I use this with Ruby Woo. Very dramatic and dark lip liner.

Very dark lipliner. I use this with cyber, dark side, hang up, diva, ... all my dark and vampy lipsticks. Can be a bit goth but I love that look sometimes, with a neutral eye for autumn and winter.

I used this lip liner with MAC cyber lipstick. This lipliner is soft, easy to sharpen and glides on perfectly. You can use it on its own and add some gloss or with a dark plum lipstick for a beautiful sexy vamped up look. I'm an NC50, and it looks great on my skin tone.
Love this lip liner! It doesn't tug, goes on smooth, doesn't dry out my lips and I've found that I can use it under and OVER lipsticks! I blend some on top into the corners of my lips and rub together to add some dimension to my lips. It's also very on trend with the whole gothic look without looking like Marilyn Manson yippee!
Nightmoth is a beautiful darkened muted purple. It has got to be one of MAC's if not, darkest lip liners. I am a big fan of dark lips (I often use OCC's Lip Tar in Tarred -- which is straight up black). I pair Nightmoth with Tarred to make sure there is no feathering around my lip line. I also use Nightmoth to darken other lip colors, such as darkening the outer corners of my lip when using a red lipstick or a purple toned lipstick. It contours and gives my lips more depth when I am on stage. To simply put it -- I find this lip liner to suit most colors for me (except light colors of course). Nightmoth can also be used as a tool to give other lip colors dimension.
The color payoff is pigmented, the texture is just right -- not too creamy where it'll slide off your lips, but not too dry where it tugs your lips. I highly suggest that if you enjoy wearing dark colors such as myself to pick up Nightmoth.
I ordered this online and ended up going to the mall and buying Up The Amp and Girl About Town. I tried my other liners with them but I couldn't get them to look right. Today I got my Nightmoth in the mail. Perfect. It tones down the color making them very pretty and wearable for my nc50 skin. This is now a staple color for me.
UPDATE: Since getting Currant, I realized just how dark Nightmoth is. I prefer Currant over Nightmoth.

This is the only lipliner I use by MAC. Currant and Chestnut were my faves but I found myself using Nightmoth more often. I use it on it's own or with other MAC lipsticks. Highly recommended.
currant was my fav liner not anymore. nightmoth is super hot. currant has more red in it. nightmoth has more black in it. eggplant and purple if u can imagine that.

I got this because I like the name (how bad is that? I know) But I got lucky, this one is a winner. This is a beautiful deep color. Looks purple on the pencil but picks up some red when it goes on. I was surprised a pale person like me could make this look alright, and granted, it looks quite dramatic, but in a very. good way. I line my lip and fill a lot of it in with the pencil, then smudge a bit to even it out, looks like a smashed a patch of berries on my lips (awesome). You could also just use a bit of it for a nice healthy berry stain. I highly recommend it.

This is my HG lip pencil for deep berry or dark red lipstick. It also looks very good when BLENDED with any pinkish lip glass on my skintone. The texture goes on very smooth and I love that it still looks berry and not black once applied. I have purchased two of these so far in the last several months.
