I originally bought this product because I am combination skin that was getting dried out in the Boston winter. So when I went into Nordstrom to pick this up, I figured it would be a win, like all of Mario Badescu's products are. Unfortunately, this product is not doing it for me. It does moisturize my face, BUT that being said, my face gets wicked oily at the end of the day when I use this. I have to mattifying lotion on top of this and that will keep the oily at bay for a little longer, but it still makes my skin greasy. I really wanted to like this product, but it's not a winner in my book.

I liked this product a lot. I use it for summer, it never broke me out and i have really sensitive combination skin. It works great under my mineral makeup and isn't too heavy.

Got this in a swap and really like it. It's thicker than most daytime moisturizers, but is not greasy or heavy. Keeps my dermatitis flaking at bay without breaking me out in oilier areas. Love the simple, compact packaging too.

I love this. Have been using it for five months now. It moisturizes with out leaving me greasy and it has SPF. It's light and absorbs quickly. Not much scent. Didn't make me break out.

I've been looking for a new moisturizer and was given a sample of this. While yes it was moisturizing, it made me incredibly oily. I have oily skin and didn't think it was possible to get more oily but apparently it is. Definitely will not be buying this!

I first started out using this moisturizer all over my face in the morning and then just around my mouth at night because I use Retin-A on the rest of my face. My mouth area has been very, very dry for the past year but it seems that most of the products I use make my perioral dermatitis flare up.
Anyway - Used it all over my face in the morning and a couple hours later WOW a thick layer of oil formed on my forehead. So I now put it just on my mouth area morning and night. It has helped significantly with the flakiness around my mouth area!
The formula is oil free which is essential for perioral dermatitis. It doesn't have the shortest ingredient list though and I have no idea what most of them actually are..
The lotion is pretty thick and a bit hard to spread around your face. It doesn't absorb very quickly either. I do wish it was a bit lighter!
It has no sent. It has not broken me out at all, just made my forehead oily.
It is a bit pricey.. More than I would normally spend on a moisturizer!
I LOVE the packaging! It is so easy to get just the right amount out and so far the nozzle has not clogged
I might buy this again but I want to try out Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel first. If I don't like the gel better I will get this one again because so far it's been the only moisturizer that has helped my skin and not broken me out.

Alright, it's a little bit thick, but it didn't make my skin oily, and usually I am prone to oily skin. It feels great on my skin - I'm guessing because it's aloe - and works as a pretty well sunscreen too. Aloe Vera in general has always felt great, and putting it into a moisturizer has just taken it to a whole other level. I will admit that it could be a little less lightweight, but overall I still really like it as a product. It didn't absorb into my skin as well as I'd have liked it too, but it still made my skin feel clear and refreshed.

I actually received this as a sample from the website from filling out their questionnaire. I have oily/combination skin with occasional monthly breakouts. From what I remember, the product was thick, creamy, smelled nice, and went on smoothly on my face. However, after a week of using the product in the morning, I got the worst dry, flaky skin around my cheeks/mouth areas! And I NEVER get dry, flaky patches there! I had to carry around and constantly use Aquaphor every few hours to heal the flakiness. Luckily my skin was normal again within a few day. I never used the product again and immediately tossed it into the trash. I will definitely and absolutely NOT purchase this product in full size.

I recieved two samples of this and I have been using it every day for more than a month. In the beginning, because of the SPF, I tried applying it in the morning before my makeup, but like others said, it's just too heavy for the morning. Even though it says oil free, it certainly does not keep the oilies at bay. My face looked even oilier throughout the day. So now, I've been using it at night only. I feel like it's perfect for night time because it's more creamy. I don't really know if it has done anything great for my skin, but it hasn't broken me out. I will continue to use up my samples (they last a long time) but I will probably not repurchase.

I have been using this one for 5 days now and I like it.
I bought this moisturizer without reading all the reviews in here (which I actually never do- I never buy something without consulting my MUA :) ).Anyways...while I was waiting for my order to arrive I read your reviews , girls, and I got quite scared when I saw that 90% of you didn't like the cream because it was causing breakouts. When it finally arrived I was very impressed...I like its color very much, even though this looks kind of synthetic, the smells is quite unexistent and it does not make me break out (which is quite impressive in my case: I have very sensitive skin which is prone to breakouts everytime I pun something on). Overall, this is a very nice cream, I have nothing bad to say about it...MB impressed me one again in a good way.

While this seemed to help my face feel soft, it was not good for my excessively oily skin. It may have contributed to my one large pimple that I had to cover up with loads of NARS Concealer.

This may not have been the best moisturizer for my skin type to begin with but I really dislike it.
I find it to be very thick and heavy feeling on my fingers and even more so on my face. It never sinks in, ever. It sits on my face all day and at the end of the day I can still wipe it off. I don't over apply normally and after the first time, I applied even less.
This is the first time I have ever had makeup slide off of my face. My makeup truly came off my face like sweat drops. Bleah! I am giving it 2 lippies instead of one because it didn't break me out and it isn't highly fragranced.

Yes it is thick, but you can spread it out evenly and thinly. I think it works well. I have been following the regiment they sent with the samples and my skin looks better.

I bought this moisturizer to get some extra SPF and (sigh) to safe some money. It worked nicely for just about a week and then gave me the worst breakout I've seen in ages. Even though it is oil free and it says that it's recommended for all skin types, it didn't work for mine (combination). I am greatly disappointed once more in Mario Badescu product and I am done trying to save $20 on skin cream. I can use the rest of it occasionally to add some sun protection but it's definitely not for every day use. Test it before you buy!

This was a sample I got from filling out the MB questionnaire, and was suggested based on my skin type. I used the small sample daily for about one and a half weeks, and always had suboptimal results with each use. This was way too thick for daytime use. It did not sink in, and left me with a film of grease under my makeup. This might be okay for someone with really dry skin, but not for someone like me who already has lots of excess oil. Will not repurchase.

okay, now this moisturizer i like! it is oil-free, weightless and very soothing. it has spf which is nice, and it does NOT make me break out. a very good day-time moisturizer.

have only been using for a couple of weeks but so far has been really nice. when i first tried it in the store, was really shocked with how smooth it went on and how soft my skin was. the important things about a moisturizer for me is: 1.hydration 2. not too oily 3. spf protection (although 15 is not that high) 4. no severe reactions (ie breakouts) - this one has met all of the above so i'll be using it for now.

I've been using the MB Buttermilk Moisturizer for several years now, and I love it, but it contains oil and that doesn't go over well with my skin in the warmer months. So I wanted to try another product in the MB line that was both oil-free and had an SPF.
So far, I've been happy with the Aloe Moisturizer. It took about a week for my skin to adjust to using a new product and I had some slight breakouts at first, but it's a great, lightweight daytime moisturizer that leaves my face smooth and soft. I usually use a little powder after it sinks into my skin because it can leave my skin a bit shiny.
Mario Badescu moisturizers are among my favorite. My only complaint is that I wish they offered higher SPF's in their products.

I am still on the search for an HG moisturizer with SPF! I got this after much consideration, but am not incredibly happy with it. It's a little bit too thick for me and makes me sort of shiny. Also the little place where the lotion comes out of the bottle gets clogged sometimes and out comes a dried up tube of lotion which I think is really gross.

i got a sample of this from a very nice MUAer but it was way too thick! it didn't feel like it sank into my skin very well and i got really greasy when i got to work (2 hours later). i'm extremely oily anyway and didn't need more oil! i think this would be nice in the winter time when it's dry out but too heavy for me.
