I'm on the fence with Pink Nouveau. Sometimes, I really REALLY love. Other times, I want to swap it. I think it just depends on how much I apply. A thick application is entirely too bold, while a think application looks sweet and sophisticated. For reference, I'm a MAC NC20. I think it's too frosty maybe for my skintone, but it's definitely fun for a night out with the girls.

So I only own three MAC lipsticks and the first two were so-so which made me think that these lipsticks were overrated. Afterall, there's a million dupe lists online where you can find department store lipstick shades at a drugstore price. Then I discovered a Bangaldeshi makeup guru on YouTube and she seemed to wear this exact lipstick shade in a lot of tutorials so I decided to splurge and get it. It looked downright scary when I swatched it on the back of my hand to be honest, it was SO bright and cool toned. To be honest, I am the kind of person who sticks to natural, warm shades or something neutral and understated especially when it comes to my lips and blush. However, when I put it directly on my lips I looked so HOT! In a Barbie kind of way to be honest. I think it works great for tan or olive complected ladies.
I try not to wear it everyday since I have so many other lipsticks begging to be used in my makeup stash but I can't help it, I tend to reach for it as often as possible. In fact, I usually regret it when I don't end up wearing it on certain days because I think it always completes my look and brightens my face. I have never been so obsessed with a certain lipstick shade before. I read somewhere that it was Nicki Minaj's favorite lipstick shade before she came out with Pink Friday and Viva Glam but my makeup style is NOTHING like hers. To offset the drama that this lipstick brings, I tend to tone it down with a warmer, peachier lipliner and a golden toned pinky lip gloss. It looks great by itself though, even at night time. I definitely think this is HG status for me! :) <3 <3 <3
I am South Asian (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi) for reference with a NC37-40 skin tone (#123 in MUFE HD), dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. continued >>

This is a great barbie doll pink. I used to wear it all the time when I had bleach blonde hair, but since I have let my natural dirty blonde hair grow out I feel slightly bizarre with this makeup and prefer more natural lipstick colors.
Nonetheless I love this color. It is such a fun, loud pink. It is definitely a statement and I encourage anyone brave enough to wear it. I think when my hair lightens in the summer I will bust this out again.
Just a warning that if you have dry lips this will accentuate it in a BAD way! Smooth, moisturized lips are gonna be this lipsticks best friend, especially if you've had the lipstick for a long while and its dried out a little.....like mine. Other than that I would recommend this lipstick and plan on buying it again! :)

I'm not as in love with this lipstick as I thought I would be, my collection mostly consists of pink lipsticks and this one is pretty average. It is a blue based barbie pink lipstick that looks quite flattering on my NW15 skin but I seriously doubt it looks good on everyone because it is very very cool toned. The texture is a little drier than I expected it to be but it doesn't really accentuate dry chapped lips either. It is very pigmented and opaque in just one swipe. I just expected it to be a little creamier or glossier. For some reason I though NYX's Narcissus was a dupe for this but that one is a much much lighter pink with shine and a more satin finish.

I rarely wear color on my lips ever! If I feel in the mood for a dramatic color...I reach for this pink lippy. Especially for a night on the town with the dolls.

My love affair with pink lipstick started with this. It looks like cotton candy on my lips. The color will stand out day or night. It makes my skin a bit tanner than usual and I love it.

I am a NW55 gal and this works for me. It is all the the application of the product. I wear this lippie a lot and I always get compliments. I usually wear a neutral eye look with this color.

I usually avoid darker pink lipsticks as they usually turn mauve or lilac on me when I got this prior to trying it on I was like hmmm yet another boring dark pink lipstick but when I put it on I was quite amazed at how much this suited me I would describe this is as a fushica kinda pink and definitely not like its other competitors saint germain(my fav) and lady gaga which are a lot lighter but this is a pretty color that I nearly took back after being put it off for appearing to dark just goes to show you don't judge a book buy its a cover overall I give this lipstick a 4.3 and yes I will buy again.

Ewwwww....not cute on me at all. Can't believe I let my friends convince me to get this...Completely wrong undertones...maybe it's the blue base which is not cool for my warm skin....ewwww.

I really like this lipcolor. Pink Noveau is a blue based Barbie pink satin / cream lipstick. A lot of ppl are afraid of this shade, but fear is really unnecessary.... you have to know how to wear it :
For a tone- I apply the LS then use a brown lip liner (any brand will do) and rub my lips together.
To sheer the color - top your lips w/ some lipglass
For the Nicki Minaj lip - apply lipstick, dark brown liner, blend, then either apply a small amount of white lip mix, or LIGHTLY dab a small amount of Naked pigment by MAC in the center and blend.
Of course the Hot pink lip liner and the Red lip liner look great too.
Have some confidence...try it! Anyone can wear this color.

