I believe that finding the perfect nude lipstick is actually much more difficult than finding the perfect red shade. After all when we look for a nude lipstick, we are trying to pale down our own colouring a few shades, and that can indeed make you look not very well rested at best. I learned this the hard way with Honeylove, my only (un)conscious attempt at a nude lipstick so far.
When I bought Honeylove I thought I had found the perfect shade for my days of smoky eyes. It looked beyond perfect in the tube (slightly pinkish nude with a hint of brown) and swatched on my hand. However it certainly did not look good on. The only reason I can think of is that perhaps the natural colour of my lips (which are not crazily pigmented) mixed with the lipstick produces a very unflattering grey undertone. I do not experience this when I use the colour as a blush, which is what I ended up doing. I feel really puzzled because I have tried a lot of lipliners and cannot make it work at all. I love the texture, pigmentation and just everything about the product, it is just that it does not work on my colouring even though I am NC20 and in theory this should not wash me out. The same thing happens with my mother, who is paler than me, blonde and green-eyed; it just looks grey.
Since a slight veil of foundation over my lips does not look horrifying, and as nudish caramel tones seem to also work on me, I can only find fault with the colour in Honeylove. I strongly, strongly advise trying this on before purchasing and letting the colour sit on your lips for a while to see how it finally turns up. Alternatively, make sure you have a decent return policy. These colours are always a gamble, so you need all the help you can get.

I love matte, nude lipsticks HELL I love everythang matte so this was a must have for me. It is definitely long wear, however I've noticed that Mac lipsticks turn slightly white on the side of my lips after a while so I'm looking to try their lip primer.
I was at MAC and I was looking for a lipstick to pair with dramatic eyes and something "natural" because typically I love bold lips. I am an NC35 . pretty tan so it's almost impossible for me to find a nude that doesn't make me look like a corpse. I asked the SA to recommend a nude-ish /natural lipstick that would compliment my tan skin and she suggested this. When I tried it on at the store I loved it underneath the lights, even though it was pretty light I paired it with "Baby Sparks" dazzleglass and fell in love. I also loved how it didn't make my teeth look yellow like a lot of nudes can do. It is very pigmented and the smell and texture is divine. Unfortunately, I feel like this lipstick is too light for me. It kinda washes me out but maybe I just don't like how light my lips look. Overalll, this is a great nude for lighter skinned gals but unfortunately this doesn't suit me the way I had hoped. I am going to suggest "Velvet Teddy" if you're NC 35 and up.

I have been using this color for years. I absolutely love the color and the matte finish. You can slap some gloss over it or wear it by itself. You can wear it both during the day or at night. Does a great job at making your smokey eye pop. Love this lipstick and I will keep repurchasing.

Unfortunately I don't like this lipstick. I bought this before I realised that I don't actually get on with any matte lipsticks. I found it drying and it didn't look good on me. The colour washed me out a bit (NC30 for reference.) I would say however, that if you are a fan of mattes and you want a true nude lipstick that is very pigmented, then this might be good for you. X

Honeylove is a lipstick that looks good on a variety of different skin tones! It is a nude that looks great and does not wash me out! It pulls a look together when paired with dramatic eyes. Will definitely repurchase.

I really, truly love this color. When I told the sales agent I was looking for a matte natural color with slight undertones of something to bring a look together, she smiled and grabbed this color. She probably didn't even know what I had just asked for. I immediately fell in love with this lipstick. It's so creamy and applies really nicely especially with a nude liner on your lips too. It's staying power isn't too wonderful, it would lose it's color through a meal but that can be changed if I use Essence's color last lip base. I am 100% purchasing this lipstick again as soon as I finish this tube. The packaging is very nice. I love this lipstick. I found my HG of lipsticks!
I have found my HG nude lipstick! This nude doesn't make me look washed out and it doesn't dry my lips up (I use some chapstick). It goes well with my skintone which is nc42. I am glad I picked up this lipstick!
I picked this lipstick as my reward for B2M program and I am glad that I did. For reference, I am of middle eastern origins so I have dark hair, eyes, features and an NC40 skin tone. My lips are pigmented so their more of a dark pink/red color without anything on. On some swatches, I've noticed this color looks a nude/beige pink color, as described by MAC. However, this color on me is the perfect nude! It is a beige color with a slight cool rose but just a subtle amount of peach... Does that make sense? On me it translates to a peachy-nude but not so orange toned... Just a perfect natural warm toned nude. It is slightly drying because it is a matte shade, so I prime my lips with lip balm before applying or I'll apply a gloss over the top. Because it is a matte shade, it does last me a long while. I can apply it once and touch my lips up with balm through the day and by the end I still have the lipstick on. Will definitely repurchase this shade. MAC peachstock was always a favorite nude of mine but at the moment, this has become my new favorite! I recommend.

I do love this colour but I'm not sure if I would buy it again.
I mainly use this lipstick to blend over other MAC lipsticks that are a little too bright or vivid for everydaywear. Honeylove calms down other colours but also looks really nice on its own.
I don't think this product is awful or amazing. It works as a good lipstick that isn't drying but I think I would be able to buy a cheaper product elsewhere that would do the same job but if not, then I would buy this product again.
