Horrible.....This only made my skin worse. The scent is to strong, the cream feels oily in a way but very thin, and it kind of stung. This cream made my face turn into a oil slick and created pimples. The price is so not worth it since the product is no good. Don't give into this piece of junk!!

Horribly scented, it's not that it smells that bad but it just hits you in the face, very floraly and perfume like. This contains feverfew which could potentialyl actually irritate skin further, and not to mention the jar packaging won't keep the ingredient stable. As far as moisturizng goes, I feel like this coats the skin, but doesn't truly moisturize or benefit the skin in any way. Skip this, it will not reduce redness, and has no benefical ingredients, or stand out moisturizing properties.

Ok, I get the bad reviews on this product, but I also really love it! When I first started using this moisturizer, I also started using the Ultra Calming face wash as well. My skin had a transitional period that was awful. My face would burn and I started getting dry patches on my dry skin that I've been battling and won, well until I started using this stuff. I did notice the redness in my face become less and less, well, red, so I kept on using it, hoping that it was just a transition and it would go away. It did. The burning and irritation stopped after about a week and now my face is sooo soft, the redness hasn't completely went away, but it is completely and totally less prominent than before. I suggest trying to work through the first week or so of using this product.

I'm really surprised by the low rating of this product, and I hope it doesn't discourage people to buy this product. I think it's great, and it really does help with redness over time. People who complain about the scent are over exaggerating, it's not strongly scented, it's a light, sweet, herbal scent - if you don't like that sort of thing it's not a reason to give this product a low rating. It's not the most moisturizing, but it does reduce redness, just use it with a hydrating serum if you have extremely dry skin. Also, this product has never made my face sting.
edit:
I think if you apply too much of this product, it stings. Also, doesn't seem to be working very well anymore, I can understand why others don't like it, even though I do find it moisturizing enough.

Despite all the bad reviews, I actually really like this moisturizer. It makes my skin really soft and doesn't irritate it even a little bit and I have extremely sensitive skin. I think it smells good and the scent isn't too strong for me at all. I like it. My only problem is I wish it had a bit more moisturizing power because I have really dry skin sometimes. I still love it though and I would buy it again

This product made my skin burn so badly I was almost in tears. This is a horrible product. Do not buy this if you have sensitive skin. I can't believe magazines I read recommend this for people with sensitive skin. Ultra calming is exactly the opposite of what this product will do for your skin.

Two thumbs way, way down.

I can't even speak for the moisturizing qualities of this product, because I'm too distracted by the heavy fake floral fragrance. When I open the jar, it really feels like someone is holding a Glade Plug-in directly under my nose. And I'm not an ultra-sensitive scent person either! Save your money; this is a terrible night cream, even for the most zealous of Aveeno enthusiasts. continued >>

I like this product, but I wish it was thicker and more moisturizing. It makes my skin feel really soft, but my skin gets dry really quickly so I have to put a thicker cream on top. I have eczema and those spots still get really dry. Overall, it's an okay product but probably won't repurcahse.

This put a lot of moisture into my skin. It felt like my skin was drinking up all it could. Though I find it does make me look greasy, but I don't mind. Its a night cream anyway so its not like I'm walking around places looking greasy. It doesn't feel greasy and works well for my skin. I would get it again even with its price tag.

I'm not sure why they put such a strong fragrance in a product that is supposed to be for very sensitive skin. I tried using this when my skin was in a sensitive phase. I gave it a few chances, but every time it burned so bad that I could not sleep. NOT for you if you are sensitive to fragrance. I'll be sticking to other brands. Olay, Neutrogena, and Eucerin all make gentler, fragrance-free night creams that would be more suitable for sensitive skin.

I regret that I have to through this jar of cream away. Like many reviews say, it does nothing had has a strong france smell. I have breakouts so I have red scars left on the face. This thing doesn't reduce the redness, nor did it moisturize. But it made me break out more.

I have very sensitive/acne prone skin - I'm a rare person allergic to Cetaphyl. This cream is great for me. I have very dry patches from use of Tazorac cream. My skin drinks this cream and I don't break out. I don't think the smell is bad at all. I'm excited to have found a cream that moisturizes this much and doesn't break me out.

This cream does a wonderful job of calming the redness on my face. The smell doesn't bother me at all. I took a lippie off for a couple of reasons... 1.It's a little thick so it doesn't spread nicely and 2. It makes my T-zone a little oilly. I have however been looking for a product that takes care of the red and this is one has worked the best so far so I will keep on using it until I find something that doesn't make me oily.

I don't have sensitive skin but at times I can get dry patches. I use the night cream and for my oily-combo skin it moistures my skin great for night time. I wake up with soft supple skin and it did not break me out. The smell doesn't bother me at all so for me this cream works great for simply moisturizing.

I have the nighttime version of this cream, which I bought after discovering (and loving!) the foaming facial cleanser from this range. As others have noted, it is very heavily fragranced (an odd decision considering that this product was designed for sensitive skin). It felt very plasticky on my skin and felt like it simply sat on top without sinking in much. In between uses it left my skin drier than it had been before I ever started using this cream. Not impressed and would not repurchase.

The product is kind of expensive for the amount you get, and for being a drugstore brand. However, the moisturizing properties are lovely! It's the only cream I can use while I use Tazorac, I DON'T peel anymore, and that was the only issue i had w/ taz (enough of one to stop using)
As far as 'calming' i'm not sure, my skin can still be a little ruddy depending on it's sensitivity day to day.
but love!
will try and get it when it's on sale.

The texture is nice and creamy, and it does feel cool and calming when you're smoothing it on your face. Beyond those, I see no redeeming value. It smells terrible. Horrible, even. Thankfully the smell dissipates rapidly and doesn't linger. If you have sensitive eyes like I do, keep this stuff far, far away from your eyes, because it burns. After it sinks into your skin, *poof* it's gone as if you didn't put on any moisturizer at all. I used it for about a month, and then gave up on it and tossed it in the trash.

Well, I guess I'm kinda on the fence about this one. It's ok. Not great, not horrible, but ok. First off, I don't understand why it is fragranced. A calming cream should be fragrance free, IMO. Or at least low fragrance. But this one is pretty heavily fragranced. But what's the point of heavily fragrancing something if you're not going to make it smell pleasant? It's not horribly offputting and I could tolerate it but I don't understand why.
Anyway, the formula is ok. The finish is nice. Moisture is medium. I don't feel there is much of a calming effect but I didn't find it irritating.
Like I said, it's not bad, per se. Just overpriced for its mediocrity.
I returned it because I felt that even though I got it on discount, I could spend that money better on something else.
In a pinch, I would be ok using it. I just wasn't impressed enough to keep it around. I was expecting more. Either a truly calming moisturizer, or at least a nice moisturizing night cream. This is really neither of those things.
