im actually on the hunt to buy another eye cream as this wasnt what i was looking for.
i bought this for $42 in sydney at the Estee Lauder factory in Rosebery.
Packaging - jar. i dont like jars because i dont like dipping my fingers in them for hygiene reasons.
product doesnt smell. the cream is light and not very thick in consistency - it is greasy though. spreads evenly and somehow always managed to get in my eyes making them sting and turn red. you only need a little amount for each eye but still some how manages to float around ontop of my eye and look shiny.
i did not get any milia or irritations from this other than the stinging.
I did find that my eyes were abit more hydrated than usual (i am not looking for a de puffer or something to help with lines or dark circles) but they were greasy and slippery. the product never seemed to fully 'sink in'. because of this i think that other creams would be better at hydrating. (it never made a huge difference, i still had crusty little skin in the edge of my eye) I was always fearful to try this with foundation or concealer as i would either move it (and cause a stinging eye) or due to its greasyness i didnt want to look like i had shiny eyes.

I don't think this product is as awful as many reviewers say it is, however, it's just not the right product for me. I'm only 20, so I don't have too much use for an eye cream unless it will reduce puffiness and dark circles from lack of sleep. My grandma gave me this product as she kept receiving it as a gift with purchase and already had a ton.
The consistency of this product is a gel rather than a cream, and it is quite oily and thick. I usually have to stir it up with a Q-Tip to mix up the oils with the actual cream. A tiny amount covers my entire under-eye area. It glides on smoothly and sinks in relatively quickly. It doesn't sting or irritate my eyes; it actually gives a nice, cooling, hydrating feeling to my eyes.
I have no problem with the application or feel of this product. The only issue is that this is meant to hydrate dry eye areas, and I don't have any dry skin surrounding my eyes. Every now and then I'll get a little flaky under my eyebrows, and this clears it right up, so it does what it says. But as an everyday eye cream, I really don't need this product.
I use this a few times a week before bed and while it does make my eye area feel more hydrated and a little brighter, it doesn't visibly improve dark circles or puffiness. Since those two issues are what I want solved by an eye cream, I would not repurchase this, especially not for $45. But if you do have very dry skin around the eyes, I would suggest trying this out, despite all the negative reviews, because this really is a nice hydrating eye cream.

It burns... it itches... it gave me the impression it would nicely hydrate the under eye area as soon as I tried it... and then it made my skin swell up and actually worsened the fine lines around my eyes.. what a disappointment :(

Horrible! The stinging to the eye after application is really bad! My eyes became very watery and felt quite painful! Despite this, it actually feels quite hydrating to the skin but I think it has added to milia and it hasnt improved my dry lines but they have not increased with use.

The first few weeks I used this eye cream I thought it was working to help hydrate my very dry eye area. I was wrong. I've had to put vaseline on my lids and corners of my eyes, they have become so dry. It also makes my eyes water although I haven't experienced any burning or irritation while applying.

I'd been in need of some serious hydration for my undereye area and when I went home for Thanksgiving my mom rummaged through all of her GWP samples to see what I could try. I looked this up and was concerned by all of the horrible reviews but decided to give it try since I was desperate and didn't feel like buying anything new. I love it! I use this every morning along with Lancome Absolue Premium Bx Moisturizer at night (which is not technically for undereyes but works soooo well). The dryness is gone and my wrinkle lines have diminished a bit as well. My concealer also goes on very nicely over this. I will repurchase when the sample runs out (which shouldn't be too soon as I only use a dab in the morning and the sample is a generous size).

What's with all the bad ratings? I find that this is a pretty good eye cream/ eye gel. Soaks in and moisturizes the area around the eye. It doesn't get rid of puffiness or wrinkles, but I've heard that nothing can really get rid of those but good sleep and genes.
A good daytime creme/gel because it's so lightweight.

