I finally found a foundation that matches my skintone (Praline). Praline looks too dark for me in the bottle but matches well. I probably would have never tried this color but the Ulta staff fixed me up. I've been wearing this for about 3 months now. Although its matte, it still has a slight sheen which I like. It's not super drying; not overly oily. Coverage is medium and buildable. This does get shiney, but it's not sliding off my face. I'm not crazy about liquids but out of all foundations I've tried (there are many), this one is the best. I love the pump, helps keep the makeup free from bateria; but make sure the top is closed tightly! I didn't do that and had a mess. The price is great too at $24.

I was looking for a liquid foundation to use during the winter when my normally combo to oily skin is on the dry side. I have discoloration and scars so I prefer buildable medium to heavy coverage. The problem with this foundation is poor color match for my very yellow Asian skintone, roughly NC25-30. Finish is flawless and its just tacky enough without getting slick or shiny that I can add a yellow powder corrector for setting and get a natural finish without looking powdery which is a problem with most oil-free foundations. During the warmer months, I know I will go back to mineral powder foundation because this will get oily. The price of $24 is a good mid-range that doesn't break the bank.

Absolute BEST foundation I've ever tried hands down. But before I talk about the pros, i will discuss cons. This foundation is no exception to the matte=oily scenario. After like two hours the shine is really apparent (although it does apply totally matte). But although my whole face gets shiny, with this foundation even when my skin is oily, the foundation doesnt slide around. So definatly bring powder with you because after 5 hours you will definatly look like a disgusting greaseball. Now for the Pros.
I do makeup a lot on people, and sometimes before they come over I practice the look on me first. And more times than others I'm really pressed for time and am LITERALLY glopping the foundation on my face... i dont know how but even when im slapping it on with my fingers not even properly blending, it looks flawless. You will seriously look like a porcelian doll. I also have really bad acne and went out yesterday and i was really late and my skin was really dry and red and inflamed because i took my cakey powder off from the morning and after i slapped this on my redness was gone, my blemishes were barely noticeable, and my skin looked super smooth. My friends even asked me what foundation I used xD Anyway i would definatly try this foundation, especially if you have dry skin!

This is hands down the best foundation I have ever used. I got it on sale and grabbed it on a whim. Thank god I did! I will definitely buy it again and I don't think I have ever felt that way about a foundation. I have tried everything from powder to mousse to liquid and this is the BEST.

This foundation is great. Glides on when first applying, is not drying. Looks flawless, comes in a variety of shades. Is lasts throughout the day. I do not have to reapply. I love it. Its full coverage i only have to apply once, do not have to go for round two. I do tend to have blemishes and reddness and covers perfectly!

i used bare minerals for years but found that the makeup would fade pretty quickly throughout the day. i have combination skin/redness. my mother suggested studio gear's studio matte foundation after being able to cover up a scar on her face. i have been using this product for about 2 years now and have just now realized that it is not my face wash causing my breakouts (not being able to get all the dirt/makeup off at the end of the day) but it is in fact this studio gear foundation. i have little towns of pimples all over my face, especially around my chin, lips, and nose. my skin is the most oily it has ever been in my whole life. before using this makeup i was lucky if i would get a pimple every 6 months. i do not recommend this product to anyone who has combination skin or is used to using powders as i believe it will change your face completely.

if a foundation turns on you... it is because it'z oxidzing but it's also because you need a different color... alll foundations oxidize.. my 65 dollar armani made me look like snooki... which is not a good thing because it was a LIGHT shade.. its best to try it and wear it for a while before you buy it.. I am a makeup artist at a stor elike ulta... and it's true that some makeup artist (no matter where you go chane; counter or cvs) aren't as good as others... it's not just an ulta thing it's a universal makeup counter thing... just don;t be afraid to say " who has to most knowledge and if she or he is not here can you tell me when to come back? believe me some of the not so experienced makeup artists will be grateful for your honesty.

