This mask gave me a burn! I have combination, not-particularly-sensitive skin and when I removed it after using it in the early evening I had a red burn all over my face that remained until the next morning. I'm glad this was a sample. I love some of the other masks this company makes, especially the rose hip mask, but this did not agree with me.

It seems MB never fails to disappoint me unfortunately. This is just another dud in the long line of products i've tried from them that have either not done anything, or caused a rash that still hasn't fully cleared up 7 months later.
The cucumber tonic mask is supposed to sooth, cool, and absorb oil. I will agree that it absorbs oil, but that's about it. My skin feels dry and flaky afterwards and when you do that trick where you poke at your cheek it doesn't stick at all to indicate that there is any moisture in there.
So yeah, this and most of MBs products are overpriced junk. If you want to try one of their products go for the Enzyme Cleansing Gel!

Sorry all, but I was fairly disapointed with this. I have a slightly oily t-zone, and normal/dry temples and cheeks. (combo skin) i dont have 'acne' i would put more as clogged pores, and blemishes. I thought this would be perfect for me, given the circumstances. I was worried this would be too drying, but it wasn't. The pros:
-pleasent smell (though some may not like it)
-running but applies well and does not fall of your face!
-helps a tad with blackheads (but not deep set ones)
-lasts a while (more than 3 months)
Cons:
-doesn't seem to do much for whiteheads, or small blemishes for me
-leaves skin feeling dry
-the packaging is very unhygienic
-will definitely dry out if you don't use it in a matter of 5 months
-leaves my skin looking dull
It's not bad, but for me, i'd rather save those 18 bucks for something that will do a better job. My expectations were too high for this product.

I will add to the wonderful comments on this mask - I use it to perfect my face basically. If I have any dryness I just wash my face with my Purpose wash and leave this mask on for a few minutes. It makes my face smooth and exfoliates without stripping the skin. Doesn't make me breakout either! I have only used the trial samples, and I have to say the packaging could be better because the mask dries up in the containers too quickly. Usually I just add a dab of water to the container with the drying mask and that allows me to get some of it soft again to use. Wish it wasn't $18 minus shipping or I would just on getting the full size!

This was ok-I didnt think it was bad or amazing-It does what a mask does help exfoliate, soften skin etc. It did not feel any different than the Healing & Soothing mask.. I like MB products this is good but since I dont think it is much different than some of the other masks continued >>

Sorry to break the 5 lippie streak here, but I have to say this mask dried out my combo skin. After I got out of the shower I had dryness around the mouth and nose area that was very visible. However, I love what this mask did to the T-zone area of my face where I get pimples and blackheads. Will probably use this mask again but apply less around the mouth area where I am prone to dryness.

I got this as a sample as well, and after I saw the difference it made on my skin after only the first usage, I decided to come on MU to read other peoples' experience with this product. And it's not shocking - it seems that the results are pretty consistent since so many have already been raving about this product! I am sad that I threw away the sample jar after my first use today... gotta go on mario badescu's site right now to check out the price for the real thing and get my order placed!!! hooray for mario badescu!!

I absolutely love this mask. I love all of Mario Badescu's line, but since I have combination skin, this is perfect. It leaves my skin clean, but not "tight" feeling. Love the smell, and the consistency. Would recommend to anyone. Also, have used as a spot treatment in a pinch.

Great Mask! I really like many of the Mario Badescu products - especially their toners and creams. The Healing Cream and Calming Cream work *wonders* to combat the dryness/peeling/flakyness that occurs when using heavy duty acne products (Benzoyl, Retinoids, Salicylic, etc). I have very oily and very acne prone skin and this was sent to me as a sample. When I washed it off my skin looked calmer, pores tighter, and it felt very soft and moisturized without leaving a weird film on my face. This mask is one of my faves. I'm always been a fan of the superthick masks with clay and/or seaweed to absorb oil but sometimes they overdry - this mask doesnt.

I received a sample of this and I am IN LOVE. I currently have combo skin with active acne. I was a bit skeptical before. I'm red and blotchy right now with unsightly zits. I slapped this baby on and 15-20 minutes later (sometimes I leave it on for less- same effect) my skin is noticeably calmer with less redness. I agree with all the previous reviewers that you can feel and see it tighten/tone, but not to the point where you know you dried the crap out of your skin. I keep it in the fridge so it's nice and cool. I've used up my sample and have ordered a full size one. Their samples are very generous as well, I got over 5 uses out of the sample for this.

I have to agree with the previous reviewers. This mask is great. Really tightens your pores and clarifies and you see visible results within the first use. Highly recommend for combo/oily skin, especially.

This mask is so cooling and calming. It feels wonderful on your face.
I received this product as a sample and I love it. It works very well. I received other samples too, along with the proper way to apply and when to apply. My skin def looks better. I bought the drying lotion it is like magic soaking up any oil causing breakouts. They are gone in the morning!

This mask is absolutely wonderful! It is the only mask I have ever used that actually gives me visible results-- my pores look tighter and it really calms my breakouts. It is runny compared to other clay masks, but the application is very smooth and substantial. Although they last quite a while, I buy them two at a time because I'm so afraid to be without it!

Add me to the list of ravers for this mask! It's hard for me to find a good clay mask that doesn't break me out as my skin is sensitive to so many ingredients. I tried this 3 times before writing this review to make sure I really like it. Many reasons why I love this mask: 1) It cleanses my skin and even rids the little red bumps on my chin without breaking me out further 2) I love the texture - although it's runny, it "clings" on to your skin and doesn't drip, meaning you actually use less than those where you have to slather a thick layer on 3) It dries on your skin (I hate the greasy type which leave a film) but doesn't make you feel like you have a kabuki mask on 4) the scent is just heavenly.
Finally - a HG mask in my book!! For reference, I have combination, sensitive skin which occasionally gets cystic acne on the forehead and chin.

This really feels refreshing, and seems to dry up a little of the excess oil. It leaves a little bit of film on my face after using it, but I use it at night so it's not a big deal. I like the way my skin looks after using this. I will most likely repurchase this once I use up my sample.

I've used this once so far and its great, to me its just like the drying mask only without the film afterwards. UPDATE...used it again and its still wonderful, I love that it calms my red skin down.

I have very oily yet sensitive skin with occasional breakouts and needed a great mask to shrink pores without the extremely dry tightening effect. This mask is perfect, it doesnt leave me dry and doesnt burn the sensitive areas around my face. I will be purchasing the full size soon.

I love this mask so much. A little bit goes a long long way and the refreshing feeling you get after washing it off is unbeatable.

LOVE THIS MASK! This is very refreshing and keeps my oily skin under control. I have noticed that my pores are smaller since using this and it has helped diminish breakouts. It's a pretty good deal, since you don't need to cake this on, so a tub lasts a long time, I've had mine for over two months and only now am I making a dent in the amount.I love this whole product line and have many different items in my regimen.

I can't believe no one has reviewed this product yet! I have combo skin and was recommended this product from MarioBadescu.com. Love, love, love it like all the other products I use from this line. I use it about 3 times a night and on the other nights I use the gygloric cleansing soap. Using them together would dry me out. This mask has really helped balance out my combo skin and in use with the other products is helping with my seldom breakouts and large pores. Thanks MB!!
