I have always struggled w/under eye circles. I have tried tons of products that always end up settling in fine lines. This one isn't 100% awesome but it works the best from what I've tried. It covers decently enough but doesn't totally cover the darkness. If I use too much it does settle into fine lines. I dont feel like it does well covering acne. Definitely set w/powder or else it'll come off easily. I like to use naturally based products & I feel like this works very well for having natural ingredients. Wears well throughout the day but if I go out after work I definitely have to wash my face & start from scratch or else I'll look hit up after a few hours of drinks in a sweaty club! continued >>

Aveda's concealer is wonderful to cover up any scarring or blemishes on the face, but it is not good to cover up dark circles. Its consistency can be chalky, which makes any fine lines stand out. I wouldn't recommend this product for mature skin either because it is quite drying. When applying it to the face you have to work it quickly otherwise you can get a flaky kind of look.

I am really loving this concealer. It goes on very smoothly, and gives a very even application and a nice full coverage. This is not cakey or thick at all, its a very light weight concealer. This does a great job of covering up my dark circles under my eyes, it also doubles as a great eye shadow base, and does not crease, stays in place very well. I do use Urban Decay's 24/7 concealer pencil to dab on top of the occasinal blemish for some extra coverage. This Aveda concealer gives a natural matte finish, and works great under their Dual Powder Foundation. I recommend this for any skin type, I think anyone would really like this product. I use the shade "Balsa", which matches my NC20 skin tone perfectly.

This made me look older, because it got in all my lines.... which is a no go for me. Don't get me wrong I just turned 23, but this product simply dissapeared after a few hours on my skin.. As they say a cobbler should stick to his last Aveda should stay with Hair and Bodycare, which is really good but the make up is just disappointing, I used the products on clients while I worked for a salon. Wouldn't recommend it.

I have used this concealer for year, but after Aveda changed their formulas to be Paraben free it started to make my skin break out, and clog my pore. It is however a great concealer if you do not have acne prone skin.

I alternate between this and MAC MoistureCover. This has a more powdery finish and is a bit lighter weight, less coverage. I still like this and I love the silkiness and the smooth finish. Color selection is also good.

This goes along with the review that I wrote for the Inner Light Foundation as well...awful color match for me, unfortunately. Like the pressed powder foundation, the lightest color of this concealer looks almost white on the Aveda website...I was so excited, thinking I had finally found a foundation and concealer pair that would actually match my super pale skin. However, it was nowhere near light enough for my skin when I actually received my order..at least I was able to return it for a refund!

I tried it on once in an Aveda store and am still on the fence about buying it. I don't use concealer, but would like to find something to cover up my slightly dark under eye area and the occasional blemish.
The good: The Birch (lightest) color blended perfectly and seemed to be moisturizing. Most concealers just flake, or sit on top or match awfully.
The bad: I got home and it had settled into my baby fine under eye lines in such away that it looked like I had huge wrinkles. It's possible (I hope) that I just applied this too thickly/carelessly. I have no idea how to work with concealers, it seems.
I suppose I'll go to the store again and this time I'll have a salesperson show me how to use it properly.

The formula of this product is great- not to thick or thin, it blends and applies easily with buildable coverage over dark circles (what I use it for.) I have extreme dark circles and I can cover them completely if I layer a lot of this product on. You do have to use a moderate amount to coverage pretty big imperfections, but they do get covered. After a while, it gets kind of dry but not super cakey, and settles into some of my lines, but it does it less than other concealers I've used. The color doesn't match me exactly so I mix a lighter color with a more yellow toned one and it works great. A definite must buy for anyone who has large imperfections and doesn't feel like dealing with the llight stuff.

I just bought this concealer today and am very pleased with it. I matched with the 02/Balsa. About 3 years ago I bought this concealer and it made gave me itchy, watery eyes from the essential oils in it but now I am over the moon to discover Aveda has reformulated it and no reactions! This concealer is very smooth and silky and has decent coverage. I took off one point because it is in a wand/tube - a squeeze tube would be most ideal for sanitation. Overall very pleased and keep going back to Aveda makeup in general.

