Cherry is a true blue red lip liner that goes well with medium toned red lipsticks and lipglosses. Russian Red and Ruby woo look great with this color. To me it has a true vintage red hue and it acts as a great base to strong colors to make them go on consistently and stay on longer.
I dont wear a red lip very often but when I do I will always reach for my cherry lip liner. I have uneven shaped lips and without this liner I couldn't actually wear red lipstick. I use it all over my lips rather than an outline. I then apply my lipstick on top. I have paired this lip liner with Russian Red, Ruby Woo and Hot Tahiti and it looks good under all three. It's the perfect colour. My only tip would be to make sure it's very sharp to get the crisp lip line you're after. The perfect lip liner. X

It serves well as a base for my Russian Red and when I'm feeling super lazy I wear it solo. Can be drying though
Blue based, almost fuschia liner. Matches Mac Red, Glam, Ruby Woo...but I just don't like this nearly as much as Brick liner. Is it just me, or is the formula different? I find Brick liner to be a much more flattering color on my slightly olive skin, and Cherry looks almost pink, which I don't like. I can see Cherry being absolutely stunning on a pale skinned, blue eyed dark brunette. But, that is not me, so it's back to Brick for this girl. Mac's lipliners are all highly pigmented and this one is no exception. If you like the color, it works by itself or with a dab of gloss.

Cherry on its own is a blue-based red, so much so that it almost looks fuchsia on me; I think my colouring brings out the blue. The consistency is dry and staying power is very good, but I don't really find it overly drying even when I wear it a lot.
I like very neutral reds, preferably with a slight leaning towards yellow. Those are kind of rare, so I mix blue-based and yellow-based products to get the right balance. My favourite combination is MAC Cherry under MAC Lady Danger. Cherry gives Lady Danger's slightly flat yellow red a nice depth and vibrance, and the end result is pretty much a clear, neutral bright red with very little of both blue and yellow tones. I like it, it's the perfect bright red for me, and I generally like the quality and reliability of MAC lip liners - no mess, no fuss - so I will most likely repurchase.

A bright cherry red. Very matte. Good to use under a red lipstick to keep it from bleeding.

Holy moley this is red! It is a lot brighter than I thought it would be - it is indeed Cherry Red! (Blue toned, not orangey) Not for the faint hearted, this is full on, in your face, red. Love it! (and I am not a lipstick person at all, normally lip balm!). This is smooth enough to be smudged out all over the lip and lip balm or gloss popped over it. I would only dare to wear on a night out with very little on the eyes though. Think, All That Glitters eyeshadow, black eyeliner, and full on mascara. Fabulous!

Hands down, my favorite red lipliner. It warms up easily and goes on so smooth! I use it under my MAC New Temptation lipstick and helps to keep my lipstick stay on all day (which, especially when wearing red, is very important)!!

I was looking for a good red lipstick and saw that some people were using this lip liner instead of Ruby Woo lipstick.
I've worn this on its own and it is a very beautiful ,confident red.
Bit more on orange side than Ruby Woo.
I get comments from men when I wear it.
When you are wearing a bold color on your lips , I think it's important that it's not too runny that it gets on your teeth(my ultimate pet peeve ) ,
So I like how this stays on your lips and doesn't run at all.
I did get ruby woo lipstick in the end, but I would still use this to get a crisp line and I still go out with just this and lip balm in my purse and go out!
A must if you like vintage red lipstick look!

Beautiful bold blue-red I got in a swap (thanks abbygal!) recently. I use it sparingly so as not to overpower the lippies I use over it. I love Queen's Sin over this, and I also like some of my other cool-toned reds over this. I haven't had any issues with smudging either.
One day soon I would like to use it sparingly by itself, blot and then use a clear lipgloss over it to see how that would look. I think this would impart a nice stain on the lips.
