This is the European version with both Mexroyl SX & XL.
My SO bought it from France by mistake when I asked for the Bioderma BioLait. But not all is lost, after using it for 1 week, I must say I like it quite a bit.
First off, my skin is dryish and sensitive. This sunscreen doesn't bother my skin even though Alcohol Denat is the 6th ingredient listed. The texture is a light lotion with a slippery feel. I suspect there is some silcone. It dries to a semi-dewy finish, which I leave as is, or dust a little powder on top to take away the shine. It didn't sting my eyes at all when I used it all over my face. It can feel sticky to the touch, but that goes away after 30 minutes or so. Fragrance is the last ingredient listed, and I do smell a light green apple scent.
Active ingredients: Octocrylene, Titanium Dioxide, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Avobenzone), Drometrizole Trisiloxane (Mexoryl XL), Terephtalilydene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid (Mexoryl SX). There are probably more, but the active ingredients are listed together with non-active ingredients, in their full chemical names. So it's hard for me to read.
The only reason I'm giving this a 4 rather than 5 is because of UVA rating. On the bottle, it says UVA+++, instead of a PPD rating. Since the bottle doesn't list the ingredient %, I can't even estimate the PPD. I have emailed Biotherm, requesting that information. I'll update this review when I hear back.
Edited to add: I have stopped using it on my face because I like LRP Lait Anthelios SPF 40 better, but this is still a great sunscreen for body. continued >>
