Color's great. Stays on in the winter. My sweaty oily lids can't keep this on in the summer. I don't mind the drying out because I think it helps me with precision. Love the color. I feel like the MAC fluidlines are harder to maneuver because they spread too easily (more like using liquid liner)--but those are my favorite for the summer.

I hear lots of good reviews about Bobbie Brown gel eyeliner for oily lids. I have oily, hooded lids and purchased this product with high hopes. The eyeliner doesn't stay put as everybody us raving. The color is graphite but turns out to be dark bluish when applied on my eyelids. It also transfers to my upper lids after a few hours. I'm sure it is because of the condition of lids but am not a big fan. Maybe the black caviar ink would look better.

I like the Granite color, softer than black. But the product dried out
very quickly despite sealing it snugly - all gel eyeliners have this problem.

This cost about $40++ where i'm at. And it's pretty pricey since there are many copies of gel eyeliners out there. Staying power is decent. Smudges on my oily lids after a couple hours.. say.. 3-4hrs? Nice colour though. Won't repuchase as i'll be looking out for an eyeliner that works better on my oily lids.

I already have Espresso so I knew I would like the formula. BB gel liners are HG for me as they go on easily with the ultra fine e/l brush and last all day and through workouts. I was debating between this and Caviar Ink because I wanted a deeper color for the winged cat eye/nude e/s look. While Graphite Shimmer is pretty and different because of the slight shimmer, it didn't give me the depth in color and oompf that I was looking for. It gives a soft smokey look that is pretty, but again, not the look I was going for.

This is a good product. The color is pretty and it has a good staying power. I took a lippie because the color is not as intense as I would like it to be. I wanted a dark color that wasn't black but that could show up nicely and enhance my eye color, but it looks a little "blah".
Anyway, maybe in someone with light colored eyes it could look better. My eyes are dark brown, almost black. Anyway, it's a good product and it doesn't dry as much as MAC Fluidline in my experience.

I LOVE Bobbi Brown gel liners however this one is way different for me, I'm not sure if I got a "bad" one or what but the color is beautiful, it looks just like a graphite pencil would look like, dark gray with shimmer. But this did two things my other two gel liners didn't do which is 1) it runs like crazy, my other two Bobbi Brown gel liners stay put, no running or smudging at all, this runs every single time I wear it 2) it dried out insanely fast. I would definitely not repurchase this again.

I tried this in the regular graphite a year ago & it was my first gel/creme eyeliners. I am Asian with hooded eyes & only use this to tight line. This is some good stuff. I think I like this color better, but there isn't a lot of shimmer in it, but gives more soft definition than the reg graphite.
It does not smudge, it can be a little drying when first getting it out of the container, the top layer is like sealed in? You have get that first layer off, but I like it that it is a little drier than other gel liners and it still applies smoothly & easily. Stays on all day and I apply this with either an angled eyeliner brush or a tiny (like 3mm wide) flat brush I got from CS when I want a thicker line.
I did try the Maybelline one when I ran out of this to try to save money & it is NOT worth it. It smudges to the bottom lash line, this does not & that one took a while to dry, this dries almost on contact. It isn't too expensive for how long it lasts. My first one I have to throw it out after I have it for 5 or 6 months because it was getting dry, but at $22 per jar & say 2 jars per year, I don't think that's too expensive especially since it works so well.
Highly recommended. continued >>

I use this gel liner almost everyday. I've had the same jar for about 2 years and am about to finish up my first jar, I have already purchased my backup. The consistency of the product is very similar to when I first opened and started using the product. I love the color it's a subtle dark, shimmery grey that makes my brown eyes pop. I highly recommend!!

I am going to try this one again, but may not need to as have had it ages and the pot has hardly gone down. Longevity of wear excellent and smudges out if you are fast once applied. Works well on upper and smudged on lower lash line. I like the convenience of a KHOL liner or liquid pen style which is probably why i doint used this all that much but the results of this are worth the effort and expense of buying the gel liner and fine liner brush. I am looking for a pewter grey / grey shot with shimmer eyeliner at the mo, so am going to re-discover this item and establish if it is up to task.

I'm so glad I bought this liner. I've wanted this for over a year and finally shelled out the money when BB.com had free shipping. It is what the package says it is, long wearing. I put this one at 6am and didn't take it off until 11pm. Of course it didn't look exactly like it did at 6am but out of a 10...it was a 9. I was very impressed. Also his color is a great sub for black liner!

Product - Graphite Shimmer Ink is a deep dark charcoal grey with very subtle shimmer for a subtle metallic finish. Not as stark as black, not too light or silvery-grey, and not too matte or flat either. As with BB's other gel eyeliners, it has excellent staying power on my oily lids.

