This is the best sunscreen for my face I have used, period. Glides on, dries quickly, makes my face smooth. Great ingredients. No irritation or breakouts. I got VERY lucky at my local CVS store about a month ago. This product was on close-out, if you happen find one make sure you check the expiration date, some of the ones on CVS shelfs were marked from last year! I have a feeling this is being discontinued - I can only find it in stock one place online. Figures, everytime I find something I love they stop making it...

Best sunscreen on the planet. Now you must make sure you are buying the correct version. I have never been able to find this version in a drugstore - I've looked in both Southern and Northern California. I order mine from drugstore.com. My skin is freakily sensitive, easily clogged, oily and just basically very irritable. This stuff goes on shiny, dries in a few minutes, and is just the most perfect, awesome sunscreen I have ever tried - and, I tell you this: I have tried them all.

Before you review, make sure you are using the ULTRA SHEER version of the Faces line. I think it's terrific stuff. I wanted a broad-spectrum sunscreen that had zinc, and did not like my experience with other (and far more expensive) sunscreens, including Obagi C. This goes on nice and smooth, and does not clog pores or irritate my skin at all. It absorbs quickly, and makes my skin feel silky soft. It's a perfect moisturizer before I apply my mineral makeup foundation. No offensive smell. It's cheap. It works. Perfect.

This is a really good sunscreen! I have oily skin and always have trouble with sunscreens. I found a good one by Paula's Choice that is SPF 15, but this one is SPF 30 and really does feel sheer on my face. No breakouts, not shiny, etc. I am also surprised by the bad reviews- it could be that they were for the other Oil-Free Faces by Coppertone? Not sure, but in my opinion this is a very good facial sunscreen!

I too am surprised by some of the negative reviews, which leads me to believe that some reviews are not for the ULTRA SHEER Oil-Free SPF 30 with Pro-Retinol version of Coppertone Faces. This was a freebie from my dermatologist who highly recommended it... said all his other patients LOVE it, so I gave it a try. My super-sensitive skin (SO sensitive that it turns red when water touches it) has no reaction as it does with other sunscreens. It soaks in and dries almost immediately, has absolutely no fragrance, and a totally matte finish. It also makes a PERFECT makeup base for my mineral makeup. I have an extremely oily t-zone, and this has the added benefit of keeping my slick at bay. An amazing product; so amazing in fact that it prompted me to write my first review here. I would definitely re-purchase once my dermatologist's samples run out.

This was a terrible sunscreen! It made my pores get really BIG and I was an oil slick by the day's end. It has a funny smell (like an indoor swimming pool) and the funny flip top isn't easy to open. I have returned this product and just bought a bottle of Shiseido Lotion SPF 33... which is awesome.

I'm very surprised at the negative reviews. This is a great sunscreen, better than many much more expensive brands. I haven't had a problem with staining --maybe I just haven't noticed-- and it doesn't make my skin greasy at all. It really is very sheer. This is a definite keeper!

I can't believe the bad reviews on this product! This is the BEST sunblock I have ever tried--it has antioxidants, retinol, and high SPF. Good sized bottle too for the price. I have never experienced any staining that other reviewers complain about. I've always felt a greasy face was a necessary evil of heavy duty sunblock (hell, I'd rather be greasy than wrinkled from the sun), but once this stuff absorbs, it feels like high end skincare & not greasy AT ALL. Love this stuff and I hope they never discontinue it. continued >>

I ordered this from drugstore.com after reading reviews there and on this board. What a mistake. No fragrance, which is nice, but stained my shirt and towel a bright yellow (why??? and why no warning on the damned bottle about this??) and ran into my eyes and burned! Not as badly as others but still extremely uncomfortable. It also left my face looking extremely shiny and oily and began to flake off if I rubbed it in longer than 30 seconds. Overall I am very unhappy with this. Now, 2 days later and after only one use I have small raised bumps on the lower half of my left cheek- not exactly milia, not clogged pores- the allergic reactive kind of bumps. I will not purchase this again!

I have been using this product alternating with my usual Shisheido spf55. This seems to be a stable formulation, although Coppertone would not release the information about percentages in their product to me, even though I called customer service. Anyhoo, this is ok, when I was using Green Cream it made my face sting like nobody's business, but I can use it when I am not using retinol. My main problem with this is that it really clogs my pores. I can see it getting all dirty in some of my big pores. GROSS! I will finish this bottle, but will not repurchase, so I guess I'm sticking to my expensive (although lovely) Shisheido spf 55. Oh, and I am NOT keen on Coppertone not letting us know the PPID on this...boo on their customer service.

I don't know how much PPD/IPD protection this offers or even if it's stable, but frankly, I just don't care anymore. I ran out of FE and decided I wasn't going to pay through the nose or try to swap for more so I bought this out of desperation and I love it. I was using Neutrogena Ultra Dry before I switched to FE and though I liked the dry finish, Neutrogena burned my skin and eyes. So far no problems with Coppertone. My face still looks greasy but at least it's not sticky. My only complaint is how it stains everything it touches. Just ordered 3 more tubes from drugstore.com. It should last me the summer or until I can get my hands on more FE or Vichy, which doesn't look likely at this point. Overall a very nice, affordable sunscreen.

This BURNS! And I don't have particularly sensitive skin.
I actually tried it a few times, thinking that maybe using it over another product would work. It helped, but this stuff still irritated my face enough to give it a pink-red, sort of almost sunburnt look. I had varying luck with the finish....it dried matte if I applied a small amount, but when I used the generous amount recommended for sunscreens, it left a greasy sheen.

I'm very pleased with this. I originally tried the CT oilfree faces and it was super greasy on me. This felt thicker, but had that light quality to it. Once I applied and let it sit for a few minutes, it was suprisingly matte. It had a very slight sheen, but it was almost a dry powdery sheen, not a slick one. It felt well absorbed and soft. It did burn a bit, but I'm on Rx exfoliators (triluma, tazorac & differin)and pretty much anything I put on my face does. It subsided in no time. It felt almost as matte as the neutrogena dry touch but this one is supposedly stable. Maybe a reviewer with more knowledge of the PPD can comment since it's new. Another thing I like is it's in a smaller bottle so I can use it before the SPF diminishes and get a fresh bottle without wasting unused product. If it proves to be stable, this will be a great find for me. continued >>
