This review is for The Sun Screen SPF 50+ PA+++ Mild 40 ml (white bottle with mint green lettering). This is the best sun screen I've ever tried so far. It's light, non-greasy (thank goodness) and not too drying, either. It's much more liquid than most sun screens but the nozzle tip allows for excellent control. I'm happy with the amount of protection and that it doesn't leave a white cast on my dark skin.

I bought the yellow bottle with blue lettering kind that comes in 27ml. It's an asia only product so it will probably be difficult to locate. I was really hesitant to purchase this one because the Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection spf 50 that you can get in NA department stores left an awful feeling of oily film everywhere I put it and couldn't get it off either. This one is TOTALLY different. When you put it on, it's extremely fluidy like the ultimate so a little goes a long way. But after a while it just sinks into the skin and leaves an extremely soft matte finish! Being a spf 50 pa+++ rating for a japanese only product, I have no doubt it has great uva, uvb protection. The only reason I wouldn't buy this product again is because there's a lot of other sunscreens I have yet to try!
Update: Now that I'm using Obagi and retin-A my skin is extremely dry and flaky. This product just accentuates the flakes, so if you're prone to flake, this will make it look a lot worse.

i'm so bummed this stuff is being dc'd!! i only discovered it a couple of months ago on MUA, and ordered it from Ebay. this was fairly cheap, even with international shipping factored in. the texture is runny, milky, and slightly powdery. it blends very smoothly, and left my face not oily, not dry, but nice and matte. i am NC15-20, and i didn't have any issues with this looking white. i have the non-waterproof version, and it sticks like glue! i have to wash thoroughly to remove it all. i also have VERY sensitive, acne-prone skin and this has not made me break out or irritated my skin. i need to stock up before they're all gone!!

This review is for the made in Japan non-U.S. market Shiseido The (waterproof version) Sun Screen SPF 50+ PA+++. (yellow bottle blue lettering)
Cannot say enough about this product! I first heard of it through this website when doing research on photostability of certain sunscreen ingredients. I was planning a trip to Greece and was looking for something waterproof, that was good for daily use, that provided maximum protection, was good for acne prone - oily skin, photostable, and cheap. A combination which (in one product) I had almost given up on finding. I had previously splurged on Bio-Derma PhotoDerm Max which was expensive and ended up clogging my pores and spilled all over the inside of my purse. I've also used Obagi's Healthy Skin Protector which is a superb product but is not waterproof and is also somewhat pricey.
After ordering this product I soon found that it was everything I was looking for. Not only was it cheap (e-bay!) it provided a matte finish, did not clog my pores and only required one to two reapplications per day during heavy sweating and swimming while on my Greek adventure. Also as a resident of Arizona and someone who rides their bike to and from school (yes, even during the summer) I can attest to the fact that the product provides the type of protection it promises. The product is light and non-oily and best of all comes in a small easy to carry bottle. Don't let the small bottle fool you - a little bit of this product goes a long way.
The only possible draw back is the fact that if you don't apply it properly it does leave a very light white cast. It's no real biggy though just make sure you don't glob on a whole bunch then let it dry. My problem was that the product is not thick but rather milky and light so when initially applying it I would make the mistake of applying way too much of it unevenly.
Hope this review helps.
P.S. I have also used the non-waterproof mild version of this sunscreen (same SPF and PA) with the same excellent results. Because of my life style I feel I need a waterproof daily use sunscreen but the non-waterproof version is just as high quality.

this review is for Shiseido FT The Sun Screen Mild SPF 50 PA+++this is simply the best sunscreen i have ever used. i thought my previous shiseido sunscreen (the small blue bottle w/ orange accent) was good, but the ft mild blows it out of the water. this actually does not add any shine to my super oily skin. it doesn't cause any irritation and is super matte. i can't get over how matte this sunscreen is... seriously, all oily gals should use this! the product is asia exclusive, but can be found on ebay for a reasonable price. ladies w/ dry skin should not try this. u will probably be disappointed at how dry ur skin gets. oily ladies, i cannot rave about this enough. i would give it a 10 if i could. hg sunscreen for sure continued >>

This review is for the (Asia-only) Shiseido FT The Sun Screen Mild SPF 50 PA+++
I tried this sunscreen because I had been using (and loving) DHC white SPF 25, and I heard this was similar, both in PPD rating and consistency, but is less expensive (available on ebay).
So far I like it almost as much as the DHC. The consistency is more watery, and part of what I liked about the DHC was how although it was very fluid, it also had a creamyness to it and "clung" to my face. The shiseido takes a bit longer to sink in and somehow the thinner consistency makes it a bit harder to spread evenly.
The price is much better though - $8 for 40 ml vs. $25 for 30 ml. (I am not counting shipping but it was about the same anyway)
I like to have an all physical sunscreen for days when I am wearing a mineral foundation so this is my HG for now.

This is from Shiseido's Fine Toiletry line and is rated SPF50+ and PA+++ for the ultimate water-resistant protection against both UVA and UVB.
Despite the high protection rating, the sunscreen is really light and leaves a nice matt feeling after application! Its base is cyclomethicone, which even does the extra work of absorbing excess oil from the skin!!!
It is available in a very compact packaging, which works well for me.
Only thing is that some people may find is that it may leave a slightly white cast when not applied properly.
There are a few versions of this product but I am only referring to the 2 SPF50+ PA+++ versions (for some reasons, the ones below SPF50+ are only PA++ or lower).
Normally I use the Mild (white bottle with green wordings, 40ml) one as although non-waterproof, it has less harsh ingredients. But I do use the waterproof (yellow bottle with blue wordings, 25ml) version occasionally when I participate in sports or water activities.
Initially I like the waterproof version cos it feels dryer and can control the oil slick on my face for hours. But these days, I like the Mild version better because it seems to moisturize as well.
Oh yeah, both cost the same in my country, Singapore, and so the Mild version is also more bang for the buck :-) continued >>
