This product has undergone various formulation changes since it first came on the market. The formulation that I am currently using is the one that I purchased this year - 2013 (which is their most recent formulation). And, I must say, I am very, very pleased with it.

It has a nice creamy texture to it. With this product a little does truly go a long way. If you apply too much, then it will take longer for the product to fully sink into your hair. Also, this product does have a fresh, natural scent to it that is not overpowering at all. And, this product is normally offered in a regular 8.5 oz size bottle. But, there are places that do sell it in liter size too.

I ike to apply this product to my hair at least once a week, after I have fresly cleansed and conditioned my hair. I prefer to appy this leave in onto soaking wet hair versus damp. And, I do make surethat it has been evenly distributed throughout my entire head of hair, before I apply my styler over choice over it.

This product truly is weightless in texture. It never builds in my hair. And, it never leaves my hair with a white cast to it either.

It is great to use for detangling, moisturizing and helping to strenthen one's hair as well (due to the proteins that are in it).

I don't get the rave reviews. I have sorta dry wavy hair. When applied to my hair, when it dries it dries hard and a bit crunchy wherever you put it on thick. And it seems to actually make hair harder to detangle. Maybe it makes it a bit shinier, but this does nothing to make my hair less frizzy and softer. All it is is a bunch of plant extracts and some sunflower seed oil...
Returning this baby, back ya go to Whole Foods.

I can not say how much I love this product! It makes my hair feel soft and doesn't feel greasy. Its just perfect. I still have yet to find something I don't like about the Giovanni line.

Saw this on Chime Edwards YouTube channel and bought it at Target. I love this product! Works so well with my 3C curls. My hair feels healthy and I have retained so much length since I started using this product. Looking into buying it in the liter size. If your curly, you really cant use too much of this. Your hair will soak it up like a sponge.

LOOOVEEEE this conditioner! My hair is very thin and tends to get "limp" but this conditioner definitely brings out a lot of volume in it. My trick, however, is to wash most of it out after I apply it. Even though it is a leave-in conditioner, my hair is too fine to actually leave it in because it weighs it down. Therefore, I apply the conditioner, wait several minutes and then wash 75% of it out of my hair. Perfection! My hair feels soft, flowy, and manageable without being weighed down by product. Favorite conditioner of all time. :)

I LUV this leave in!!!! It makes my coarse, thick, natural hair so soft, moisturized and detangled. This is like my holy grail leave in, I can't comb without it.

I love that it is made of natural ingredients, and I don't need alot for my hair.

The only thing that I dislike about this product is that when I first apply it, it leaves a white film on my hair. Once it soaks in, then it vanishes, but it makes it hard for me to use when I am on the go.

I have tried other leave ins, but they never live up to my beloved Giovanni! As long as they make this, i will buy.

I had a bad experience with this leave in and i feel this is a bit over rated. Many people add other things to this and then state how great this product is, I tried this leave in alone and will only comment on this product on it's own. This product did nothing for my hair. detangling was difficult and did not aid in styling. Last summer I co washed my hair applied the leave and styled my hair in a single braid pony tail prior to going to the beach hours later I attempted to wash my hair and the braid was almost a dreadlock! I swim often and wear my hair in a thick braid to prevent tangles this had never happened before. I did detangle my hair after three hours of work and some hair loss. I did try the leavin in a week later to finish the bottle and it still made my tangle prone hair worse. Just because a product is natural does not mean it works well. Do not use in humid climates or go swimming in the ocean with this.

After various positive reviews I thought I would try this product as a daily moisturiser and was expecting impressive results. Unfortunately, they didn't come. This product initially left my hair dry and dull after waiting ages for it to soak in. My hair is usually glossy and soft due to castor oil which is AMAZING but it seemed like the Giovanni Direct leave-in stripped it of its moisture and gloss and left it dry and matte. It probably works wonders on other people's hair but definitely isn't right for my 4b hair. I will use the rest of the bottle because it wasn't dirt cheap but I won't be purchasing again.

Pros: Fairly light with a fresh, floral scent
Cons: Left hair dry, dull and seemed to remove any gloss

I love this!!!!!! I use it for braidouts and twistouts on my 4b hair. It moisturizes like you would not believe. The only problem (and reason why it gets 4 lippies and not 5) is because it flakes a bit. I think I can counter that by sealing with an oil while braiding and twisting. This is wonderful for a natural girl.

It's the only creamy moisturiser I'm currently using besides my natural oils (EVOO, Argan, Avocado & Macadamia butter) on my naturally coily hair.

This literally came to the rescue one day when I woke up so disappointed with the way my Afro hair felt after letting it air dry in twists with Shea butter & Jojoba oil applied.
My hair felt DRY & crunchy the next day :( I was like WTF. I think i've concluded that i'm not a Shea butter fan for use in my hair (it makes a great lip salve though)

In a desperate attempt to revive my hair without having to wash it all over again (& stop my emotions from driving me to cut it off!!) I spritzed my hair with aloe/water mix, applied some of this Leave Iin & then blow dried in sections to stretch my hair. This combi made my hair feel SO much better with added softness/sheen & i'm convinced that had it not have been for this results may not have been so great. I also use this on dry hair with no probs. I love the scent (usually I prefer things fragrance free) and I love that it's organic at an affordable price. I'm a new Giovanni fan :) continued >>
