This is the first time I am really disappointed in a Mally Beauty product. I am actually returning it. The thing was that this was marketed to be the dummy's solution to Smokey Eyes..which goes to say that I am a dummy when it comes to smokey eyes, but, hey it's supposed to be easy with this kit (that's what she says in her demos and tv appearances and her website). I pride myself in being able to follow instructions to the letter. I did it for this particular kit but I still looked like a raccoon :( I think that there's too much pigment but its just too powdery, that when you try to blend it doesn't go on a gradient but one big round mess of colors. I even used the particular brushes she recommended but still looked like two holes in a bedsheet. I just sent it back.

Eyeliner- nice and creamy but does crease Best if you set it with the darkest color.
Eyeshadow base- not bad and feels silky on your lids and makes the eyesahadow stick.
Eyeshadows- Nice colors. Simple and will always grab these colors. My favorite is the deepest plum shade! It is very finely milled so must use an eyeshadow base.

VERY PRETTY! Great for brown eyes=D
I am absolutely amazed by these shadows! They are high-quality and the palette case is sooo cute too. These bring my eyes out and I find these better than a lot of the overly hyped mac shadows out there too...(yep, I said it). Every single shadow is just perfect and so finely milled. The price isn't at all high considering the quality of all four shadows AND super cute and pretty packaging. I need to buy more Mally palettes!

I love this kit!!! What everyone says is true. The colors are wonderful. I am 47, blue eyes, medium skin tone. These palettes rate very high in my book. They blend extremely well. They are easy easy easy to apply, and make my eyes pop. One of the BEST things is the HUGE mirror in these compacts. I love that! Mally for sure knows what she is doing. I am planning on getting ALL of her other palettes.

I was hesitant about spending so much on an eyeshadow kit, but I am so glad that I did! The Plum Chelsea set is fabulous for green eyes. Every time I wear it, I get so many compliments on how my eyes pop. What I also really like about the kit is that you can use the darkest color just as liner during the day for a milder look, or you can use it as the lid shade at night (with the black liner) for a more dramatic look.
I've had my kit for almost a year now, and even though I use it a few times a week, I still have a lot of shadow left in each pan and the quality has really held up. I have three Smokey Eye kits now, but this one is my favorite! It's honestly my HG eyeshadow!

I love this kit. I love love love it. When in use with her eye brushes... it's a cinch to apply. I have used many different shadows... NARS, Chanel, Lorac, Stila, etc and have always hated how it made my eyes look. I am asian with dark hair and medium tan skin. I looked like a racoon! NOT with Mally... the colors BLEND. I mean truly blend and look gorgeous. I highly recommend this shadow set!!!

Thanks to all the great reviews, I bought this palette from Amazon.com ($40).and it was nicer than I expected. First of all, the brushed metal packaging is adorable. The palette includes a primer, which really did hold the e/s color not as good as my Urban Decay Primer Potion, but ok in a pinch (it can work as an undereye concealer). The shimmery champagne is a perfect neutral all-over color. The medium lilac shade has a grey tint to it, so when I put it on, it doesn't look overly purple. Lastly, the highly pigmented dark purple shade is what gives you the smokey look. A light hand and good blending and there you have it! To top it off, the eyeliner pencil that it comes with lasts surprisingly long (only smudged a little after all day wear) when used with the primer. All in all, I'm very impressed and I'm going to order the browns now too!
***update: I change my mind about the eyeliner; it does end up smudging and is not as long-lasting as my MAC technakhol. Now up for swap it goes!

I love the colors. They always look more dramatic in the case, but they go on very nicely. I work nights, so I take a lot of naps during the day, and when I get up my eyes still look great.

i must be crazy after reading all these smashing reviews, but in my opinion this palette couldn't be more 'meh'. it's total drugstore makeup w/a $40 pricetag slapped onto it (and QVC has the NERVE to say it's a $72 RETAIL VALUE!). out of the 3 shadows the only one i like is the darkest one, the other 2 are such bad quality and barely show up (and i'm VERY pale and don't have oily skin so it's not that they're dissapearing). the eyeliner is TOTAL garbage, it does go on smoothly but it stays on the waterline for maybe 3 minutes and on your regular lid for oh, i'd give it 1 hour. one errant touch to your lid and the liner transfers right off and is left on your finger. and that's on my dry skin. i also remember not really liking the e/s base. this bad review is ludicrous for me because i am all over any purple e/s!!! i was so excited to receive this palette and have maybe played with it once- that is a bad, bad sign. more power to all the girls who love this but it's just not for me, although after reading these reviews i'm going to give it another shot :D *EDIT* ok i gave it another shot, and i'm raising my rating up to 3 lippies. it is nice, the 3 shadows do work together well, i just think it could be better. and the eyeliner is still garbage!

