I went to CVS originally to pick up the crease brush set, but this was sitting next to it, and the shape reminded me of my MAC 217SE, just wider and more dense. Keep in mind that my 217SE is more splayed out than my standard 217, and the EoB brush closely resembles that of my MAC SE brush.
I came home to try it out, and it is great at packing on color... not so much at blending. It does the trick, but like I said in my crease brush review, you have to work with it just a little more longer to get your desired effect. I like that it has black bristles that do not stain, and the short handle. It fits in my MAC SE brush set case so I can travel with it easily.
If you factor in price, construction and accessibility [sold at all CVS stores] - I can easily overlook the fact that you have to work a little longer to get your desired effect. This is a good starter brush - but I use it to pack on dark e/s colors. I leave the blending to my big-girl-brushes - my MAC 217 and 224.

This is a great all-over eyeshadow brush. I own two of these. I can't use this on my lids because it is too big, but I have other brushes for that reason. I use this to apply neutral color all over, or if I have to tone down things with highlight, or blend larger areas. One of my most-used brushes; it is soft bristles but firm control, only shed one or two bristles when I first started using them (which is supposed to happen with animal fiber brushes, I think), and get softer and more comfortable with each washing (I wash used brushes at the end of the day, everyday). I also like that the handles are short, making it easier for me to use, and are a very pretty varnished wood.
Edit: I found another great use for this brush...I apply cheek highlight with this because of the small size and ease of control.

I got this brush along with the crease brush, so it's really a steal! I used to use this brush as an all over lid color, but I stopped and use it for highlighting underneath my brown bone. It does a wonderful job at that, it has only shedded like once. The downside, it might be just only be me, there is product build up in the brush. From the shadows, I run my finger through it and shadow will come out, I guess its easier to see considering they're a light color?? Other than that there's nothing wrong with it.

Love this brush, have been using it to apply base e/s color for about 2 years. It's never shed on me that I can remember and holds it's shape well after washing. Applies beautiful washes of color too.

This immediately became my favorite e/s brush! The bristles are soo soft and I love the size/shape/density of the head. It's great for blending and anything else.

I love this brush! Got it for 50% off during the CVS sale. Works better then my Bobbie Brown brush. Thanks makeup alley for letting me know about this!!

Easily one of my favorite everyday brushes! I have a Sephora Pro brush similar to this one but it's a little fluffier and harder to deposit darker colors with. The EoB brush fills that niche for me and it's a must have!

I've been searching forever for a good cheap (under $20) e/s brush to apply the base color. I purchased MAC's #242 brush as the Nordstrom saleslady said it was best for packing on base colors, but the brush was $23. I went to CVS and bought this brush. Not only is this one cheaper than the MAC one, but it packs on e/s better. One swipe applies enough pigment. I LOVE this brush- it does not shed at all and the hair are very soft!

Wonderful. This deposits the color exactly where you want it to go, and is also great for blending. The price can't be beat at less than $5.

I was so impressed with the EoB crease brushes, I picked this one up as well. It's very nice! It has a larger head than some of my other brushes, which makes it great for an all-over wash of shadow, but it's still a manageable size. It's soft and full, and I've noticed little shedding (a few hairs in the beginning, but I don't expect any brush to never shed). One thing I like about it, and the crease brushes, is the short handles--they fit better in a makeup bag, and don't hit the mirror when I use them--important if you're nearsighted like me. Great value for $4.99. I'm definitely going to be checking out more of this line!

I do agree with the other reviews in that this brush is very soft and on par with the general fantastic quality of Essence of Beauty brushes, but unfortunately it has a shedding problem.. for that I take off one lippie.

I am so impressed with the EoB line. I just bought the value pack and there were two eyeshadow brushes included. They are soft, dense, and pick up the perfect amount of pigment. There's no shedding either. Great price & terrific quality.

I absolutely adore this e/s brush! I got this for $4.99 @ CVS, which is very inexpensive compared to the prices of designer e/s brushes. It came in a resealable packet which I think is very useful, and I keep it in there. This brush is so soft and fluffy, and it picks up just the right amount of shadow in an average swipe--not too much, not too little. It blends e/s fairly decently, which is okay since it's a d/s brand brush. But even so, this is truly a great brush! I recommend this for all you gals out there who don't want to spend a lot of $$$ on m/u brushes and would rather spend that extra money on the makeup itself. ;D
