Aphogee literally saved my hair! I went to a salon recently to get more purple highlights on my hair. The hairdresser not only fried my hair completely but he also managed to rip off a huge chunk of it (I now have a rly weird animu cowlick thing).

I was furious and inconsolable, my hair was gummy and broke off if I dared to brush my fingers through it. I was terrified of getting it wet. At this point it would have been reasonable to cut it off but I absolutely hate having short hair and I spent an eternity growing my hair til lower back lenght so cutting to me was no option. I tried lots and lots of hot oil treatments which helped a bit but did not adress the breakage problem. Finally, I got myself the Aphogee protein treatment from Sally's.

As everyone has stated,it is a very messy application process and the smell is just rly funky (I think it kinda smelled like feet). However, this is a very small price to pay for the total miracle that happened later.

After I was rinsing out my rock-hard proteined hair, I put in the Aphogee conditioner. After that, I put a mix of coconut oil and color protecting conditioner. I was so amazed by the results. I no longer shed a squirrel of hair and my hair feels strong and healthy, almost like how it felt when it was still virgin hair!

I owe the life of my hair to this product, I will be sure to use it every month or so, it is a lifesaver.

AMAZING!!! This is the best hairproduct I have ever used!
My hair is very fine and I have mishandled it quite a bit: I colour it every 5 weeks, blowdry it, heatstyle it.. As a result it became very dry and frizzy. I have tried everything to make it better but nothing has ever worked for more than a day. I have spend so much money on my hair, it's crazy. But Aphogee two step Treatment actually transformed my hair. Doing the treatment is drag, drying my hair takes forever.. But the results are amazing.
I do this treatment every month, after the Aphoge conditoner I apply pure coconut oil to my hair which I leave on for a few hours. This routine works wonders!

For anyone who uses bleach on their hair this product is a miracle worker. I highlight my own hair. This past weekend I did another round of highlights but used a 30v developer (in the past I used 20v) and over processed the front hairs resulting in breakage. When my hair was wet, the highlighted portions had that gummy consistency over bleached hair tends to get.

I did an Aphogee protein treatment last night. I poured the solution into a spray bottle for easier application and used my hand dryer as I don't have a hooded dryer. Dried it into my hair until it was crispy and stiff. Rinsed it out and followed it with the Balancing Moisturizer (left it in for 2-3 minutes) and then used Ion Effective Care Treatment (5 mins). I then towel dried my hair, added the Aphogee Keratin and Green Tea Restructurizer and some Mane and Tail Detangler. I was able to blow dry my hair using a round brush and no hairs snapped off in the process. My hair feels like it did prior to bleaching it.

I think the key with this treatment is to remember it is meant to make your hair stronger, not softer so a good deep conditioner afterwards is a must to restore the hair's supple texture. I had bought the 4 oz bottle and I have enough product for 1 more application which I plan on repeating in 6 weeks.

I completely agree with every review that says this saved their overly processed highlights (that turned stretchy, gummy, mushy...) As stated by others, this is for *damaged* hair. It's not going to do anything noticeable to average healthy hair. I'd lightened my hair and added highlights and apparently left the solution on too long, and I got those scary stretchy gummy pieces of hair that would break off if you stretched them too much. I already had this on hand just in case, due to the reviews, and if there was ever a time I needed it, it was then. I didn't find my hair got "hard" but it did get stiff but whether I let it dry long enough or not, it completely transformed those damaged highlights. There was a noticeable improvement in the strength and texture of my highlights (but the healthy un-highlighted hair remained the same). The smell was... odd, not pleasant, but not horrible and definitely worth it for the results I got. If you overprocess your hair, you need this.

This stuff saved my hair!! I over deep conditioned the last month (thinking it would make my hair super healthy) not so! It made it turn into mush I couldn’t even touch my hair! (No I don’t dye my hair!) so apparently you can over condition. :S I tried Joico the deep penetrating kpak reconstructor. It didn’t do a thing and I used it more than I should have! So a last resort I bought this stuff and my hair is gmail ready stronger and much less breakage but best if all not “as” mushy when it’s wet anymore! A LIFESAVER. I lost a lot of hair from breakage so I hope I can get my thick hair back again over time but truly this stuff has restored the lost protein back into my hair. I live learned not to over co fiction anymore. Who knew it could wreck your hair that badly it would break?!
LOVE Aphogee!!

Oh my god! If you have bleached hair, buy this! To the girls with bleached hair, you know how your hair stretches and breaks when it is wet? Well I just tried this for the first time and as I was rinsing it out in the shower, I did a strand test and guess what.... NO gummy stretchy breaking hairs!!! Then I brushed after while still wet and again, NO stretchy breaking gummy hair. It feels like normal, unbleached hair. If you think it's too smelly to use, then you must not have very damaged hair because the smell is a small price to pay to actually FIX mushy damaged hair. This stuff is not for normal hair AND it is NOT for making hair soft. That is what conditioner is for. If you are a brunette with minimally damaged hair and just want softer hair, go buy a conditioner! This is a protein treatment. Use it exactly as it says on the container and don't waste your time if you have normal, brown hair (unless it is relaxed ethnic hair--which this is also perfect for). BTW, I have very long, thick, wavy dark blonde hair that is bleached to almost pure white.

I bleach my dark brown hair a lot and use heat tools almost everyday. I followed the instructions on this but it didn't work at all! My hair feels like it has even more breakage and I feel like I have less hair now (weird). I used a mask after wards but my hair was still sooo dry. I had to put olive oil in it last night to restore some of the moisture. It also smells HORRIBLE like kitty litter. I wouldn't say it caused damage to my hair but it definitely didn't help it! I wouldn't but this again. I like Redken Anti-Snap better

I have naturally straight, flat, blah hair (thanks to my Portuguese and Spanish blood). Being a hair chameleon, I dye, bleach, re-dye, highlight, etc. my hair WAAAYYY more than I should. My hair finally decided to give up on me after my most recent bleach cap. I heard about this protein treatment and used it with heat. I experienced no breakage and my hair is still holding on strong. This stuff worked wonders on my hair. If not for Aphogee protein treatment I'd probably be rocking short hair again (which took me FOREVER to grow out). Love it!!!

This is a good product but it is just not for my protein sensitive hair. I had crazy breakage after using this :(

This product works but the side effects are not worth it. I bought this to stop breakage on my over processed bleached hairand this product made me lose hair. Im talking more than ive ever expereinced washing my hair. Every hair was lost from my root and the roots are my strongest bc it hasnt been processed as much. I looked up the ingredients and sodium laureth sulfate causes hair loss. This product also uses fermaldhyde as a binder but not sure if that is enough to cause cancer. Does anyone know a website that promotes products that avoid the top ingredients that can easily seap into your skin?
UPDATE I found the perfect website EWG.org