I get a very dramatic smokey look with this plum palette. Very flattering, but easy to overdo, so I have to make myself go light. I'm happy with this colorway (the brownstone not so much). This makeup has a very fine texture. The kit will probably last for 10 years, which I also appreciate. The metal case and little pouch are sturdy and cute. Altogether a quality product.
In case you aren't aware, Amazon.com carries all the City Chick palettes except for the newest one, Tribeca Taupe (as well as several other Mally items). I like this because Amazon offers free shipping on (in-stock) orders over $25, a good savings over QVC.

This is one of several colors available in the Mally line on QVC. I love this product and own other color kits, Central Park, Nolita Navy. These are fabulously rich colors with just the right amount of glimmer. The colors always look more muted on your eyes, so dont be intimidated by them in the kit. Highly blendable and the staying power is unbeatable. At the end of a seven hour day, I never have to touch up my eyes. Thess kits will last you a lifetime because you only need to use the smallest amount , since they are so richly pigmented. Comes with an eye shadow base, which I DONT use, because it has too much yellow in it for my skin tone. I like using a whiter eye base to bring out the colors.

I think this is a really beautiful smokey eye set with the perfect muted purples for most eyes. The shadows go on surprisingly well and I also really liked the creamy primer which worked well for my non-oily lids - particularly in terms of the way the shadows swiped on over it nicely. It's pretty much a fool-proof method for smokey eyes as others have said and even though I like doing my smokey eye a bit differently than her instructions, the colors worked just perfectly. I have green eyes and this set just made them pop. My only complaint is the stupid compact is very hard to open in my opinion. I have her concealer set as well and I can't open that easily either so I don't think it's just a factory flaw. i really have to dig my nail in the little crevice to pry it apart which sucks, but I'll live :)

I was a bit hesitant to buy this because I use Trish McEvoy exclusively for my eyes. I was flipping through the channels and saw this advertised on QVC. The color looked pretty impressive. On a whim, I ordered the Plum Chelsea. I am not disappointed at all. The colors transfer beautifully, they actually go on easily and remain on all day (as opposed to Stila shadows). I really like the liner color - it's very flattering. I find the creamy base to be a bonus - I stopped using anything else because I like the texture and the way it evens out the color of my eyelids. I'm now considering Mally's blush set. I would absolutely buy this again.

I've read great reviews on this palette, but it looked so "purpley" in the picture, that I was nervous about it! I hoped that it would look less so in person...but it didn't. Still had hope though, because I'd read reviews that said it didn't look so "purple" on...and they were right! I've only tried it on once, but the color looked much softer on the eyes than it does in the case. I have brown eyes, and the color was very pretty against them. I still need to practice with her kits, but I give it two thumbs up! If you're on the fence about it, I think it's worth the gamble, because IMO it definitely goes on much softer than it looks--especially if you use a light hand.

I love this product! It is expensive at $35.92 introductory price at QVC and eventually it will be $39.00. Unfortunately, I am not the only one who likes this as people hang on to it when they get it and it is, therefore, not usually available on ebay. However, it is definitely worth the price as you get a lid primer, three COORDINATING eye shadows, and an eye liner pencil for that price. The packaging is classic Mally pink and includes a mirror in the case for application. I am a big eye liner fan as I am lucky enough to have long dark lashes so I love the idea of smudging the darkest shadow over my liner. Once applied, my eyes look fabulous and even if you have a heavy hand, it does not look overdone. I have very oily eye lids and it still lasts all day. Mally makes this in multiple colors and they are all good. I never thought that I could do the smokey eye look, but this kit gives you all the tools and instructions to look just like the stars and models we admire. I will definitely repurchase.

I hate to be the odd man out but even though I used the included primer this shadow was gone in 4 hours. UrbanDecay primer puts this one to shame but it is only one part of the kit. Great idea. I think I can pull this off with any brand now that I understand how to.

I have always wanted to be able to do a smokey eye. Now I can, this kit makes it so easy. It's fool proof. I love the color too, plummy/purple. Lots of pigment to the shadows & the eye base goes one really nice too. I have brown eyes so I get bored with neutrals & wanted something with color, without looking weird. Highly recommend. Just beautiful! continued >>

I really, REALLY like this kit. I have always admired the girls that can do and wear the "smokey" eye look. I think that the look is really beautiful and it makes your eyes just "pop". But alas, I am kind of all thumbs when it comes to applying eye makeup. I can manage one shadow application, but 3? No way.
So when I saw the infomercial on QVC, I had to try this.
The eyeshadow colors are very pretty, the concealer/base is great too and it had my eye makeup lasting all day and night, until I took it off. And the plum colors made my olive green eyes "pop" and stand out. So pretty! And the best of all, I could do a smokey eye too.
The price is kind of spendy, but I see this lasting a long time. Now I want to get the Browstone kit too. *sigh*. I would definitely repurchase this.
