AWESOME!!! I usually don't go for bright lipstick - tried Girl About Town and hated it. This is so different. It's a gorgeous color. Yesterday I applied it with a brush and blot it down a little - added some dazzle glass - stayed amazing while I worked for 7 hours!!!! (I didn't eat anything) I am NW20-25, light blonde hair and blue eyes for reference.

If you are looking for that perfect on trend orange red then this is it. This is matte finish, has amazing staying power and is super super gorgeous. Not as orange as morange and more orange than ruby woo. It's perfect on fair skin with slightly yellow undertones and really pops against blue eyes. Go check this shade out....it's so hot!

For the past few weeks I have been DYING to purchase MAC's "Morange" after seeing it featured in a tri with matching lip glaze and nail lacquer. Morange just didn't work for me, I looked down at the "mattes" and saw So Chaud.
It was love at first swipe. Absolutely perfect, smooth application, didn't make it's way to my two front teeth like most lippies do.
So Chaud is Lady Danger's edgier 80's-obsessed cousin that snuck into a Van Halen concert. The orangeness isn't obnoxious, the red tone is so warm.
For a gal with hazel eyes, this sure did bring out the brown in my eyes! I fixied up my eyebrows with my black Typographic e/s (shh! ... tsk tsk..) to finish the look and applied a little mineralized coral blush.
To me, this is a retro/vintagey lip colour. Something to be seen in "I Love Lucy", something Wilma Flintstone would rock, maybe Joanie from MadMen would sport this with her up-do..
If you're really digging this but are feeling intimidated by the orangeness, ease yourself into it - apply a liner underneath and allover before the So Chaud.. keep a very natural/neutral look with the cheeks and eyes.. apply some highlighter into the cupid's bow to avoid that "shadowy" look on the upper lip :-)
I proudly paid for today's lipstick in quarters and toonies.. Payday can't be every day.

MAC calls this color "intense reddish-orange" but it is definitely more red. It is nothing like Morange or Neon Orange which are much more true orange shades. This is not a shade for the meek. You can tone it down with a gloss but I love the full-throttle color by itself.
I don't reach for this one too often, I wish it was more orange. If you love vintage orange-y red lips, this is a good pick for you. So Chaud is nce because it has the warm kick I want without it looking like I dipped my lips in Tang. Definitely not a repurchase, I'll go for Morange next time.

I LOVE this. Bought it yesterday after wanting an orange lipstick for a few weeks now. I initially wanted morange, but I felt that it was a little too bright and light for me (NC45-50) just by hand swatching.
This is a gorgeous orange with depth to it.
Wore it to a party last night and only reapplied once (after sipping on drinks & eating greasy food ALL night)
This will be the colour for every spring/summer to come for me :-)

Out of all the MAC lipsticks I own I’d have to say this is my favourite. And the first I purchased! This matte lipstick is the perfect orangey toned red. This makes the lipstick classy but with a slightly modern twist. I would say that So Chaud is one of the creamier mattes and no way near the incredibly matte Ruby Woo. All in all if you’re looking for a modern, slightly unusual red, try this!

I think So Chaud is very this spring/summer. It was actually quite hard to find a flattering bright orange. So Chaud is matte, stays all day. MAC has described it well as reddish orange. I don't consider SC red. On my NC20 skin it looks very orange. I get lots of compliments. I prefer reddish orange to curry orange. I line my lips with coral-orange Lasting Sensation by MAC and if I don't feel matte, I use SC under NARS orange Wonder gloss.

My new love! I chose this as my back-to-mac purchase. It is beautiful and striking on my NW45 complexion. At first when you put it on it is orange but calms down to a bright vintage-like red. Well, on me anyway. I would definitely purchase this again though I doubt I'll ever need to. Lasts for ages. Even through eating and drinking. I've been doing statement lips lately and I'm glad I added this to my arsenal.

The orange-red matte lip seems to be this winter and spring's color of the moment and So Chaud is a great way to easily achieve it. Morange (which I wear) is straight-out orange, which you either love or hate. Lady Danger (which I also wear and like) is a heavier red-orange, deeper and a little on the retro side - very much of a statement lipstick. So Chaud is just a touch lighter than LD in both color and texture, more carefree. It better captures the modern version of this color that's being shown everywhere. And obviously as a matte, it has durability. I apply it without liner, without gloss. I'm NW25 but I think this combo of orange/red/coral would have universal appeal.