The only problem with this lipstick is that it can accentuate dry patches, exfoliate and moisturize your lips and you will be fine.

Okay so I am on a mission to help people learn about the products I love myself!
There are so many reviews on here that are just total BS to be totally frank.
Pink Nouveau is a very popular lippy!
Celebrities such as Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce and Katy Perry love this lipstick and wear it on many an occasion.
The Satin finish is a very smooth and creamy texture and this one is especially lovely!
The pigmentation is amazing and I would say this lipsticks lasting time is anything from 3-5 hours depending on what you eat or drink etc...
I imagine wearing a gloss could make the lasting time longer also!
Of course as with all lipsticks, it's better to moisturize and exfoliate your lips before wearing it (simply a good lip balm and brushing your damp lips gently with a toothbrush does the trick!)
Pink Nouveau is a medium blue toned pink which is super flattering for any skin colour, warm or cool toned and I would even say any hair colour! =)
Mac prices aren't as bad as people make out and they actually are cheaper than any other high end make up line and they are definitely worth the money!
The packaging is classic and I feel as though they might have improved it over the past couple years (none of my logo's seem to scrape off anymore! =D)
Gives a gorgeous
Really love this lippy so I do hope people give it the love it deserves!
I would for sure repurchase!

I'm in love with this lipstick!Another great pink lipstick that is intense but not overly bright. I like wearing this with a smudged black eyeliner and thick lashes for that bombshell type look! Its a bright pink color and has got a satin finish. Looks best on, fair medium or dark!

All but one of MAC lipsticks I bought I give away, because I just can't stand and find myself to love their lipsticks.
And I hate this color, it just looks horrid on me. I have NC 30 shade and I though some women of my shade can pull off this color. But not me. It's pink, but an awful pink. Just doesn't do for me.
I could have mixed this w/ other shades to at least alter the color somewhat but the formula is too drying. It made my lips chap and flake and after two tried I gave this away to my cousin.
Will never buy again. Such a disappointment.

I am in love this lipstick!!!! It gives such a rich color and is very high pigmented. It has be used correctly. I usually put on a little bit of lip balm before using this lipstick because if used alone it does feel very dry. Overall I think it is a beautiful color and a great item to have in your collection. I am a NW45(maybe a shade or two lighter now with the colder weather) and I think it looks beautiful with my skin tone. It's all about having the confidence and knowing how to wear such colors : ) I definitely recommend this product to any shade!

I don't agree with some people that said this is a barbie pink color, it's more a light purple for me, not pink.
Anyways I don't like this lipstick, it's too drying.
It ended up flaking on my lips the first time I wear it and I don't really know if all matte lipstick are this drying. It made me feel very uncomfortable.
I even tried to apply lip balm before but didn't work either.

I can't believe I used to almost 'slate' this lippy!!! :( I feel so awful now as I absolutely ADORE this lipstick!!!! Oh my god. Every time I went to a MAC counter I'd try Pink Nouveau on, hoping I'd love it and decide to buy it. However every single time I'd somehow walk out the shop with Chatterbox or Girl About Town or Impassioned or Morange.... Yeah the list does go on! For some reason I never had the guts to buy it and when I tried it on at a MAC counter it always felt dry on my lips. HOWEVER, I decided to order a whole lot of MAC online (like to thank my Dad here for the money for my good AS level results lol yay!!!) and added Pink Nouveau to the basket. FINALLY IT WAS ON MY WAY. When it got delivered I felt SO excited to try it. The lighting in Fenwicks (where I buy my MAC) is the most unflattering I have ever came across and I always go out feeling so depressed about my appearance haha, but thankfully, I put this on in my bathroom mirror with natural lighting etc and, no exaggeration here, it is BEAUTIFUL. Amazing pigmentation and not drying at all!!! Which I didn't understand one bit as when I tried it at a MAC counter it felt like I was scratching my lips off lol. Blue based pink, very Barbie! I am so, so, so pleased I bought this. I am an NC20 and I feel it really suits my skin tone, though I'm sure it will suit a wide range. Grrrrr the stupid artificial hideous lighting preventing me from buying it all this time! FINALLY I have been united with this beauty!! :P In love!
