This is the second time I've bought this toner. I didn't really notice a change in my skin the first time I tried this. Back then I had a lot more breakouts than I do now, hence it burnt every time I used. However I recently started using MB products again, and this time I've noticed a big change in my skin. I no longer have a lot of breakouts - just the occasional pimple and such. That's all thanks to regular use of the MB products for acne prone skin! It's a miracle what two months use of them can do for your skin... Anyway, that's why I decided to try this toner again. I needed something to help work on my congested pores because that's my main isse right now. I'd like to think this toner helps with that.
To me it doesn't quite burn. Rather it leaves my skin tingling and sometimes almost itching for just a few moments. I can definitely feel it working on my skin. It is a really strong toner. It's not for everyone. But if you have really oily skin with congested pores and what not, this is the toner for you. It's not a miracle product that changes your skin in one night, but with regular use it can do a lot for your skin. I'm using this in the evening and the special cucumber lotion in the morning, and I fully expect that in a month or two my skin will look great.

I bought this toner and gave it a try. About 1-2 weeks in it made my neck hive out and become extremely itchy! I think it was just too harsh for me. I returned it and got the aloe toner for combination/oily skin, much better! Maybe this toner would have worked over the summer for me but I tried it over the winter and I guess it was too drying and it irritated my neck.

I thought this did a great job of clearing my congested skin and preparing my face for moisturizer. It doesn't pronduce any irritation or sting for me because my face is used to AHAs and glycolic acid based products, so if you are a first time user of such products, use caution in applying it to your face. I recommend testing a small area to see if it agrees with your skin. It is a tad drying, so make sure to follow with a facial moisturizer. This is a perfect toner if you have oily, breakout-prone skin. I look forward to trying the regular glycolic acid toner and the cucumber cleansing lotion.

WARNING: Not for sensitive skin or sensitive dry skin! It's got glycolic acid and alcohol which are are both drying.
This product is clearly not for anyone, but it works WONDERS for me and I'm so glad to have repurchased it again finally! I have oil acne prone skin, I used to have really bad skin in high school, but my skin is pretty great now thanks to proper makeup removal, my clarisonic brush, and this great toner among other serums/moisturizers. I only use this toner at night, bc it could be a tad harsh, and it def does sting once you've applied it. But it leaves my skin pretty clear and I like to think that the glycolic acid helps fade my acne scars. You only need a couple drops of this toner as it is strong, so it lasts a really long time, I def had it for more than half a year. When I did finish my bottle I switched to Avalons Vitamin C toner, but it just wasnt as great as this one. I was really scared to try this toner out bc I heard your not supposed to use toners with alcohol and I had pretty bad experiences with cliniques toners (that had alcohol) but I was intrigued by the benefits of glycolic acid so I decided to buy it. So if you have oily, acne skin thats pretty resistant do try this toner, i think you'll really like it!

I meant to grab the regular Glycolic Toner and ended up with this instead. It does the job when it comes to toners but is definitely not for sensitive skin of any type. Needless to say, it works well on my tougher, combo skin. I still like the plain Glycolic better, but I will use this up since I have it. It stings a bit the first few times you use it. But I am used to peels and AHA's, so it's not a big deal for me. After about the fourth use, it didn't sting anymore. It leaves my skin cleana nd fresh but not stripped. Though it's not my favorite toner, the one thing It does do well is get rid of flakes on your face. So based on what the product is supposed to do, I rate it a 4. Works on some skin types but sensitive skin be warned that this is not for you. I suggest you get the aloe toner. I use that one after I have had any treatments. It's very soothing.
Update: Taking off a lippie. This stuff gave me a contact dermatitis reaction. Back to the store. Now I have to heal my skin! :(

I recieved this as a large sample from MB online after filling out a survey. The sample has lasted me 10 days. I have sensitive, combination skin and have noticed no stinging or tingling from this toning lotion. However, my skin does feel very dry after using it and do not like the scent even though I love grapefruit. I also notice that when using as a toner after cleansing, the product seems to suds up and form little bubbles, making my skin slightly sticky. I would not repurchase.

I love this toner! My skin feels completely clean and it left it glowing...I got it to hopefully lighten my acne scars. So far, I've noticed a few of mine become less visible.

This is like Orange Flower Water in a more pricey bottle- it literally did nothing for my skin, good or bad. It doesn't sting, it doesn't tingle, it leaves no residue, it doesn't dry me out, and perhaps most importantly, it does not tone. Next, please.

I just started using this, and it did not tingle or burn on my skin at all. I used the Glycolic Foaming Cleanser first (use it daily) and then use this toner a few times a week. It makes my skin look a lot more clear and refreshed. I love this as much as I love the Cucumber Cleansing Lotion. I always follow it up with a moisturizer though, after it's dried on my skin.

It really stings. It's not suitable for sensitive skin, and even if you don't, I don't advise you use it. Your skin becomes red and "hot". No matter what people say about such a tingling feeling being good at disinfecting or cleansing your skin, I don't think it can ever truly be good for you if it feels like that.

I wish I had read Stare_Girl's review before I tried this. Mario Badescu had sent me a bunch of samples, and I tried this toner first. As soon as it touched my skin it started to burn more than any other toner I have ever tried has ever burned before. I had to wash my face, and it still is burning. I would never touch this stuff again, and if you have sensitive skin stay far far away.

I was always afraid to use products with a Glycolic acid in them. I have super sensitive skin and everytime I would try them, they woudl burn my face. This is the first time I have ever been able to use a product with Glycolic Acid in it and not have any issues. I uses the Glycolic Foaming Fash Wash a few times a week to help with exfoliation and I use this product a few times a week to also help with exfoliation. I can't believe the difference in my skin. It looks healthy and clear! This is, by far, one of the best toners out there!!!

OUCH! If you have sensitive skin, this is definitely not the right product. I'm not sure what made me decide to try this, I guess I wanted to see if I could find something that would liven up my skin and help it stay clearer. I had previously been using the Seaweed Cleansing Lotion by MB and it's perfect... like I said, I don't know why I wanted a change. This toner is very stinging and irritates any problem areas. It also made my skin dry and feel too tight and caused it to turn red. I've used it twice and will never touch it again. I should've known better since it has alcohol in it. Those with sensitive skin at all, BEWARE.
