I have no idea where this flat iron came from. My friend found out about it at a hairdresser. But I have had them ALL over the years (and still do). I've tried CHI, T3 (all of them), GHD. I believe that Superstar is the best, which says a lot for me. People would hve to pry my T3 out of my kung fu grip to get me to even THINk of anything else. But one weekend in NY...my friends and I were dressing, both heating our flat irons...and another friend used mine T3 on one side and the Superstar on another. The superstar was shining glory, in one swipe. That was all it took for me to first shed a tear, then sigh and go find the better flat iron. For now, I am satisfied. :o)
UPDATE 2/21/2010: Still using it. Still loving it.

I LOVE my Superstar flat iron, I've had it for four years now and I've had no problems! It still heats up to the 420 degrees and straightens without a problem, however I used my friend's Solia the other day and realized what I was missing! I love my Superstar, but when that breaks, I'm definitely buying the Solia! So much smoother and softer hair!

my HAI convertable broke down on me one day and i freaked out coz i had to go to work with a rat's nest on my head...fortunately, i remembered my mom bought this flat iron that she never used so i took it from her room out of desperation till i can replace my old iron (im ordering the Sedu one based on reviews)......it heats up to 400 degrees within 14 seconds and it gets as hot as my HAI.....it is 1" and approximately weighs 2 lbs...and its infrared heat through ceramic plates...it can be purchased for an average price of $99 (its actually more expensive than my HAI)....here is my comparison with HAI....first of all, superstar doesnt glide as smooth as my HAI but both give pretty good results....i was surprised at how sleek and soft my hair looked.....unfortunately,i felt like i was dragging and tugging on my hair since the plates is not as smooth......i'd rather get the HAI than this and its cheaper......its too early to tell if this will cause further damage to my hair but i guess i'll just use this as my back up iron *UPDATE* forget superstar AND hai......get the SEDU....huuuuugeee difference...i am in love!!!!
