This is a cream that is meant to go together with the Dark Spot Corrector from Chanels new line "Performance Anti-Taches" designed to combat the problem of pigmentation discolouration and dark spots. A problem that is very hard to get rid of. And most products launched to remedy this are completely useless. This cream is supposed to increase the effect of the serum from the same line - a serum that actually shows effect! (See separate review). The cream comes in the signature Chanel squared tub and is a very watery/gel like cream that to the eye looks a bit goopy and not really pleasant, but is however a fairly potent moisturizer! (This even for my dry skin). I used the serum first for a month with a different moisturizer with an SPF, and the discolourations did start to diminish slowly due to the serum alone! But I'm sad to say adding the cream didn't really make any difference. And the lack of SPF brings me to my biggest questionmark about this cream. Why on earth have the Chanel people not put an SPF in this product since that is the most essential tool in preventing further pigment discolouration? Without that and from my experience of the two products together, I don't see much point in using this cream at all. The serum is potent enough on it's own. (Even though I can't really say anything about the cream's performance used without the serum).
The container also leaves much to desire since the consistency of the cream makes it impossible to use a spatula to pick it up. It will just slide off and end up on the floor instead of on your face... This would have been much better in a pump or a tube. But I still give it tree lippies since it's a nice moisturizer and since the "Performance Anti-Taches" line still probably is the best on the market for pigmentation discolourations.
