Works, but the coconut variety smells like popcorn to me. I couldn't bear it. Luckily, the meltdown comes in a lot of SCA kits. I'll just avoid this fragrance.

What to add to all the reviews? Not much - the stuff works, the container is sensible, the price is right (watch for her on HSN with BOGOs), and it never burns or stings.
I like all the Meltdowns, esp. the lemony one.

I LOVE the coconut smell of this, I think I am addicted! I was shocked at how well it worked, I slather it all over my face including eyes, wait 10 seconds, then remove with a warm damp wrag. It removes all traces of makeup and leaves my skin feeling soft and very clean. I willnever be without it!

I've been using SCA makeup meltdowns for a long time and find them to be effective at removing both face and eye makeup completely without tugging or pulling skin. The first time that I used this product, I did experience irritation and burning but found out later that the culprit was not this product but another BHA product that was too strong for my skin and therefore, everything I was using was bothering my skin. Until my skin got over the effects of the offensive product, I wasn't going to get good results from any cleanser. Once my skin recovered, I tried this product again and was pleasantly surprised to find that it didn't irritate my skin at all. So, if you've experienced irritation with the SCA meltdowns, be sure to look closely at the rest of your skincare regimen to see if any other product is creating the reaction before blaming this one, as I mistakenly did before.
To avoid irritation, the best way to use it is to apply and spread the product all over your skin and eyelids and lashes (keep your eyes closed and you won't have a problem with stinging) and then with a wet warm washcloth, gently wipe the product off, rinse the washcloth and continue until you remove the product completely from your face and eye area. I personally found that using tissues to remove this product was way too irritating for my skin and didn't remove the product as effectively. The coconut version smells delicious, is very soothing and softening and not at all greasy and thick as the Pond's Cold Cream you find at the drugstore. I had a hard time removing both versions of Pond's cold cream and find that the SCA meltdowns are much easier to remove and leave no greasy afterfeel. I have never had an allergic reaction such as redness, irritation, itching or burning with this product when used in the fashion described. After using this product to remove my makeup, my skin is left clean, soft, soothed and hydrated and I find that I need no other cleanser. I can even use this as a morning cleanser and my face is still calm and soothed. Using the washcloth is key for me. I can apply my additional facial products such as serums and lotions with no problems. So, if you're on the fence, give it a try! As anothe reviewer noted, this is really "the bomb" - a great product!

I have always used cold cream to remove my revlon colorstay fondation, but end up washing my face a few times to get the greay residue of the cold cream off. I thought this might be an alternative, but after a few days of use, this was stinging and burning my face and eyes. I do have sensitve skin, but never had trouble with cleansers. It did have a lighter texture than cold cream and does smell wonderful. Unfortunately this did not work for me.

This product does seem to do what it says, which is melt down and remove makeup and dirt and oil. I didn't try it on my eyes, so I can't say if it is effective for eye makeup. I thought this product had 2 main problems: 1. the packaging -I don't like putting my hand in my cleanser every day. A pump would be better. 2. the lingering smell -It was nice to smell the coconut while washing my face, but I could still smell it on my face until the next morning! Yuck! I wouldn't buy it again.

This is my favorite cleanser by far, rich and creamy, and easy to do at the sink or in the shower. I usually kept mine in the shower because it was easier. I just dont like the price. I wish I could find it cheaper. And a pump dispenser would be awesome. It gets kind of messy trying to get it out of the jar because it cakes under my nails, and I almost spill it if I try to tap it out of the jar.

Although the scent of Adrien Arpel's ORIGINAL Coconut Cleanser was deeeeeeelicious, her new Signature Club A one is close to it. I do notice a different texture to it than her original, but this is an effective cleansing cream. I guess it would have to be so it can remove that spackle (er, makeup) that she's selling!

After having tried a multitude of cleanser/makeup removers, I've found a winner! The idea of a pleasantly scented cleanser was what first drew me to this product (as well as the low price). I hadn't very high hopes because I automatically associated a cheap price with a cheap product. Boy was I wrong!
Never have I been able to remove my makeup with such ease. No scrubbing, no pulling, no rubbing! I just massage a small amount in for about 10 seconds, and rinse off. Voila! Perfectly clean and oh so soft skin! The softness is truly impressive and I keep touching my face because I cannot remember a product ever leaving my skin so soft.
On to the smell: It's definitely coconut. The scent is pretty strong (I was able to smell it through the packaging before opening it). At the same time, it smells just as its name implies: coconut.
This is my official HG cleanser/makeup remover now!

