PROS:
-the fragrance is gorgeous
-the tub is large

CONS:
-it's SO thick that it's hard to spread and can pull at your skin

CONCLUSION:
-good for hands and feet, overnight, with mitts/socks, but not really for the body

Sugar Shea butter is my favorite fragrance, but it is extremely thick and hard to spread/apply. I've found myself using it as a lipbalm, or warming it enough to apply to my dry feet and then put on socks as an overnight treatment. There isn't an easy way that I could use something this thick and emollient on my body.

The lippies I awarded were for strictly for the fact that Fresh attempted to make a more natural product ....however, natural products should be just as nice to use as those non-natural ones, otherwise, we start to hate our beauty routine! This is a moisturizing butter, because it's almost 100% Shea....however, there is a very synthetic fragrance added (what they describe to be "sugar"...and you know sugar doesn't have a smell, so the fragrance isn't natural).....You have to really really work this butter in your hands til it melts into an oil, then lather on the skin...BUT because this is SO RICH, the fragrance is too much. Even though Sugar isn't an overwhelming fragrance, it is just a little too much for this rich product. It moisturizes well but spreads so poorly that you have areas that are much more moisturized than others, or you over use and just become an oil slick. Nice try but not a fantastic product....

I recieved the full size by chance, and although I love the scent, I have come the conclusion I have the world's biggest tub of lip balm! It's almost impossible to spread on my body! I'll stick to raw shea butter...

I like the scent of fresh sugar a lot ,so I purchased this butter for 38 bucks for a relatively small amount of product, but I am disappointed...the scent remains on my skin only for a few minutes, then nothing! It is a good butter, but I'm returning it and will not repurchase.

Oh yes!!! I love this. I got the Fresh Lemon Drops set, and this was the only one of the three things I liked! But, it was SOOOooo worth, to discover my possible HG! I am a fan of natural beauty, because mineral oil and petroleum products really don't heal my skin or my lips.
I feel comfortable and safe putting this all over! My lips, eyes, hair! You can't go wrong with shea butter!!! If anyone is swapping their's out, PLEASE message me!!!!!

Everyone else seems to like this product and I'm not really sure why. The scent is weird and unappealing to me, and it not only takes awhile to rub in, but I find that it sits on my skin for awhile and makes me want to wash it off. Between the scent and the difficulty of the consistancy of this product, I think I'd opt for a product that is easier to use with the same if not better results.

When I first bought this I hated it. I bought the little travel sized one and wanted to swap it away. Then I got too lazy to swap it and just forgot about it. The size made it too small to use on my body, and yet it was too sticky/waxy to use it on my face. I bought a Body Butter (nut) from the Body Shop for my body, and a Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye cream for my face. This was reserved as a night eye cream only, which I barely ever used.
Then I got a CdP concealer, and the BB eye cream just wasn't heavy enough to blend it. Every time I'd use my BB eye cream and it would be gone by the end of the day. I tried this little cream again. What a difference! It can actually keep my concealer on ALL DAY with no migration, no movement, and no settling in fine lines. I put this on, CdP concealer on top, and finish with a powder just to make it settle in. The secret was putting the powder on last -- before it would all be sticky and I hated how my face felt. After powder, it's velvety smooth. I need to repurchase it again, I have barely anything left in the little container now. It's ironic because this has ended up being my day-time eye cream, and I only use the BB before going to bed (where it does miracles during the night). I'm so happy with it that it'll be a long time before I try anything else.

I use this as a P.M. eye cream, and as lip balm. (I keep the tub on the nightstand and smear it on right before going to sleep.) All I am looking for is intense hydration and it delivers.

This stuff is just ridiculously sticky/oily/waxy. It feels like thick bees wax mixed with oil on the skin. The smell...hmm..a bit like lemon pledge ! The price is ridiculous too. hmm..not too snappy!

In my opinion, Fresh has got a lot of scents wrong (i.e. lychee) but the lemon line remains unscathed, fortunately. The ubiquity of shea butter has diminished my interest in it somewhat, but Fresh has injected this common moisturizing agent with a pleasing lemony scent that I could not get enough of. When I first tried it at Blue Mercury, I was immediately hooked to the smell and got a travel-size compact.

