I dont really like this oil. If you want a good body oil smelling of roses, check out Jurlique’s (see my reviews).
1st. this doesn’t smell like roses, more of a spicy smell - probably the combination of pepper & cardamom. 2nd. oil is very thick & leaves a film on skin like it isn’t absorbed. I so want to shower after using this! 3rd. Troublesome. You gotta leave some water on skin so the oil can mix with the water to add moisture on your skin (no kidding, instructions of SA). 4th. even leaving water on skin which is crap cos you never know how much to leave on skin. I find myself using a lot of this on my damp skin. 5. utterly not spreadable. 6. I don’t know if it’s the pepper or what. But using this as a massage oil just about killed me. It actually made my skin hot (like it was burning) & it turned all red! I looked like a lobster.

Beautiful product, gorgeous oil and really does smell like roses, i use it in conjuction with the "rose by any other name" body cleaser and makes me feel so clean and beautiful, smells amazing, and although the smell doesnt linger on your skin the oil will make your skin feel like a baby. Its not expensive for what it is, and the glass bottle is slightly unpractical to keep in your bathroom, but nice looking enough for your dressing table. It does exactly what it says, which i love.
deffinatley worth the money, and lasts absolutly ages, like all the aesop products.
best thing of all is that it smells so delictae, soft and really lovely. Just like Roses.

I splurged on this rose otto, cardamom and black pepper-scented body oil when I placed a recent Barney's event order. At first I was surprised by the lack of rose scent--this oil has an herbal, peppery, slightly floral scent, closer to rose geranium than the flower rose. A pleasant scent--just not what I expected.
[I Googled rose otto and discovered that it is not only a very expensive oil (making me feel a bit better about the price I paid for this), but that it is an aphrodisiac and good for PMS. Woo woo! Also found that it is spicier in scent than the cheaper, more commonly used rose absolute oil (which has more of a fresh-picked rose scent).]
Anyway, the glass bottle has a plastic orfice reducer top, allowing you to easily drop a few drops onto your hand. A little of this goes a long way; it absorbs easily into the skin, leaving it very soft and not a bit greasy. The scent is soft and doesn't clash with my perfume.
In the end, I'd call this an expensive, but very worthy, splurge. continued >>
