My mom bought this years ago and passed it down to me. My first impression of it was that it was a dusty plumy rose and had shimmer in it. I usually hate shimmer in blushes, but the shimmer in this one didn't show up on my skin. I like this blush for the fall and the winter. I wouldn't buy this again because it's too expensive for a blush.

Meh.I occasionally buy Chanel, but during the last few months I became quite obsesed with the line.the previous blushes I bought were US versions but Orchid rose is the baked one which is sold in outside US.
well,it is a splurge really but it doesn't live up to my expectations. The texture is truly a trouble.it is so hard that I have to dig the product with my 109,not to mention that softer brushes like 168 do not work with this.As a result,it is hard to blend.I am surprised that people are saying this is a pigmented blush.I am NC20 and I have to layer it to see some color.I don't have a problem with sheer blushes,I actually always prefer sheer and natural colors on my cheeks.but I would like my expensive blush to be pigmented enough so I can decide how much I am going to sheer it out with different brushes and application.
The shimmer is very fine,it is barely visible on face, and I really love the fact that it is a green/silver flash rather than gold.it doesn't emphasize my pores, the lasting power is better than avarage.
I love the color a lot,it gives me the "my cheeks but better" effect, and looks neither too warm nor cool.
I have been carrying it in my bag for the last few weeks and I have to say I am quite into it but I just think that at this price point, texture and low pigmentation that is caused by it shouldn't be an issue. So I am giving 3 stars.

My absolute favourite beauty product of all time! I would never, ever, ever even consider changing blushes. It is absolutely gorgeous, and I have about 5 different colour (orchid rose and tea rose are my favourites) it is so subtle yet it brightens up your entire face. I recommend this to anybody with quite fair skin, or even medium skin. Lovely packaging, although the cover scratches fairly easily and the brush is a little small. Mirror can get a bit dusty from the blush, although if you keep the cover on this shouldn't be a problem. Amazing, amazing product, buy it!

Finally, the perfect blush that goes with everything! Subtle enough to go with lipsticks from almost-black-red to a sheer gloss; so glad I finally decided to buy this. Smell on application is such a nice touch.

This is a soft pink glowy blush that goes with just about anything. It is light, so I think it would show up better on fairer skin tones. When you swipe it though, I find that it deposits more glow than color, and it smells very, very strongly of roses. If you like this, then great. But I cannot stand heavily fragranced products... Granted, the rose scent does dissipate after wearing for a few hours, but when you are putting the blush on, the rose scent just sort of permeates your nose. Another note is that the blush itself is kind of hard (if you press on it, it doesn't yield). The texture is comparable to a Dior blush, but compared to Chantecaille blushes, Orchid Rose doesn't feel that finely milled.

This blush is soooooo beautiful. I hate bright blush (by my definition even Nars Amour is bright) but this blush is a very subtle, delicate, pink that makes my cheeks GLOW. The sparkles that look so obvious in the pan translate to this gorgeous sheen on the cheeks. It's not a doll colored pink, it's very much a natural human flesh toned pink. It basically makes you look lit from within. Gorgeous. The only two drawbacks are the price and somewhat the packaging (I hate the little brush thing, and think it would be much classier if packaged without it).

This is a review for the US version.
It wasn't a love at first sight, especially when I saw how sparkly it look in the pan. Then I swatched it on my hand and the sparkles were there but fortunately they show up as a lovely glow on my cheeks when I use my 187 brush. Surprisingly, it looks very natural on my NC20-25 skin because I can't really think of someone that blushes with glitter (NARS Orgasm, I am looking at you).
The thing is that as much as I like the glow, I prefer matte finishes for my blush because they look even more natural (I have breakouts sometimes so it can look a bit weird). I prefer experimenting with eyeshadow and lipstick rather than blush (bronzer is another thing, lol)
So, in few words - if you like glitter - go for NARS orgasm & co., if you like glow get this one, if you like matte finishes, go for Givenchy :)
The only reason, I wouldn't repurchase is that it takes me ages to finish a blush and if I am not 100% wowed by it, I am pretty much bored by then.
Edit: So I was feeling tired, I had an awful breakout and poeple were complimenting my complexion and how fresh I looked. Most were surprised that the only thing I changed in my routine was the blush so I am starting to get wowed.
Edit 2: I love love love it! I get compliments, it smells nice, my skin loves it so I am getting it again! continued >>

I love this blush on me! I'm NC30 in MAC, and I am very picky when it comes to blushes. I find alot of blushes to be either too brownish, too orangey or too pinkish, and I am always on the search for the perfect color. I previously owned the Chanel Blush in Rose Bronze but find it to be a tad brownish for my liking. The Be-Bop which comes in the rectangular pan is a little too light and too pinkish. Fantasia used to be my favorite, but they discontinued it. Orchid Rose is the PERFECT shade. It does not look too appealing in the pan and it's something I would have never tried on if I wasn't so bored that fateful day when I was out mindless shopping. When I tried the blush on and looked in the mirror WOW. This rose/berry color gives my face a radiant glow and it's the right tone and shade, just what I have been looking for. It makes me look so healthy and has a very subtle sheer sheen to it, providing the glowy effect. It is also highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way. The scent, just like anything other Chanel blushes/lipsticks is very pleasant. I constantly go to the mall to try it on before I made my purchase, and I noticed that it wears well throughout the day. I finally got it a few weeks later in the DFS store here in waikiki.