Ever since then, I have tried to convince myself why it is a keeper in spite of many of its inconveniences. First off, the waxy texture takes some getting used to. Putting on body lotion is already a chore, but with this thick cream Fresh has made the act a real exercise, or a full-body massauge at the very least. Still, it gets absorbed faster than some of the lotions I have tried. If I could make do with BeneFit's 'Touch me then try to leave...', I don't see why I can't make a case for this one. Second, this cream doesn't seem to target a specific area. Is it for the body, the hands, the feet, or all-purpose? A number of previous reviewers even use it as a lip balm; I myself prefer it as a spot-treatment or a leg cream. Third, for all its thick consistency, the cream gets used up much more quickly than I thought. My travel-size is half gone after two applications.

Edit: The (waxy) texture has become too much of a problem, so I would not upgrade to full-size. continued >>

This has become a real favorite of mine for winter ravaged fingers. It is helping to heal some cracked skin around my cuticles. Has a delicious lemony smell. You just scoop up a tiny amount with your finger and warm in your hands before massaging in. I do not find it to be super greasy. I keep it at my desk and it is not gunking up my keyboard. I love Fresh products except for the hideous prices. I also use the Fresh Sugar blossom hand cream and the Fresh Sugar Lip balm. I plan to buy another one for my handbag. I really prefer this to the L'Occitane shea butter.

got the travel size, love the scent and how it makes my dry patches disappear. hate the crumbly texture though. i mostly use it on my lip, elbows, feet and cuticles. i imagine it would be good for travelling in winter, used to carry it around in my makeupbag however even though the texture of the product is very thick, it moved around and tilted to one side and all over the lid... great for spot treatment but for the heavy duty work i'll leave it to my elizabeth arden 8 hour cream, more economical and versatile (yes, i know it's got that stinky medical scent but it works great on anywhere skin behaves badly).

This butter is what made me fall in LOVE with the fresh sugar line! WHen I first bought it I sniffed it many many times a day and dreamed of buying the fragrance! However, as a butter, its not the greatest item and it is super expensive. When I lived in Washington, it was very hard and took awhile to absorb but now in Hawaii, its much softer and easier to use...I guess the heat is good for SOMETHING haha
Overall, I do like this stuff but wont repurchase a full size. Maybe another small one just to sniff during the day or to use on wrists before spraying on the scent. Fresh sugar is my favorite line out of them all!!!

received this product as a gift and have been slowly using it (only need a tiny bit at a time) on dry cuticles. it has a rather strong and sweet lemon scent, perhaps a bit too sweet for me, but tolerable. VERY concentrated formula, helps keep cuticles smooth. i have it on my bedside table and use it at night. in summer, i might try it on dry feet. has an occlusive feel, so probably locks moisture in, which isn't a bad thing for extremely dry and tough areas.

I love the scent of this stuff, a very fresh, lemony-sweet aroma. Unfortunately it just doesn't work as well as I'd hoped it would, especially given the price. I doesn't feel like it soaks into my hands very well, but just kind of sits there.
Don't plan on purchasing again, just because i'm sure there are other lotions that smell great, and work better.

Although the scent is heavenly, this shea butter is not. I don't know anything about the refining process, but shouldn't shea butter be moisturizing? It feels like it is as you apply it, then it's gone. I would NOT repurchase; however, I would recommend their lemon soap. Again, not so moisurizing (I'm with the other reviewing--go with L'Occitane--my fave) but the scent is worth it!

I really like this - for many of the reasons others don't. The faint lemon scent doesn't interfere with other scents I'm wearing, but is truly pleasant and uplifting when I first apply it. I only need a very little bit of the product and I don't deeply massage it in - I just warm it with my fingers and apply to hands, elbows and face. It goes to work. My dry face looks far better after application, I could also swear some small lines are less prominent. I will continue to use this - its helping.