I'm surprised at all the negative reviews! I'm on my "lost-count-how-many-bottles-I've-purchased-and-used." It doesn't get rid of dark circles but I love how it hydrates the skin around my eyes and reduces puffiness! I'm still on a look out for the PERFECT eye cream (one that gets rid of my circles too!) But I've been faithful to this one.

I got this cream as a GWP. I've been using it for a couple of days now. So far no allergic reaction at all (I was a bit chocked when I read the reviews). I don't have sensitive skin so that could explain why my skin has not shown any reaction.
Anyhow, this cream has a light texture. It is scented (smells a bit like roses to my nose) which is one reason why I don't like it. I prefer my moisturizers to be fragrance free. Plus this cream is not very moisturizing. Sure, it feels light but does not seem to sink into the skin and provide the moisturize it needs. I have dry patches under the brows and this cream doesn't, by far, provide enough moisture. I'm going back to using my HG "around eye" skin product which is Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair. That stuff does magic for my dry patches.
No, I wouldn't repurchase this product. For me this eye cream is below average quality-wise.

If you like burning and itching around you eyes, this is the product for you. This is the worst product I've tried. I had to apply a cold towel each time I applied it. They say it's good for combo skin - but its not. I returned they who line. It was awful.

This is possibly one of the worst eye creams I have used. It gave me tons of milia under my eyes and only used it a few times before it produced milia. It did provide some hyrdration but my eyes were still dry underneath. If you have puffiness ; this will definitely exacerbate the puffiness. Its such a harsh cream it will make your eyes water, resulting in puffy reddened eyes. Its too expensive for such a ineffective cream. Wish I had read the reviews before I bought it. I dislike this eye cream so much; I will probably not buy an Estee Lauder product for a very long time.

Like everyone else says, this burned so bad and made my eyes itchy and watery. I only got a sample size and it was for free. I'm glad I didn't buy the full item because it would have been returned immediately.

I am 29 and I don't have a sensitive skin. Up until yesterday I had never had any allergic reaction or irritation from cosmetics, ever. But yesterday I made the mistake of applying this stuff to my eye area and within seconds my undereye skin was on fire and my eyes were red and watery. Horrible, horrible stuff. Like someone said, it might be usable for a pedicure.

Got this in a package deal - meh - nothing special. Think regular lotion would be just as effective. Too thick for an eye treatment (less tugging the better) and it did start to make my eyes water after a while as other reviewers stated. Don't waste your $$$.

This stuff is wretched!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm usually brand-loyal when it comes to Estee Lauder, so I was looking forward to trying this one. But when I applied it, my eyes instantly started watering, and I wiped at them, and when I did, I apparently got some of this stuff IN my eyes, because they felt like they were on fire! It hurt SO much. My eyes were red and puffy that day and the next (despite my attempts with Eyzone and Advanced Night Repair). Shame on you, Estee Lauder, for labeling something for the eyes when it should really be used to strip paint!

This product stung like crazy. I was so looking forward to using it as I love the hydracomplete moisturiser. Stay away from this product if you have dry/sensitive skin. It burns!

I'm a big fan of EL products but this eye cream reduced me to tears. Instantly after applying I could feel my eyes burn and for the next few days I had to struggle with red and puffy undereyes. This product is best used for a pedicure or something else far away from eyes...

I've always had relatively dry skin around my eyes. This cream does moisture the delicate skin around my eyes. It performs its purpose - to hydrate, however, the side effect is the occassional stinging sensation that it delivers after application. This has only occurred rarely, nevertheless, this does affect my decision to repurchase. However, other times, when such misfortunes have thankfully not occurred, this cream is quite moisturising without being oily.

I got a sample from GWP. This thing is awful! My eye area is a little dry but this cream doesn't hydrate at all. It even made one of my under eye fine lines more obvious!! I am glad it is a sample and I throw it away.

The texture is light but it's not very moisturising. The product is ok,but probably more adapted for someone in their 20s.