I bought this foundation back in December 2010 and have half a bottle left. Not a good sign since I hate using it as it oxidizes bad after two-three hours turns orange on my tan skin. Hard to find a color match. If you look past looking like a oompa lompa it is a great foundation.
Pros;
Great price $23.
Doesn't emphasize dry patches.
Blends amazing.
Great for taking pictures.
Not heavy feeling.
Looks natural.
Medium to full coverage
Cons;
Oxidizes after two hours.
Feels sticky after applying.
Hard to control pump.
Drys darker
if not careful can look cakey
Final thought; if it didn't oxidize and went on darker this would be an amazing foundation. Wont buy again.

Okay so for the longest while I was on the hunt for super light, fair makeup for me. All the makeup I tried was too dark or oxidized. At first I went to Ulta and tried this in Bisque. I liked it, it was very fair, and promised me "matte" - which is the makeup I go for. I didn't wash my face or put on primer and was surprised at how nicely this went on, I mean wow. The coverage and pigmentation was awesome. It blended easily with my fingers over dry skin where it shouldn't have (usually my skin is combo). But afterward, it oxidized and completely turned a LOT darker, and the "matte" affect was no longer matte, which was sad because the coverage and pigmentation was amazing. I looked slick and sad. And the weirdest thing, I have very fair pink undertones and my skin looked blue and grayish. I don't know why. Won't be buying again for my skin type, but excellent for dry skin!!
Pro's: the bottle looks nice, great coverage, blends easily, the color selection works well for fair skin. Great for people with cooler toned, dry-drier skin.
Con's: no pump just messy pouring applicator, oxidizes, is not "matte" whatsoever and actually gets oilier, added a strange gray/blue-ish tone to my skin

i have used several high end foundations over the years and this is one of the best products i have used without thehigh price tag($23) color is great(drys one shade darker)-stays on-matte but not cakey-makes my pores vanish.A little goes a long way and its has very good ingredients is you are breakout prone or sensitive.I would use a setting powder if you are oily-some people think matte means oil controling-wrong,its just the finish. oh by the way its sold at Ulta beauty stores.

I'm honestly not too sure about this product. While it does provide great coverage, I think the color range is not too good. I'm an NC30-35 for reference and I still haven't found my perfect shade... I've used three different colors already and I need to go back to Ulta to try another one now. After application, the color goes a bit darker after a couple minutes. The finish is definitely not matte so I always have to use a powder afterwards. Other than the color problem, I think this foundation is very affordable ($23) with amazing coverage and easy application. I have very sensitive and acne-prone skin and the foundation hasn't broken me out so far.

I absolutely love the new matte foundation! The coverage is much better than the flawless formula.
The durability is amazing even without primer. It goes hours without rubbing off and its STAYS matte! Thank god cause i get so oily.
The only real down fall is that it feels a little tacky but it definitely gets better with a powder on top.
FULL flawless coverage.
Most of the colors are more yellow undertone so if youre at all mosstly pink undertone it can be a little difficult to find a match so get a pro to help you with a color.
Other than that, its a keeper for me!

I'm making the jump from drugstore foundations to foundations bought from specialty shops. I think this is a good transitional foundation between professional/quality foundations and everyday consumer foundations. It provides medium coverage and you can build it up to full coverage. It is a little irratating dealing with the Ulta "makeup artists" because some are really good at matching colors and others are not and can't apply it properly. For example, I recieved a full makeover with the wrong color foundation and another day I spoke with someone else and she nailed the color just by looking at me and doing the jawline test.
The foundation goes on very smooth and is really easy to build up in the areas that you need. Using a powder over the matte foundation sets the foundation to last all day. I work 12 hour shifts and the makeup does better than any other drugstore foundation I've ever used. I am starting to get the smile lines ( ) and sometimes the makeup gathers in the creases but a quick wipe with the finger smoothes it right out. Also, like any professional makeup artist would emphasive, skin care is absolutely essential!! So I've started to use the regenerist line for extra moisture. I know all of this may seem more expensive but it's more expensive generally because it's made with higher quality which will allow you to use less and and make it last longer. The savings do add up in the long run.

