Little bit pricey but if you already know what works for you it saves you money in the long run.
The ONLY thing I don't like is that I ran through the bottle in just a couple of weeks.

This rinse-off cleanser irritated my Type 1 dry and sensitive skin. I do better with a rinse-off lotion cleanser.

I love this product, none of the other Clinique cleansers work for me. They are too harsh on my sensitive skin. This does leave the skin with a kind of oily layer but my skin needs that. All other products leave my skin tight. Since I started using this product in combination with the mild tonic, dramatically different moisturizing gel and Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief my skin has never looked and felt better. Now I only have to find a good eye cream/gel...

Too mild. does not remove make up very well, would definitely recomend using a make up remover before, but since i wanted a one-step cleanser and make up remover will not be re-purchasing
Edit: I did re-purchase, but I'm using Bioderma cleanser to remove eye make-up

This cleanser might be ok if you don't have dry skin. But despite the extra mild claim, i found this to be too harsh for my skin. Definitely won't be re-purchasing.

About 3 weeks ago, I decided to put my usual facial cleanser to the side (Neutrogena Deep Clean Relaxing Nightly Cleanser) because I felt like it just wasn't working hard enough for my liking anymore. So, I went to Sephora and picked this cleanser up (the Extra Mild for my dryish skin) because I've heard mostly positive things about it. I got home and immediately wanted to try it out....4 pumps into my hand seemed enough and I mixed just a dab of my usual tea tree oil in it for that extra kick my skin needs to stay clear of blemishes. To say the least, my previous cleanser has become more of a body wash (don't want to waste it!). I absolutely love this cleanser and in combination with the tea tree oil, it's even better for my skin which hasn't seen ANY breakouts since I started using it...not even during the time when I get hormonal breakouts.
I don't really know how it is as far as removing makeup goes because, again, I don't really wear it...and I haven't really needed to since using this stuff anyway. I know there are complaints that it leaves a film on your face, but I haven't had any issues with that. I will continue using this as long as it works for me like it has....and I pray that it does!

This is the cream based cleanser - no problems. Good stuff, excellent for dry/sensitive skin types. Love the pump gives you the exact amount you need

I have very dry skin and this is one of the few cleansers I've found that doesn't leave me feeling completely stripped. I bought it as a part of the whole 3 step system and this is the only product I really like from the line. It does take off makeup really well though, even the incredibly stubborn LashBlast waterproof.
The pump sucks. It completely clogged on me the first day and every day I have to untwist the bottle and rub off some product onto my hand from the inner straw thing. Very inconvenient.
Overall very good product. Not earth shattering amazing but it gets the job done :)

I am still on the fence with this cleanser. I miss the foaming action I get from other cleansers. I use it with my Clairsonic Mia. I think maybe I got the wrong one. I think this is too gentle and maybe I should have gotten the regular mild.

This is a great non-foaming cleanser. For some reason, my combination skin reacts well with most cream or lotion cleansers. Bubbly cleansers can make me break out. Removes makeup well (even waterproof mascara and liner) and leaves skin looking great.
As some reviewers have mentioned, I have noticed a mild tingling. Doesn't happen all the time and doesn't cause any further reaction. I don't mind it at all but those with very sensitive skin might want to stay away from this one.

My skin is fairly senstive, not as sensitive as some, but this product stung my skin. I was relieved to know I wasn't the only one. I wasn't sure if it was my skin reacting or if it was meant to have a tingling effect!!
I'm a huge fan of clinique products, but not this one. I find their Comfort on Call Cleanser is much better than this supposedly extra mild one.

I don't think this was supposed to happen but like some of the other reviewers, this cleanser burned my face. The next morning, my whole face was extremely dry and the area under my eyes were so irritated! I returned it and I have no clue what ingredient could cause this type of reaction!

I got a sample of this from Sephora along with the Dramatically different facial lotion. Using the two together made my skin look great. I have dry skin and this cleanser was great! Not harsh, very mild and milky texture. It took off my make up and everything else and didn't leave my skin dry and tight. I just wish it wasn't so freakin' expensive!!

I had been using Neutrogena's Skin ID regimen, but even after using it for a month and a half, I was still getting dry, flaking skin, and lots of irritation. I bought Clinique's extra mild soap hoping to get some relief, and I definitely did! It takes off the oil and sweat of the day, and doesn't burn or sting my face like other cleansers I've used. I have very sensitive skin, so need something mild, and this is it. I'm very pleased with this soap, and will definitely keep using it. LOVE it.