I've tried a couple of different concealers before and this is the best so far! It matches my skin tone really well and blends very nicely. I do use mosterizer before I wear it- I have never had drying problems. Many times I wear this with no foundation, just powder to set it. I do wish that it had a longer staying power (it lasts ~3-4 hrs), though I don't know if its the concealer or the powder I'm using.

My first qualm is their *extremely* limited color selection. I ended up buying one that looked okay on me when I blended it into my skin. The concealer provides light coverage and it's good for minor blemishes.
My biggest problem with this concealer is that it collects in any wrinkles, unevenness and dry skin and ends up looking really obvious and gross. Moisterizing first doesn't prevent this. I use benzyl peroxide on my pimples to dry them up so I will have dry skin around my pimple (I have combination skin with an oily T-zone) and I can not use this concealer to cover my pimples because of this problem. In fact, I feel that the concealer makes the area even more dry, and after applying this, my skin will flake.

I have this in birch and I am very fair with brown hair. I love this color. Perfect match. I prefer the concealer in the pot that was discontinued and was replaced with this concealer but the color is the same and is great for under eyes. Great consistency and blends flawlessly. I will definetly buy again....but I still miss the pot version!!!!

this concealer looked beautiful on when the sa applied it to my undereye area and small areas of discoloration. it covered my mild circles and left the area dewy, not cakey. i was very impressed ( i always hate concealer and never use it in on the eye area, only blemishes-and then it has to be cle de peau) and bought it. not only could i never recreate the look from the store, but this broke me out in small red blemishes all around the eye area and the sides of my nose-the only places i used it. i gave it a three because if you do not have sensitive skin or acne this could be a good product-not for me though.

I can see by the reviews that others really like this concealer, but for me it was a waste of money. I have pretty dark circles ( pretty as in " very", not as in "attractive".) This just did not work at all on my circles. In fact it actually clung very well to the brush and to my finger when I tried to apply it, but not to my undereye area. Since I have flawless fingertips, I really did not need the extra help there and was hoping for more of an impact on the target area. It just really did not cover well at all, and the meager coverage it did provide faded in less than two hours. I like Aveda, but just not this product.

I really like most Aveda products but not this concealer. Background: I've been using Juice Beauty cleanser, serum and moisturizer for 4 or 5 months and it has done wonders for my skin, making it soft, glowy and blemish-free. About 4 to 6 weeks ago, shortly after beginning to use the Aveda concealer, I noticed I was suddenly breaking out. The blemishes were worse than I had experienced before I began using JB and took much longer to clear. Unfortunately I kept covering them up with the Aveda concealer because it provides great coverage, wondering why they wouldn't go away and even seemed to multiply. Finally I had to travel for work and forgot my concealer. I had to fall back on an old drugstore kind I had used previously. Lo and behold, my blemishes cleared in a matter of days and my skin was back to Juice Beauty perfection! Stupid me, I still did not register that the Aveda concealer might be the problem, so when I returned home I went right back to using it. And sure enough, within a week the breakouts were back! Finally it dawned on me and after going back to the cheapie brand, my skin is thanking me. =)
I gave this concealer to my sister and she loves it and it doesn't cause her to break out.

Very creamy, hydrating concealer. It does a nice job of minimizing undereye circles and covering blemishes.
Edit: I still like and use this product. However, it doesn't appear as natural if you use it without foundation or another base. And much as I love Aveda's products, I wasn't able to find a concealer than matched my skin tone.

I love this concealer for under my eyes. It is THE best concealer I have tried and I have tried a LOT. It really covers my circles and creases the least of all the concealers I've tried. The wand is easy to use. I have stopped looking for under eye concealers after this. It is great!

This is the best concealer I have ever bought. I like to put a lot of concealer under my eyes and a little bit on some blemishes and this works wonderfully for both. It has wonderful coverage and is intensely hydrating, also under the eyes it goes on smooth and does not look cakey or show fine lines and on blemishes it does not clog up pores any further. Wonderful and I will definitely keep buying this. P.S. though, this is a light coverage concealer.
