I wrote the following review for the matte foundation but I've used the satin when Ulta is sold out of the matte and found there isn't too much difference since I also use loose powder.
I've used this foundation for at least 4 years now. Price wise its in between the most expensive and the least expensive at around $24 for a 1oz bottle.

For me this has worked great. The color match is good, I use porcelein, it goes on smooth, and most importantly, it doesn't settle into my pores. Some people comment that it is heavy but I don't mind the heaviness because of the coverage. I have melasma (dark spots) on my upper lips and cheeks and this does a good job covering it. I've had quite a few people comment on my skin and ask me what I use, which to me is a good indication that a product is working as it should!
.
Other reviewers have mentioned that they get oily with this product. I have never used it without powder because I'm a very oily person, even at 35, and for me it works better than most foundations at staying in place.
.
During my time using this I've tried a few other brands and keep coming back. Bare Minerals makes me itch and break out, Loreal Colormatch settled into my pores, and the Revlon foundation that you dial for a shade did the same thing plus wiped off easily.
.
My 16 year-old daughter also used this foundation for awhile but for some reason the product turned orange on her face. We're not sure if its some other product she used, such as clearasil, that is reacting with it but she can no longer use Studio Gear.

This product made me remember why I hated wearing liquid foundation in the first place! It feels cakey on my skin and I hated that whenever would I frown or smile, I could feel this heavy product touching itself whenever I would do my facial expressions (i.e. smile, laugh, frown, etc.). I also used only less than a dime amount, which isn't a good thing if it FEELS this cakey. Although, it didn't look like I had caked it on and it gave me a nice subtle look.
I'm normally oily without my foundation primer, but for this experiment, I decided to test it without my primer. 8 hours later, not a shine in sight. I absolutely hated the packaging since it is so messy and not fun to use! For something this expensive, they need to improve their packaging.
I wouldn't purchase this product again so I'm sticking to my Bare Escentuals, which feels a whole lot better than cakey. And it doesn't give me the white fake face look when I take flash pictures, like this liquid foundation does.

I have only used this for a few days and it seems to be very nice and natural-yet covers. I will have to update since I am such a picky thing. If it passes a 2 week test it's a HG.

I loved this at first, but then came to realize it turned my face into an oil slick. I found myself having to powder my face so frequently, it started to look as if I had blochy orange-y skin (Yuck). Perhaps I will give the Flawless makeup a try next.

I purchased SG's Satin Foundation at Ulta after a try-on and mirror test outdoors. Porcelain is the perfect match for my PPP skin, which can get blotchy and pink. It is entirely neutral in color, great satin texture, evens out imperfections, is buildable, and last all day. Blends well and never streaks, cakes or leaves demarcation lines. After having spent a small fortune on other liquid foundations, this is what I'll come back to. Similar to BB and Prescriptives custom for a much smaller price. Note: the hygienic applicator - just pour some into palm of hand and apply w/fingers, or better yet, a SG foundation brush for flawless results.
Update: this is still my fave liquid foundation (1-07 now), as it doesn't break me out. Ever. Ulta and ulta.com carry this. Tried tinted moisturizer w/SPF 15 last summer from S.G., but it didn't have the same coverage or staying power. Just use a sunscreen underneath, and let it do it's thang.
