MAC PATINA E/S
I've seen this color used a lot online and it was on MAC's 'best selling' list so I went out and got myself one, now I'm so glad I did! It's become one of my favorite eye shadows from MAC. Ever since I purchased this I've been using it daily. It reminds me of WEDGE e/s but with shimmer/glitter. Patina has a cool tone with a golden sheen. I can wear MAC e/s without primer and it will last all day.

I just bought it a few weeks ago and I can't stop using it! You can use Patina in a simple makeup look for day time or use it for a party look, smokey eyes as well. I really like it and recommend it!

I keep thinking I'm not in love with Patina, yet it's the most-used in my collection (almost used-up, where most other things have a bit of wear but a long way to go). I was thinking about what to replace it with, when it occurred to me to wonder why it's one of the only things I've recently had to literally "replace". Hmm!
Patina is an excellent workhorse shadow and not quite like anything else out there. Sure, it's a medium-to-light brown with a mild shimmer; that sounds really ordinary. But as you can see from the reviews, its tone varies a lot from person to person, and it seems to work with a huge range of other shadows to create different looks. Best of all, the texture is very fine, pigmentation is very good, and it's very blendable. In particular, I like that the faint shimmer/sheen is subtle and has no fallout.
My skin is quite cool-toned, and I have blue-grey eyes, so I tend to think this isn't the perfect shade for me as it skews warm. But it does have that hint of bronze that is magic for bringing out blues, and it's not orangey, so it doesn't really clash with my skin. As a result, I keep coming back to it.
Sounds like its place in my palette is safe.

Such a pretty, understated color. If you want something that isn't dark, rich, and will take over your eyes when you wear it, this is the color. To wear it on its own, it is a good every day color for a look clean, un-made up look.
It's a taupy brown with some gold in it that looks nice with green eyes. But I am guessing it would be great with any eye color.
I like to wear it with Naked Lunch on the lid and then Patina in the outer v and under my eyes, with Mac coffee liner in the water line and on the upper lid, lots of mascara. That is a quick look to achieve.
For something more defined I do Patina all over the lid and crease, Mulch in the outer v area and some Shroom in the tear duct area.
I think this color would be gorgeous with Sketch in the outer V and under the eyes. Haven't tried that one out quite yet.
This is definitely one of Mac's work horse colors that is special enough on its own or with other colors. Love it.

Got it in Snowglobe Eyeshadow Palette- Warm
Colour: medium browned taupe
Finish: slightly metallic frost
Texture: buttery
Pigmentation: medium
This is basically a little sister of the infamous Satin Taupe (which I adore to bits) but browner and less dramatic. Doesn't show up much on my skin tone unless I've got a strong base.

This has been a favourite eyeshadow of mine for around two years now and I still enjoy using it just as much as I did the first time. The colour is a really soft brown and changes in different lights to show an undertone of purple shimmer which never looks too much even in the day. I tend to wear this colour in my crease for an everyday look or all over the lid for more intensity in the evening. The lovely thing about mac shadows is that the pigmentation is great and they last all day on my eyes so patina is definitely one of my favourite everyday eyeshadows that I will perchase again and again. The packaging is perfect for me as I buy it in pan form and put it straight into my palette and the price is very reasonable considering they last me well over a year :)
An alright shade in my palette, it does not register as anything special, despite the uniqueness of it's tone. I am unsure if my skintone (NC17) just does not have chemistry with it, or whatnot. It does register on the lid, but barely. I will rarely use this alone, unless I don't want to look as if I have much makeup on. Even so, it does not give me a subtle healthy look when I put it on alone.
It's a weird taupey, molded golden brown with flashes of pinkish purplish red running through it that the eye does not really see unless in extreme proximity or as a swatch on the hand. Shimmery, but not excessive.
I managed to hit pan on it, but I think it is because I want to finish it, not because I love it.

I haven't bought this shade myself, but one of my friends has it and i think i found a dupe...the darkest shade in the Rimmel Galm eyes 019 sun safari quad.

I'm cool toned and wear glasses all the time, for starters, which means I tend to use strong colours for my eye makeup or it looks like I'm not wearing anything at all. I took back Patina for that reason: on me it turns a light gold with some hints of tan. I already have a way stronger gold, Woodwinked, so back Patina went to the store.
It looks so promising in a swatch, but no dice.

In the pan, Patina is absolutely the most beautiful thing I ever set my eyes on. It is a light-medium brown with some gold and slight green-ness in it and slight pink duochrome. It looks like someone dug up a mysterious metallic material from an ancient civilization.
BUT, I can never get this gorgeousness to show up on my lid! It just looks like a pale dirty brown and honestly, a little bit chalky! Which is a shame because I have seen it look so pretty on paler people like pixiwoo's on youtube. also when I swatch on my fingertip it looks nice, but then again my fingertips are lighter than my eyelides
I still don't regret buying it, because I am in the hopes that I will find a way to work with and really I just enjoy looking at it :)
