This is my all-time favorite eyeliner! I love the formula, how it applies, and how the color changes depending on what eyeshadow color I’m wearing. I love this formula so much that I bought 3 more in different colors to see how they compare! I love it with the neutral looks that I have to do for work and it really makes my eyes pop. The SA at MAC did my makeup, and I have to say besides the eyeliner I hated everything but I’m so glad he did what did so I could find this HG gem!

This is such a complex color - a black/brown with subtle olive undertones and little gold shimmer. Wow! how did I go without this eyeliner for so long?. I am glad I got it. If you are tired or bored of jet black plain eyeliners give this one a try. This eyeliner will suit all skin tones and eye colors.

I like it, my favorite thing is how smooth it goes on. The only sad thing is that the gold flecks are very subtle and sometimes don't show through at all. Sometimes when I wear it, it seems to last longer and look better than others. Apply it with a light hand, you will get better results (more flecks and smoother lines)

My favourite everyday eyeliner. It's a little more interesting than black with it's subtle gold, which also creates as softer look and can be used for evening as well.

Great color - dark but not too black, and lasts all day.

This is my HG eyeliner! I love the longevity I get out of daily wear, it lasts me all day and even when breaking a sweat. I find the colour suits my hazel eyes and with having sensitive skin/eyes it hasn't given me an adverse reaction. Great value also :)

This is the first eye liner pencil that hasn't left me looking like a crazy racoon by mid afternoon. I've tried using primer with my MUFE liner, and it still smudged on my lower lash line; same for any other pencil. But this MAC pencil went on smoothly, was easy to smudge, then set so well it's still on as I watch the 11pm news. Today was a good day for a humidity test as well, especially since I didn't use a primer. I also love the shade: a soft black with a hint of green and a smidge of shimmer. I was afraid the shimmer would look silly on me (I'm 40), but it's so subtle and flattering. This color brings out the green in my hazel eyes. I'd definitely buy this again, and would try other colors as well. This is my first MAC eye liner purchase, and it's a keeper.

My HG daytime eyeliner - glides on easily without tugging my eyes at all and is the perfect daytime tone. The shimmer is very subtle and it looks like a very deep brown on me - the green doesn't really show through. The only downside is its lasting power - unless I use eye primer + powder + eyeliner + eyeshadow it won't last the whole day but I think my oily skin and Hong Kong's humid climate work against it. On my third pencil already and will definitely keep buying - they last for ages.

I have to say that Buried Treasure is a gorgeous color! It's a greenish black with golden shimmer, and the green really comes out when you smudge the line. I love the color, but it's probably not the best color for me. It's definitely dark and looks basically black when it's on (because I generally don't smudge the line), but it's a soft black. I have fair skin, but dark hair, eyes, lashes, AND I wear glasses so I prefer super black liner. I've used up almost an entire pencil though, so it's definitely not a bad product. It lasts all day on me (on top of primer of course, I have oily lids). I doubt I'd repurchase just because I like my black liner better, but I think it's a great option if you like a softer black.

I love this. I've had problems w/my eye products really bothering my eyes, but not this pencil. Goes on easily, lasts, removes well. My only complaint is that it's not easy to find!

My new favourite colour. Soft so it doesn't drag on my eyelids, but not too soft so that it gives me raccoon eyes.

I decided to try this because of the good reviews. I already had Clinique Eqyptian, and they do indeed look exactly the same. It is a lovely wearable daytime color with a slight sparkle. The color looks very different depending on the light but it swatches deep green with gold specks. I will not repurchase because Clinique products are much more readily available where I live, so I will buy Eqyptian in the future.

This is the perfect alternative to black. Buried Treasure is a dark, olive green with a bit of gold sparkle. It's almost black but provides just enough color to provide a unique look. I think this is perfect for hazel or green eyes. It would also make brown eyes look more golden. I think it would look best on fair or medium skin tones. This is great for bronze/golden eyeshadows (MAC's Patina comes to mind). I love the texture of MAC's powerpoint pencils. Definitely a favorite.

I love this color! It is a very darkish green/black. I like it, because it's the perfect match with Smut e/s.. which I use a lot. I really love the texture of the Powerpoints. They are so creamy and smooth. This looks great on green eyes.

This is my HG eye pencil. The shimmery gold flecked green black color is amazing. My eyes look amazing with this color, I am on my 3rd pencil at the moment. I don't agree with MAC though, on the website MAC says powepoint eye pencils won't transfer, smudge, budge etc. Not all shades of the line is waterproof. This one is one of those that smudge and wear off. It has medium staying power, Used on waterline it smears on me. I don't mind though, but I am still looking for a waterline eyeliner that stays put..
***Edit 19 Apr 2011
I wish I could give this one 4.5 lippies not 5 :) The color is amazing. But staying power is not that good. Lately I use it underneath green eyeshadows and it looks great. I smudge it over my eyelids and apply shadown on top of it.

I bought this pencil because its swatch on my hand was superb. It is a very nice color, mix of black, green, brown and tiny gold glitters. But the color is so dark that it is not noticiable. In order to show the world that beautiful color you have to make a very thick line otherwise it looks like a muted black and no one will notice this beautiful color.
Lastly, it runs out like crazy because it is super super soft. Softer than other Mac eye pencils. I stopped using it because I used half of it in a month or something and don't want to pay that amount of money frequently to a pencil. And i will not buy it again.

My fav eyeliner for now. The color is simply amazing! Just as its name, "buried treasure", with gold shimmer showing through deep black. It glides on very easily, you can achieve either a fine line by sharpening the pencil; or a thick, smudged line using a cosmetic bud. The shimmer is not too obvious or too faint. The color is extremely versatile. You can wear it either day time or night time. Definitely a keeper!

If OPI’s Lincoln Park After Dark is a polish everyone should own, then MAC’s Buried Treasure is the liner every brown-eyed girl should have in her makeup bag. Buried Treasure is a blackened green with gold flecks (which are barely visible to my eyes). This creamy liner glides on like butter. I have oily lids and yet I still get great wear. Haven’t experienced any smudging which is surprising. It doesn’t look harsh like black liner can and it’s more fun than brown. When I line my upper eyelid, put on black mascara, my dark brown eyes seem to pop. Because it’s so creamy, the point gets duller faster forcing you to sharpen it more often. But I don’t really care. I like it enough that I’ve been using it almost every day since buying it, and my plan is to keep on buying as long as it’s available.

HG eyeliner.
Suits me perfectly, brown/green olive eyes. Lasts all day, you can apply in a fine line or smudge it. If I had to keep only one, I would keep this one.

I love this eyeliner. It is creamy and glides on smoothly. I usually have dry eyelids, so a smooth texture is definitely a huge +. It stays on all day long. I've only tried buried treasure so far, but I'll most likely buy other colors at some point in the future (despite the price).
Note: As a general comparison, the only other creamy eyeliners I've tried, before this one, are Clinique's cream shapers. I liked those, but found them too creamy (difficult to keep a sharp tip). MAC's powerpoint pencils are a bit firmer.