This was my first Chanel blush that I bought, and I must say I was definitely pleased with it. I hadn't tried out the blush when I bought it but it looked like a gorgeous natural color, and it turned out to be just that!
Its not the most pigmented blush I've tried (mine is the European version, I dont know if the formulation would therefore be different) but it is hard to overdo and it looks great on - super natural.
It does have a smell to it (it smells absolutely gorgeous but I'm not sure how to describe it) but it is unnoticable once its on your face.
There's not much product (only 4g!) but you really dont need to use a lot of product.
The only two things I weren't completely satisfied with would be the packaging and the price. The packaging is the standard glossy Chanel packaging however, after using the blush on a regular basis, I've noticed that the hinges holding the case of the blush together are getting loose, and its getting a little wobbly. The price issue is pretty self explanatory - it was 35 euros, and the Chanel website lists it as $42 - which is a little too much for such a small amount of product.
I said I wouldnt buy the product again simply because there are other products that I would rather buy for the same money that have more product in them. However, there is always the possibility that I would buy another Joues Contraste, but in a different colour.

Oh thank you so much MakeUpAlley for this discovery! I was always afraid to use blush, because I have a natural blush of my own (a very very light rosacea) and I thought that using a blush this would accentuate that. I've tried a few colors (from other brands) and they all afirmed the idea a had of using a blush on my skin... till I tried this one!
It gives me a nice and more important NATURAL color that it doesn't look like I'm wearing make up.
I've heard that the European version is another color than the US one, I don't know what the difference is between them but the European color is really natural and beautiful. It's baked, so you really have to swirl your brush a couple of times on the product but I like this. I can easily decide how much color I want and I can slowly build it up. I never end with to much blush :-)
If you want a natural looking blush, go for this one! It's not cheap (my God, I've payed almost as much as my foundation of YSL) but it's worth is. It goes with everything and every look you're going after.

This is the first time I've bought a blush from Chanel having used Nars for the most part in the past. I wanted something more natural with a flawless finely milled texture and this fits the bill. I have Nars Orgasm powder blush and then the Nars Orgasm Illuminator product which is in a tube. The color of the Orgasm Illuminator is perfect for my skin tone, but I prefer a powder blush. So I brought the tube into Nordstrom's with me and the sales assistant helped my to select the Orchid Rose color as the closest match. I love the color - it's very natural on my extremely fair skin that has a pink undertone. I hardly have to use any, the product has this fabulous rose fragrance and I believe there is more product per weight with the Chanel blush than the Nars. I'm very happy all around with this. It's one of my favorite Chanel makeup products so far.

at first ı want to say jacquest constante blushes are my hg blushes and my favorite one is narcisse and reflex.
in addition to this ı have 4 blush from the same product and one of these is orchid rose.
orcid rose has two different colour- ı mean it has two version. USA version is more pinky - ı liked that much more than my country version (türkiye/sells other version). if you like orcid you should look fresque and reflex also, ı think. ı love everything about these blushes. continued >>

Orchid Rose is a soft tawny beige with some soft rose in it. I'm NC 30, warm and yellow toned. I have to layer it on a bit but the end result is worth it. Gives you the warm, glow from within effect that is very long lasting and very natural. It goes particularly well with my peachy pink lipsticks and any of the beige ones). Definitely a warm colour, and one can't really overdo it, since I love buffing my blushes in. One of my better loved JCs and I do love them all.....

This is my 1st Chanel Blush! The first thing I noticed was that it smells so good! It smells like roses or lilacs. The color of Orchid Rose is light, warm pink with a beautiful subtle shimmery sheen. The powder itself is soo soft, which makes it effortless to blend. The color is very natural and subtle on my NC40 skin tone. I've been wearing it every day on my cheekbones over my MAC Golden Bronzer. Its such a pretty color and it warms up to my skin tone well. I bet it's better suited for lighter skin tones but I think its absolutely gorgeous and is one of my favorite blushes. I can't wait to try others.. such as Fandango, Mocha, Rose Bronze.. etc :)

I love Chanel blushers, smell is lovely I could smell them all day. Don't fade or streak, great pigment, package is lovely as well. Black sleek case easy to open and close. The brush is useless however. Mirrors are great on ALL Chanel packages. Chanel is the ultimate in sophisticated makeup. Soft texture and satin finish on this shade. I purchased this in Rome when I was 17 and remember that Iove the way it blended and the smell. The colour is a nude rose in my opinion.