LOVE THIS FOUNDATION!!!
1) I FINALLY FOUND A PERFECT COLOR MATCH (RAW SUGAR) FOR MY FALL/WINTER SKIN TONE....(I'M NATIVE AMERICAN/AFRICAN-AMERICAN AND VERY DIFFICULT TO COLOR MATCH...EVEN PRESCRIPTIVES COULD NOT GET IT RIGHT!)
2)GREAT COVERAGE
3)GREAT PACKAGING
4)DOES NOT BREAK ME OUT (I HAVE SENSITIVE, ACNE PRONE SKIN)
I WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS....TRY IT ON FIRST AND THEN GO BACK TO PURCHASE IF YOU ARE SATISFIED AFTER WEARING IT FOR SEVERAL HOURS DURING THE DAY.

All I can say is, GROSS. I got this stuff after trying it out on my hand. I was amazed when I spread it into my skin, compared to my other hand, my skin was so tight and smooth. Plus it says on the bottle that it's MATTE, which means it should be formulated for people who have excess sebum and look shiny at the end of the day. So then why when I get it home, put it on before school, and then come home at night, do I look like a darn slip n slide? It was so frustrating, yet another product that seems to do the complete opposite of what it claims to do. I returned it after one use!!!

I bought this foundation simply for one reason, it doesn't have silicones in it. Good luck finding a good foundation (liquid) these days that doesn't! I'm still bitter over the fact that 6-7 years ago almost nothing was chock full of silicones and now EVERYTHING is. My skin reacts horribly to them, no matter how well I scrub my face at night after wearing them, I still get the worst clogged pores ever. And doing the mineral foundation thing.. gets old as well... I haven't found one yet with a formula that doesn't look dry and fake or just ends up disappearing on my skin.
Thus I bought this at Ulta after browsing and checking ingredient lists. I wasn't looking for anything mattifying, but the other foundations from this line had 'cones. I paid around $25 for this.
Overall, I'm pretty happy. The color match was decent and not hard to pick out, the formula feels a wee bit sticky going on but then sets up... it blends really easily. Not super high coverage by any means... it evens skin tone, tones down any redness. It looks pretty nice. I've quit setting with powder because powder always makes me look dry... I use those blotting sheets instead.
Matte is kinda laughable with this foundation. The finish doesn't look or stay matte. I still get oily. And if you get too oily with this foundation it will oxidize... so blot often. However I'm willing to deal with it and use my blotting papers if it means I get to use a liquid foundation w/o cones again.

I didn't like the overall performance of this mattifiying foundation. But, this does have some pros to it.
PROS: 1. Stays matte for 8 hours MAX if you sit in an office w/ the A/C on all day. I had problems with this not staying matte when I went outside for a long period of time or on humid days.2. I love the bottle design with a great working pump and no mess application process. 3. This gives a flawless look for the first few hours. 4. Buildable coverage from medium to full. 5. Very liquidy and blends nicely. 6. Good color choices. 7. Price is affordable @ $23.00
CONS: 1. Doesn't perform well on summer humid days. 2. Oxidizes big time. I bought "Natural" which is a slightly cool light/medium that turned about 2 shades darker and orange within 2 hours of wear. 3. After a few hours of wearing this, I noticed my skin looking tired and old - that flawless look you get at initial application fades once the oxidization kicks in. 4. Once the mattifying properites wears off, I looked in my rear view mirror and can actually count all my pores on my nose and cheeks (gross). 5. Broke out with this big time and clogged up my pores. 6. If you enjoy this foundation, it is very difficult to find (only Ulta sells it).

Looks great the first hour or so, then becomes a terrible oily mess. I think the kaolin clay made my skin overreact and kick out the oil. You know, that horrible shiny nose look? Yeah, that was my whole face. Ick.

I've finally found the perfect foundation! I have dry skin with an oily T zone and this doesn't cake up on the dry areas and after a day of sweating outside I still had a soft glow as opposed to a full oil slick on my forehead. I use the color cream and it's great because I can mix my moisturizer with the foundation and I get a nice sheer, even coverage all over my face. Or, for an evening look, I can just layer it on my face to gently cover (again, without caking!!) my over abundance of freckles.
I was formerly using L'oreal Color Match foundation, and at $9 it's decent, but if you even barely touch your face it comes right off, plus after a few hours it gets really greasy. I'm willing to pay more for a foundation that does everything I need it to.
