This is a great highlighter for a neutral eye. I use it with Omega and Copperplate. I would agree with those who say that it is more of a matte than satin finish. It is a must have, but I must say that Wet n Wild Brulee is better than a dupe for it! The Wet n Wild does not need to be built up like the MAC. For the price you can't beat the Wet n WIld. I will use and rebuy both.

Boringgg, buy Blanc Type if your interested in a satin highlight. Brule is to yellow toned.

I got this shadow and two other and they're my first MAC eyeshadows. The lady put it as a highlighter with Satin Taupe which i FELL inlove with! I got it because it seemed like I needed a highlighter and that I trusted the worker to give me a good one and not rip me off. well i was wrong. this shadow sucks! i have to put so much on my brush and it makes my eyes look so matte compared to the Satin Taupe. Since I can't drive and no one wants to take me back to the mall, I'm stuck with this eyeshadow for a while...

This is a must have in my eye makeup palette. I loads of eyeshadows yet this is one that I reach for on a daily basis. I use this to highlight and it goes really well with my skintone NC25. It's great for blending other eyeshadows to soften them. It doesnt look like anything special but it is just one of those colours that seem to be perfect for me, not shimmery, not too opaque, just a perfect wash for underneath the brows. I also use this on my 224 to set concealer under the eyes. It stays and doesnt budge. Have another 2 as back ups.

it translate into a matte light beige skintone shadow on the lids. however, it is not pigmented at all. i had to scrape and or put on few layers in order for the color. i tried it on nc 42, nc30, and nc 20-25 skintone and looks lovely for a clean polished look, but i cant justify paying $11 + for a shadow i have to work with.
wet n wilds brulee is an exact dupe($2.99 and often have 40% off at rite aid) is way more pigmented and soft.
considering the great reviews here, i may have gotten a bad pot. if i have to pay a lot of money for makeup, i expect great quality regardless

I love using this shade as a base color with shimmer colors in the outer corner. I also love that it alost acts as a concealer and neutralizes any veins on my lids and brow bones

This seems more of a matte than satin eyeshadow. It's the perfect highlight color; subtle yet super natural looking. I also love wearing this all over my lid with texture and cork in te crease. It's a beautiful cream/beige color that's not shimmery. Def would repurchase!!

Love love love! This is great for a subtle brow highlight or a base shadow to neutralize your lids. It also blends out other colours very nicely. This is a staple in my MAC palette.

This should be classified as matte instead of satin. It's a creamy beige color that I use on my inner half lids to balance out a more intense color in the outer half. I use it as a conservative and grounded option to shimmery lids look. Love the color.

I've always used a nude eyeshadow for my regular daily looks and this is my all time favourite. I use it on it's own to brighten my eyes on my regular days and as a base before I put heavier colours down on my lid. I adore it, probably my most used eyeshadow.

Of all my MAC shadows, this is the one I use most. I use it mostly as a base shadow over the entire eyelid. In the beginning I thought that Brule was invisible on me but it's not, it´s only more matte than satin, i think. I will definitely buy it again! It is a staple in my makeup bag! Perfect base shadow!

My most used MAC eyeshadow. Satin finish so can be used for all occasions. I use as an all over lid colour on days when I don't want to wear coloured eyeshadows. Great pigmentation. Very easy to blend. Would make a great highlight colour on darker skin. Will definitely repurchase.

This is my basic colour for eye-makeup. Just a nice skin-like colour, that matches with my skin tone (BB sand/MAC NC 20).
Other colours like vanilla, shroom were way too light for me and I´m not into very highlighting or frosty colors at all So this was my choice for a base colour to use all over my lid. I use it nearly every day.

I love this product. It works very well on my eyelids, and the color is wonderful. I use this almost daily. I first put on an eyelid primer, then this color, especially in the corners. It brightens up my face, (I wear black eyeglasses) and eye area. I am a real fan of this particular color, AND, this company. I love MAC cosmetics.

I bought this because reviews were good and it's used in so many You Tube tutorials. Sadly it lacks pigmentation and I really have to load it on to my brush to get any pay off. Once I get some colour it is good, if a bit chalky. Maybe I just got a dodgy one so that's why I have said I would buy again because, perhaps, another one would be as good as other people's. Alternatively I will take a look at Bobbi Brown's shell or bone.

Brule is a colour I'd contemplated getting for ages but I had shadows that were similar and I also got Wet n Wild's Brulee, which is a total dupe and costs a small fraction of what MAC's shadows cost. But then the CAVIAR DREAMS QUAD came out last year and it looked exactly like my sort of thing. The shade called "Caviar Dreams" looked so beautiful and the quad also contained 2 shadows I'd thought of buying for years (Brule and Restrospeck) so I got it and it represented really good value, in terms of the cost.
I have to say I really, REALLY like Brule. It's basically the colour of my lids, minus the transparency and blueness that shows through. Even worn entirely on its own, it makes me look better because it does cover any discolourations and shadows on my lids and beside my nose. Add some liner and maybe a bit of subtle contour in your crease (something like Omega or TF's Teddy Bear and you have a perfectly sophisticated, lady-like and finished look in less than 2 minutes! How great is that.
I have mine in the new MAC quad packaging, which I hate in spite of the sleeker, more solid look and feel. It's held closed by strong magnets (good, so it doesn't pop open) but it's very hard to get a secure finger-hold to open this without it popping out of your hand. I much prefer the old style MAC quads with the little "release snap" thingy on the front.

I give Brule four lipsticks, because I really do love this product. I have to consider something to be outstanding, maybe even almost HG material to give it a five. I do think this is a fantastic product! Brule is a satin finish, so it's a bone shade with slight shimmer. It's not super pigmented, but it's definitely buildable. I love to use this as lid shade with matte shades in the crease. It's a little more natural than something more matte on the lid (i.e. Vanilla, which I also love), and it really brightens my eyes. My fave combo is Brule on the lid, Copperplate in the crease, Soft Brown to blend out and warm up my crease, and Vanilla to highlight. Add some black liner on the top lashline and mascara on upper lashes, and this is my go to daily look. I'm sure this color is dupe-able, but I just love MAC and plan to repurchase whenever I use this up.

You just can't go wrong with this beige colored eyeshadow no matter what age or shape of your eye. It is very subtle yet it brightens. There may be cheaper dupes for it but MAC doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes so I stick with what works for me.

This is the most beautiful and versatile eyeshadow I have ever come in contact with, it is literally perfect! I just purchased this after being on the fence about it for quite a while and I am so glad i did! I want to use this color every day! You can use it for so many things and create so many looks...its not too shimmery which is so lovely for a highlight because it is not overly shimmery like other eyeshadows similar to the color of brule. this used on my lid and brow bone make me look polished and awake, there is something so beautiful and ethereal about this color...I adore it!