I really really like it! It's a great bold orange red shade on my NC25 skin. It lasts SUPER long too (aka I ate tons of pasta)! and it was wonderfully intact (with the right lipliner/blotting etc) My favorite way of wearing this is actually not straight on. I actually just really like mixing this with a nude color. I dab this over my foundation to get the prettiest strawberry-orange color! :) 2 lipsticks in one!

So Chaud is the perfect spring/summer lip colour. Its definitely not for the colour shy - it makes your lips pop! Gorgeous matte orangey red which leans more to the orange side than the red. The matte finish makes it sophisticated and the brightness keeps it a little playful. MAC's Chicory liner works well with it. A colour like this pairs well with simple make up - flawless skin, a neutral eye with a bit of a shimmer, liner and mascara. I usually skip blush and go for a bit of bronzer with this one.

This is my all time favorite orange/red lipstick. I have medium color skin, yellow undertones, brown green eyes, dark hair, and this lipstick is flat out gorgeous! I get stopped on the street wearing it. It's neither orange nor red but a kind of tomatoey orange that works beautifully with light gold shadowed eyes and a bit of liner. It's the perfect, perfect orange and I absolutely love it.

I have a new love and it's name is So Chaud. Let me first say that I am fairly pale with slight olive undertones(my mother is native American, father is Irish and German) with green eyes and light brown hair. I have always stayed away from any lipstick as I have somewhat pigmented lips for my complexion and no matter what I put on it always has a reddish look. I was reading a beauty mag and this lipstick was mentioned. I figured I would go try it out. And wow was I won over. It is matte which I love but isn't drying at all. Today is day number 2 wearing it and it hasn't flakes or bled at all. The MAC sa paired it with the lipliner called raud(maybe?) and it's a perfect match. The color isn't overpowering for my pale skin and looks georg! I would imagine it looking fab on darker complexions as well. I would def purchase again

I feel like this lipstick needs a tagline with it, "Be a hot girl without looking like a hot mess" or maybe something catchier im not in advertising lol but this lipstick NEEDS to be in every olive/tanned girls makeup bag its that good. Its a bold in your face wearable orange that attracts guys and girls like magnets even the occasional geezer or two.

I was looking for an orange lipstick from mac. Morange and Neon Orange looked WAY to bright and Lady Danger was to red. I was on Makeupgeek when I saw an article "How to Rock Orange Lips' So Chaud was on the list of lipsticks. I saw it and fell in love. Against my better judgment I bought it. While I was waiting for the package to arrive I was having second thoughts. Well, it finally came today and I am thrilled. I lasts forever and it's not to in your face. Don't get me wrong it's a really bright color just more wearable than I was anticipating. I will definitely repurchase.

If you're lookin for a red-orange type lipstick that will last all day or night this is what you're looking for. Ill put it on at 12:45 PM and it'll still be on at 8:30 PM without reapplying even after eating. The color is perfect for spring or summer. I get compliments everytime I wear it. I just can't get enough. Ill be buying this lipstick till the day I die!!

I LOVE this lipstick. I have fair, warm-toned skin, and this was the absolute perfect orangy red color for me. I actually went to the MAC counter looking for Lady Danger after doing some online research, but they only carried it in the actual MAC stores, and because I was feeling lazy that day, I decided to go with So Chaud, which was recommended by the MUA helping me.
I got home, and fell in love. Paired with Redd liner by MAC, it's absolutely perfect. Like Russian Red, this is a matte color, but I don't find it to be too drying at all, like Ruby Woo can be. I just use a Nivea chapstick (blotted) underneath and it goes it really smoothly and lasts a while (but of course, with any bright color, touch ups are needed through the evening).
I think this is a unique enough color and formula to justify the price tag. I just absolutely love it.

I am NC45 and I love the way it brings the glow out of my skin and it goes great with Chickory (sp?) lipliner.

For me, with my brown hair/eyes and NC15 skintone, this l/s was incredibly garish. Admittedly, it is a nice colour, but when I put it on...urgh! More orange than red, I think it would work better on slightly darker skintones than mine. The formula is nice, so thats a bonus. But for me, this was unworkable.

If you like the look of Lady Danger but it doesn't quite work for you then try this! I use Jungle Red by NARS but wanted something less "snow white" for a change. I tried Lady Danger for a while but it just didn't suit my pale skin and made me look too flushed. This is more bright orange red than Lady Danger's coral pink and works brilliantly. If you blot it then it becomes a more subdued orange which looks great in summer. I would definatey recommend!
