I like this trio: I have the bold nudes (pink/brown/green) and it's highly pigmented, stays all day and is easy to blend. It does bring out the green in my eyes. The colors are great for a day makeup. The brush is crappy and i don't use it, I'm using the MSC fluff brush (213) and a shorter shader brush for the crease.
I took off a lip pie for the useless brush and the cheap plastic container. But the shadows are great quality.
I love the colors in this palette, especially the dark purple eye shadow. My mom originally had this, and after using it a few times, I bought my own. It is very pigmented and does have alot of fallout, but it does make green eyes really POP. The key is to put it on the lashlines and outer corner, not on your whole lid. The only complaint is that the shadows crumble easily and both of ours fell apart.
Like the previous review "Almay has a couple of shadow trio's that play up the green eyes. This is the trio that's shaped like an eye lid with wine/taupe/champagne." NOT the one with the straight strips which I quite like very much. THIS one shaped like the eyelid, it is difficult to pick up the color, but with alot of work it can be done, but after a couple of hours the color just kinda washes away and looks muddy.
LOVE the one with the straight strips, why make a new version that is bad quality??
The green color looks weird on my eyes. It's an ugly green. I do use the white sometimes though... it's just, the trio is simply not pretty.
I have this in #004 (purple, dark green & light green) and it's the one with the little a's on the shadows. I really like this trio and it looks nice on my eyes. It lasts all day without using primer. I like that the applicator has a curved shape too. I got this during a buy one get one 50% off sale, so I'd buy it again. Otherwise they're a bit pricey.
Update: I had to change my answer to No, I wouldn't buy it again since they changed their animal testing policy. :/
I got this palette at the dollar store for 2 dollars and I really like it.The colors are really nice but as a trio I just don't feel that it works well together. This isn't my favorite Almay product but certainly a good buy.
The forest green in particular is really beautiful and I don't have another color like it.They go on so smooth with their buttery texture a really good quality palette
If you have the chance definitely pick these up.
Almay has a couple of shadow trio's that play up the green eyes. This is the trio that's shaped like an eye lid with wine/taupe/champagne.
THE COLORS: the largest "slot" is a wine/copper color, that can easily look like you ran into a doorknob is you don't have a light touch. Its very pigmented. The midtone or the "crease" slot is a taupey/silver/grey color. Its actually very pretty. The last is the highlight "browbone" slot. Its a champagne color with a hint of rosegold. All of them are very shimmery. All of them are pretty pigmented.
THE QUALITY: There is a lot of fallout with these but they are not dusty at all. They blend well, but when you use the sponge applicator included it kind of mucks up the shadow, like there is a lot of oil in the shadow so get these spots in the pan where is sticks and wont pick up color on the applicator. Tried using a eye shadow brush but the fallout was incredible!
THE PACKAGE: Really Almay? the shape of an eyelid? Its like remedial eye makeup. "Lets put them in pans so they will know which color goes where!" If that's the case, then they got it wrong. You get way to much of an accent color and not enough of what you'll use most.
OVERALL: As annoying as the trio is (and it is) I still friggin reach for it when I'm wearing warm colors because it really does make my green eyes POP. The trick is to blend blend blend and a light hand on that wine color. I hate that this works.I only bought it because it was free when I bought the mascara. Who would have thought?
This just did not work for me. I know purple and green are supposed to go together to highlight green eyes, but all this did was make me look like I had gotten in a fistfight. I could not figure out how to put these three colors together successfully. I have officially moved on to Wet 'n Wild eyeshadow palettes.
I got this for about $5 at Target and it's definitely a winner! I have the compact with a bronzey color, a dark green, and a champagne highlighter. The bronze and green are pretty well pigmented (the highlighter probably is, too, but I don't use it). They are soft and apply a lot of color with one swipe, so I have to be careful not to overdo it.
The bronze is just beautiful and REALLY makes my green eyes pop. Most of the time I just wear that color by itself. For more drama - a LOT more drama, in my case - I use the dark green in the crease. It makes my eyes look dark and quite "done up" but it's very flattering!
This colors in this compact looked a lot more sophisticated than the other Almay eye-color eyeshadows on the rack.
i bought this at the dollar store, so i am assuming it's discontinued, and also mine looks a little different with some embossing on the shadow.
i absolutely love it. i have blue eyes but i wear every shade out there. the colors look great together and paired with a good primer, i couldn't ask for more, especially for a buck. i picked up two of the other trios as well. def. suggest purchasing if you find it somewhere.