I've been on the lookout for a possible future replacement for Narcisse since it's been discontinued. I'll use it until it's empty but I want to have something waiting in the wings for when that tragic day arrives. I know I won't be able to find an exact color match but thought I'd keep an eye on other Chanel blushes because I love the formula. The SA at the Chanel counter recommended this to me and it seemed like a beautiful neutral rose/brown option. Not my usual color choices but I thought I'd give it a try in case it ended up being spectacular.
When the SA applied it in the store it appeared very flattering. I avoid bronzers like the plague but I like the idea of a kind of sunkissed or naturally enhanced skintone. The neutral tones in this blush seemed to offer me a blush color alternative to a bronzer. So I purchased it on the spot.
But when I got home I was surprised at how ruddy my face looked. It seemed jarring on my pale skin. But the SA sometimes has a heavy hand so I thought I'd give it another go myself the next day. Still no luck. Even swept on lightly it appears murky and oddly brick colored. Nothing like it looks in the pan, at least to my eyes.
So I ended up returning this, but I give it 3 lippies for the beautiful shimmer, packaging, and scent.

This blush feels a bit difficult to apply mostly because it takes a bit of effort to get any colour from the pan, to the brush, to your cheeks. The powder looks quite hardened in the pan and, unlike Nars, it's not as smooth and easy to apply. I find with Nars blushes (which are also good) you need to apply them with a VERY light hand and gradually build up the colour IF you need to because the brush picks up so much pigment. This, however, you can go a little more crazy with. The massive advantage of this is, like everyone else has mentioned, it looks like a very NATURAL glow. On my NC30 skin, it's the perfect rosey (warm reddish pink) shade that makes you look like you've either been exercising or just blushing naturally. It is also long-wearing and after applying it in the morning, I find I didnt need to apply in the afternoon (which I do with other blushes, including Nars) Like everything Chanel, it is quite pricey but I think they have compensated for it by producing a blush that makes all the others look talcy and synthetic. NOTE: I took off one lipstick for the effort required in building up the colour.

Please click continued for pictures of the product and swatch.
I am reviewing the Euro version. I'm a neutral PPP with freckles, currently using Cle de Peau Refining Liquid fdt in I10/ Chanel Teint Innocence in #10 Albatre/ Shu Uemura Face Architect liquid in #774.
In the pan, it appears to be a peachy pink with some beige tone and a lot of microshimmer - it's less peachy irl than in the photo. When applied onto my cheeks, the peachy beige tone dominated, which I'm a bit disappointed as I wish it to be a tad more pinkish. Still, I like this colour. Applying too much of this can make my cheeks look like muddly reddish or even muddy. With a lighter hand, it gives me a warm flush, which imo more summery and light sunkissed. It's more like a bronzer that I can imagine I will put on my face though I don't use bronzer at all.
As for the shimmers, they are really very very very fine and it gives my cheeks a nice glow - imo the result is superior of Shu Uemura's Glow On P range blusher. Nothing OTT at all. As one of the reviewers pointed out, it gives you a dewy glow from liquid/ cream blusher without getting gloopy. She is totally correct!!
Regarding the staying power, it stays on for one whole day with minimal fading and note that, I didnt do any touch-up.
As mentioned by most ladies here, the blush is fragranced though I actually quite like the rose scent, lol. The brush is too small to be useful too - I mean it's usable but you need more effort to blend and whatever. I keep that brush to clean up the compact as the the powder tends to fly out a bit when I swipe with my own brush.

I have been a long-time user and big fan of Nars powder blushes, until I took better stock of how they actually look on me. When I did, I realized they appear cakey; in many cases, in order to achieve a decent color payoff, I sacrificed realistic texture.

I recently switched from using powders to using cream or gel blushes, and, while the appearance was more natural, something was missing: glow.

Orchid Rose, like many Chanel blushes, has such a finely milled shimmer that it is inseparable from the color itself. I am using Orchid Rose very lightly, on top of my Bobbi Brown pot blush. This gives the gel blush a lift that it wouldn't otherwise have and it extends its lasting power considerably. In and of itself, it is the creamiest powder blush I have used.

Others have noted that the Orchid Rose color appears different on the skin than it does in the pan; I will extend this to say that it appears different under Nordstrom lighting than it does in my bathroom. Under Nordstrom's high fluorescents, Orchid Rose is true to its name; it is both orchid (a purplish cast) and rose, cool in tone. At home, the orchid tone is lost and the rose appears more muted. On the skin, I do not notice any sallow (orange/yellow) tones, which aren't acceptable on my skin.

I use so little of this product that the price doesn't bother me. I am not likely to run through it at any time in the near future. A small dab (I apply it with my fingers, as I would a cream) has sufficient pigment and payoff.

The name is a bit commonplace, unevocative of exciting experience or location, and it isn't one of Chanel's sexier blushes, but it is a superb workhorse of a blush for anyone wanting a more natural look. continued >>