Comparisons - Graphite Shimmer Ink is not as flat as BB Granite Ink. Swatched next to MAC Paint Pot in Blackground, Graphite at first goes on with a more pronounced metallic finish - but after I smudge each they both have an iridescent multicolor shimmer finish and are completely indistinguishable; Graphite has a slightly thicker texture. Probably don't need both this and BB Graphite Shimmer Ink; between the two I'd keep Blackground, since I like to do a smoky eye often and Paint Pots are generally a little easier to work with as a base.

Overall - Nice alternative to basic brown or basic black liner, without being flashy either. continued >>

I didn't care for the Graphite Shimmer Ink. It was pretty swatched (dark grey with shimmer) but when I put it on my eyes it really didn't do anything for me. I find I get much more of an impact with the Black Ink and also the Espresso. Both tend to me much more flattering on me. Since these dry up so fast I have to limit myself so the Graphite Shimmer is a pass for me.
However I will say on a blonde or someone who can't wear that stark black, this may be just the ticket!

Great eyeliner! lasts all day, doesn't irritate eyes, and is the most beautiful colour! This is my everyday eyeliner because black can look a little harsh sometimes but this colour enhances my eyes beautifully. HG eyeliner.

Beautiful shade, of course. BB really makes flattering colors. This pulls a slight blue against my skin and I like that. Dark shimmery granite with slight blue/green. great for tightlining. Not as deep and prominent as black but still defines. If you like her gels, you must have this one.
Edit: HG status now, replacing my HG of her espresso e/l. What I love is that this defines like a black but the shimmer gives it a slight slip such that head-on it's not "pow-black-eyeliner" just a hint of color. The subtlety of this color is what makes it such a winner.

I love this - and I'm someone who used to throw liquid eyeliners across the room with frustration! My hands just aren't very steady, and I don't wear make-up every day. Also I'm just not patient enough to muck around with things that don't work.
This is my HG eyeliner! The shimmer is subtle, and just takes the edge off the black, but on me it looks essentially black when on. I'm a fair skin (NW20) dark hair, dark eyes and I usually do smoky eyes or neutral - this goes with both! A light line is fine for normal wear, or a little more for evening. I also use it for theatre work.
It does take a little practice to apply, like two or three times. With a slant edge brush I just press on a little at a time (I don't attempt to draw a line across the eye as this is guaranteed to make a mess!) The texture is truly lovely - easy to use and non-smudge. I find most liquid eyeliners too runny, and many of the other gels are too dry. This is perfect!
Once dry, this stuff doesn't budge at all! Took me three attempts with remover to get it off, even after a full day's wear. It is a little more pricey than some, but IMO well worth it.
One tip I got at the counter was to take some out and put the lid straight back on, rather than applying from the pot, to prevent drying out. I always do this, as I'm quite slow, and she tells me it will last a year this way, rather than drying out in 3-6 months as some people say it does. But I think I'll use it up before it dries out! And I will definitely buy it again, and again...

Initially when I bought this product I was actually going in to re-stock on the regular graphite ink gel liner. However when the SA asked if I would prefer the shimmer or the regular one I thought I'd give the shimmer a try. I have to say I am disappointed by the graphite shimmer in terms of "last-ability". I'm sure there is a better term but I can't think of it. I like a natural eye so I tightline my lash line and use the remainder on the spaces on the top of my lashes. After I went and did errands I noticed that my liner transferred to my bottom lid, not pretty. I never had this problem with graphite ink so are the formulations different between the two? Nevertheless, I now need to find another gel liner to replace the one I just bought. What a pity! I do have to say though that the graphite color is beautiful and provides just the right amount of definition to my eye without being too harsh since I am so pale.

This is the first BB gel eyeliner I've tried and I'm now hooked! The color is great... a soft muted black (more like a dark gray) and goes well with my brown eyes. The formula is amazing. I have hooded (from age), oily lids and I've never found a waterproof pencil or liquid liner that stays on my lids without traveling. I thought I'd give this a try and I'm glad I did. I wear it every day and it stays in place and looks great. I now want to try some other colors. It may be a bit pricey, but you get a lot of product and a little goes a long way. One pot could last years, so it's worth it.

I was a little hesitant to get yet another pot of Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner as I already have 3 and can never seem to finish using them up - but the color of Graphite Shimmer was too beautiful to pass up! It's such a gorgeous gunmetal dark gray, it appears like a complicated black under darker lighting but when I'm out under full sunshine, it has glints of blue to it.
To compare this with the first few batches of gel eyeliner, I'd say that the texture has improved to the point where it feels different. My previous (non shimmer) pots were a little thicker & stiffer, Graphite Shimmer seems to be true to its name - more gel-like and pliable. However, the improved texture proved to be a slight con for me as where the previous liners did not budge, Graphite Shimmer would leave little shimmery stains around my oily lids at the end of an 8 hour work day. Though, I'm not too fussy about precise lining and would usually just use a cotton bud to touch up the line. continued >>