I love this stuff and could not be without it! I've been using it for years now. It's an unlikely source considering the line. This is her best product IMO. This comes in HUGE vat sized tubs, is very reasonably priced as well, especially when on sale. It's very creamy and thick without being greasy. You rub this goo on your face and in ten seconds flat, everything is melted off just as promised. I only use this on my eyes however, I don't like it for my whole face. It melts any kind of eye makeup off so easily, and specifically mascaras. You must take care not to get it into your eye however, or it will sting. It lasts me forever, in fact I usually have to toss out my jar and purchase a new one, just because it would last me over a year since I only use two dollops of it at night on my eyes rather than my whole face and I like a fresh jar, but even so, I suspect it would still last a year if I did. Can be purchased on HSN. All the flavors are nice, but I especially like this and the vanilla. This does have a strong coconut scent, I could see where some people might not like it, I'd start with the vanilla if you've never tried it before.

Cons: very heavy coconut smell...too heavy. At first, it's not bad, but becomes overpowering and lingers. It is an eye irritant. Wow is it ever. Since the directions say to apply to remove eye makeup, I guess I didn't expect SO much irritation.
Pros: it does remove every bit of makeup. It leaves skins super soft. No redness at all...just fresh skin. I did the toner test with a cotton pad...and there was no residue.
I can't decide if I'll buy it again. I like how it cleans, hate how it irritates my eye area. Not a big fan of the smell. Probably would try the lemon-scented version next. Wish Adrienne would make an unscented variety. UPDATE: this is a great shaving product!! Leaves my legs super soft, and with fewer nicks. Am getting used to the smell as well, but still will try the other scents if I repurchase. continued >>

i can't figure out which one of Adrien's meltdowns i like the most. it's a toss-up between 3: this one, the vanilla, or the lemon verbena. they all work pretty much the same: take off makeup (not all my eye makeup though, unless i'm just wearing regular mascara), and provide a creamy, mild, moisturizing cleansing for the skin.i treat this like a regular cream cleanser: put it on dry, dirty skin, massage it in for about a minute, and take it off with a warm wash cloth, followed with a splash of water. i've never had it irritate my skin, nor have i broken out from it... in fact, i'll use only this to cleanse my skin when my skin is irritated by something or my eczema is back on my cheeks or eyelids--IMO, this stuff is as gentle as Cetaphil, but smells a heck of alot better.the reason this product doesn't get a 5 is... it's not the best cleanser Adrien carries. her Alpha Hydroxy/Retinol foaming cleanser is just as gentle, but more thorough. i don't know that you can get it on HSN anymore (which is why i haven't started a review for that product); you've probably gotta buy direct from TV Club A. continued >>

Texture is nice. Does an effective job, but the putrid smell of chemical coconut is enough to gag you. Probably will throw it out.

Sensitive, Combo, Mild Rosacea>>>I am not a big fan of the Signature Club A line as I have found most of the products to be cheap with horrible textures..However, the meltdowns are probably the best products in the whole line in my opinion. The Coconut meltdown is like Pond's cold cream with aromatherapy..The scent is light but reminds me of Hawaiian Tropic tanning oil when I use this; very nice! It does do a great job of removing makeup when used with a soft washcloth..I think of it as a "treat" because it smells so darn good. Unfortunately, I have atypical skin so I found that it stung my eyes which did not happen to me before I got rosacea. So I tried to be fair in reviewing this as I realize my skin is special needs. If you decide to try anything from this line; this is the product to do it with..A nice vacation from the traditional foaming cleansers! continued >>

I can never make up my mind about which of the SCA Meltdown Cleansers I like the best. This one is right up there for me on the top of the list.It has a beautiful Coconut fragrance that takes me back to carribean beaches sipping pina coladas! The cleanser is very effective at removing makeup, everything from foundation, mascara,& lipsticks.Apply this to your face, count to 10 seconds, then remove with a soft washcloth & you are done. You skin is left soft & clean without a greasy residue.WONDEFUL!
Highly Recommend this one & pretty well all of the SCA Meltdown Cleansers. Each one works very well.I guess it depends what mood you are in,which one you'd pick on a given day.
This one is tops though! :_) continued >>

Great cleanser for combo skin or dry. I like this alot. I do agree that a washrag is needed to remove the last remmants. Scent is not overly coconut like I expected, so that is a pleasant surprise. I expected the feeling of nauseousness I would normally get. But I figured to purchase this with a kit would be a great buy, and it was. The woman who sells this( won't mention names) does better with her skincare line than her makeup.

great for removing make-up but I always use a wet washrag to make sure I get it all off. Prefer the Lemon fragrance to the coconut but both do the job well.

I really like this product. Smells terrific and removes all my makeup in one quick easy step.
It does remove my mascara, but it stings my eyes...so I try not to leave it on any longer than necessary.
Other than this, I love it...and I'll definitely buy it again.
